Ann was AMAZING at our wedding!!! She helped us through our wedding playlist and lights, not only that. She went above and beyond to help make sure our day was perfect! I Highly recommend this company for ANY DJ service

This review is long over due, but I would like to thank freelance event sound and lighting (specifically Dj ron) for the amazing job he did at our wedding at green mountain ranch last month. He was such a joy to work with and he really knows how to keep the party going. Our guests are still telling us how much they enjoyed the variety of music that he played at our wedding, And how much fun they had dancing! You know you have an awesome Dj when you look around and everyone is up out of their seats and on the dance floor! We have nothing but good things to say about Ron and freelance event sound and

I never really post reviews, however I was really upset with the service that was provided for the day of my wedding. Our first meeting with Ron he had said that he would be our dj since we were the first to book with him. The day of the wedding he was no where to be found and when I asked the dj that was there I was told that Ron was at another wedding and then later was told a whole different story of why Ron was not there. The dj that he sent did not know the time line he messed up the names of the bridal party and missed the blessing for our food and I probably only heard him speak a couple of times they didn’t know how to pump up the crowd they were just completely unprepared. The only good thing was that they played cumbias all night which was what we requested. Never again will we be making business with this company! !

Freelance Event Sound & Lighting (Ron) Is an Excellent person very professional and friendly & very organized from start to finish he made sure my daughter’s special day «Sweet 16^th» would be awesome! Freelance is not only a DJ they directed everyone thought the evening. The music was such a perfect mix to accommodate every ones likes. we also used the uplighting and it made the venue look even more beautiful! You cannot go wrong with Freelance all our guests enjoyed the music from the oldest to the youngest. And my daughter didn’t stop smiling & dancing the whole night. Mission Accomplished!!! My wedding was this passed Saturday and I was more than happy with the services from Ann! Their services were included in my venue and after our first appointment I was happy. However at our final appointment which was the Sunday before our wedding Ron was not there. He explained that he had left his phone in a rental van from the night before but I was still pretty mad that we drove all the way out there and couldn’t get a hold of him until the next day. We weren’t able to go over my final details but they did offer me free uplighting as an apology which was great. Ron was not there for our wedding but Ann was absolutely amazing and totally redeemed any left over feelings from the missed appointment. She got everyone up and dancing and helped with the entire wedding flow, everything was super smooth and she was a really great time. I would totally recommend them to anybody. Thank you guys for making my wedding a great time for all of my guests!

OMG talk about value, great service and amazing people! Our original wedding venue had to cancel last minute due to the weather
and they rolled with ut, showed up at the new place set up and were such a great help! We ended up having to get Costco pizza as no one could cater that last minute and DJ Ann was even helping serve guests! She kept the party lively and was so much fun! I’m so glad they were able to come and mc the event!

Our wedding took place at the Claremont Colleges. We have high standards and expectations, Ron far exceeded them! This not an easy feat since the expectation that I have and the venue are hard to meet.
Since the very beginning Ron was very communicative to my wife and I and went as far to meet with me at my workplace in Claremont. Moreover, he is extremely cognizant of the guests and is able to adjust accordingly.
At our wedding of 200+ we have people from different demographics. and walks of life. Ron is keen and was able to produce a wedding music playlist that kept everybody entertained and dancing, Moreover the up lighting was exquisite and my guest mentioned how beautiful the lighting was.
We are certain that we will use him again for our events with my family and at my workplace! Very respectful and professional. Highly recommend!

My fiancée and I are pretty bummed out. We came across this company at a wedding expo and really liked the company and the services they offered. I’ve called and emailed at least 5 different times over the last 2 weeks and never received a call back. I guess we’ll take our business else where.

Freelance came to the rescue! The DJ for our wedding had to have last minute surgery. We were stressed to find someone with less than a week to the big day. Ann and Ron were referred by our photographer and made it happen and on super short notice! The lighting, the selection, the professionalism, the seamless flow, all of it. Theu really are masters at their craft.

Ron not only was a fabulous DJ for my wedding, but he also stepped up in so many other ways to ensure our night was special. The music was fabulous and my guests danced, in the rain, throughout the night. I am so thankful for all he did that night. I would highly recommend him.

I wish I could give Ron more than 5 stars, for really going above and beyond. We had, of course, hired him to DJ our wedding, and in that role he nailed it. He was always courteous and professional in communicating with us before our wedding, and made getting our wedding music right a breeze. We gave him a few songs we definitely wanted played, then gave him leeway by describing broad genres (ex. 80’s music, 90’s alternative) for him to run with. He kept the party going and our guests loved the music and kept on raving about the DJ.
The thing is, Ron didn’t just excel in his role as a DJ. Unfortunately, our venue completely let us down. The venue was unprepared, causing our ceremony and reception areas to be moved, and the whole wedding delayed. DJ Ron rolled with the changes with a smile, which helped keep me calm. When our venue wedding coordinator just vanished (before the ceremony even started), it was Ron who stepped in and filled the role. He kept the reception moving and did the things the venue was supposed to be doing for us. For example, during the cake cutting, it was Ron, not the venue, who got us our silverware!
Ron, it was such a pleasure having you at your wedding. Thank you again for everything you did for us.
To anyone else reading this, give Ron a call. I think he’ll win you over on your first meeting.

I just made a Unilocal and wanted to share my experience!
I hired this company for my weddings August 22, 2014. I met them at a bridal show and the prices were unbeatable.
We had a great time at our wedding in general, the set up that the company did was great, however I had a few problems. When I had my first meeting, Ron said he was going to be our Dj. On my final meeting Ron said his brother, who I met, was going to be the dj.
The day of my wedding it was 2 totally different people that I’ve never met before. I had a special presentation for my fiancé for his bday segment that I talked to Ron about and he made it seem possible. The day of our wedding it did not go as planned with the «unknown» dj. The song that was suppose to be played after my performance was not played! It was Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder so instead I just had the guest sing Happy Birthday altogether. Then he played it after, which was pointless.
Also the dj kept saying our name as «STEVENSON» our name is pronounced «STEPHENS» how could he mess up our name now it’s on our wedding video smh!!! I text Ron about the service and I never got a response. And I have proof. My problem is, just don’t throw anyone in to Dj if I didn’t meet or know anything about them!
As I saw many other photos of weddings they services, Ron is always THERE! Photos of the setup and all but I guess we were different to where we couldn’t get that same treatment smh!!!

«Hello Ron,
Lijuan and I had a great time, the setup was GREAT, we loved it… however there were a few flaws with the service. I thought your brother that I met the last meeting was going to be our dj. I was highly upset because the Dj that we had did not provide what YOU AND I talked about for the birthday part, He did NOT play the „section“ of STEVIE WONDER THAT WE DISCUSSED. It messed up my vision because I had to have EVERYBODY SING THE „REGULAR“ happy birthday, also they skipped over the BRIDE-​Son dance and I had to make sure that was the FIRST THING we did after dinner, HIS concept of the money dance was NOT A GOOD IDEA, normally the bride and groom both dance together and guest showers them with money, well the dj wanted to have a separate line „girl and boy“ to dance with us one on one, FIRST OF ALL, WHAT GUY IS GONNA BE COMFORTABLE TO DANCE ALONE WITH THE BRIDE ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY HAVE A GUEST, THEREFORE THE MONEY DANCE WAS A FAIL UNTIL I JUST SAID EVERYBODY JUST GET UP… I just wish YOU were our dj like you said you would be when we had our first meeting or it would have been your brother that i had met, because I was comfortable and knew it would be great but NOPE IT WASNT because that was most important to me»
I am more so not satisfied with the lead on and miscommunication! The lighting was great though!

Ron, Ann, and Andrew are ROCK STARS! We love working with them and highly recommend them to all our brides. As a wedding coordinator, we have seen them on numerous occasions go above and beyond to ensure each and every event runs smoothly. They are excellent MC’s, they know how to get the guests up and out of their seats, and they do lighting too! They know how to really transform any space and they are just the nicest people you will ever meet! They always make sure that everything the bride and groom envisioned and wanted for the musical ambiance is executed with professionalism. Can’t say enough! Book them NOW!

DJ Ron was amazing. We met him at a bridal expo, and instantly we knew that he was the DJ for our wedding. Ron did the lighting and DJ/​MC services for our wedding. He is great at what he does. He gets the crowd into it. The crowd of 175 people were of different backgrounds (ethnicities and ages) but he still found something to make everyone happy. There was a full dance floor throughout the whole night. He switches from song to song and genre and genre so smoothly. Throughout the night, Ron kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. We would give more than 5 stars if we could. Thank you Ron for a great party !
Also the lighting and monogram was perfect.

Ron and his team are the nicest and most hard working individuals. They go out of their way to make sure everything goes off without a glitch. I knew after my first meeting with Freelance that they were a solid DJ service. They did our ceremony, reception, and lighting and everything was perfect. The online planning tool they provide removed a ton of stress and if you get stuck you can call, text, email them and they will be there for you. They really captured our personality during our wedding and I couldn’t be more grateful and happy.

Ann was a great host for a wedding I recently photographed! She was hilarious and engaged with the audience perfectly without overdoing it! She smiled the entire time and worked extremely well with the DJ in the background!

Ron did a great job all around. Lighting was great, music was great, and he kept everything moving right along. He played every song we asked for, making it a super special night! We walked out married to the Back to the Future theme song! I would surely hire Freelance again and they worked well with Martin V Photography, who did our photos.

Ann did an amazing job at our wedding! We did not have to worry about anything they were there on time and they knew exactly what they were doing! The music was awesome kept all my guest dancing all night. Everyone had a great time! Will definitely recommend to use their services to anyone that is looking to have an amazing time!

Wedding Event 9÷27÷2014
My Sister’s Quince was last year (2013) and Ron DJ’ed for her party. The night of her quince, we had an excellent time and had never seen a dance floor so packed for the entire night. We booked Ron /​Freelance Event Sound & Lighting for our wedding after having a terrible experience with another djay (the Djay Company). About two or three months before our event, we reached out to Ron in a state of panic because our event was so close. Not only was Ron completely understanding, he was also extremely professional and very easy to work with. He made time in his schedule to meet with us at a location of our choice. Throughout the entire process of selecting music Ron was IMMENSELY helpful, all of his music was organized like i had never seen, he also had great selections and was willing to even give advice about music he thought was good for the entire crowd at our wedding (ranging from kids to grandparents). Then there was the lighting… oh my. it completely set the tone for the event, it kept the mood romantic and accentuated all of our décor. The actual DJ the day of our event was DJ Louis at Ron’s recommendation and let me be the first one to tell you, he certainly knows how to keep the party going, the dance floor was packed the whole night all the way until the venue closed. Louis and his staff were completely professional and had great people skills. Our music choice (to us anyway) seemed difficult to find a vast array of choices (no rap or hip hop for 6 hours) but Louis seemed to transition from song to song with ease, all the while keeping the party going. Overall, if you want everyone at your party to have an amazing time, BOOK FREELANCE EVENT SOUND & LIGHTING NOW!!! you will not regret it!!! Thanks for everything you did for us Ron, you really changed the outcome of our event!
