Do not buy anything here unless you’re completely sure you want it.
Came here looking for some spiderman related comics for a cousin who’s big on collecting. Found the Spidey verse hard cover collection. I paid 82 dollars for it. Turns out he already owns it, they bought it for him off if Amazon for 47 bucks. At this point I’m a little aggravated since I bought it for twice the amount. No big deal its still in the plastic wrapping and I bought it the day before I should just be able return it. Pulled out my receipt and lo and behold all the way at the bottom it states ‘no reading material can be returned’ but under that it also says ‘items must be unopened to be returned’.
I figure its worth a shot to call since its unopened and I bought it the day before right?
I call the store and they tell me after asking a few questions the best they can do is exchange it for an item of equal or lesser value. I frankly didn’t want anything else from there. They ended up telling me there was nothing they could do. I’m out 80 bucks. Definitely won’t be returning and I’ll be sure to buy from online from now on.

Want expensive stuff, here’s where you will find it. But you are on vacation anyways and don’t care. They have moved to a new location on the citywalk since the last time I was here. I always enjoy looking at all of the vintage and new hard to find toys they have. We did end up with a bunch of new star wars toys that were sold out everywhere else. (come to think of it, maybe they bought them all)
Overall, always a good time a this place.

We stumbled upon this cool shop during a recent outing to Horror Nights at Universal Studios and I pretty much wanted to buy everything.
I’m not a comic book collector, but I was impressed by the amount of horror themed merchandise they had. Everything from Beetlejuice, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and more were presented on t-​shirts, lunchboxes, action figures and other awesome collectibles. It was one of the first places I saw the new horror themed Mr. Potato Heads and I vowed to come back and get them.
Yes, things were a little on the pricey side, but I wouldn’t expect anything less being a the City Walk. I didn’t think they were too crazy as a shirt costed about $ 18.99 and the lunchboxes were about $ 12.99. The things that were on the high side were the super collectible action figures and other memorabilia… but again, it wasn’t higher than your average comic book shop in the area.
The problem with finding this place before heading into Universal was that I didn’t want to carry everything around while in the park and the store was closed when we got out. It just means I need to make a trek up to the store during the week to buy all the geeky crap that I missed out on the first time around.
Staff was nice and there were lots of people walking around to help. I’ll definitely be back!

Love to stop by this spot after work since I work at uni. I do feel like since they changed locations (they are now located in a larger spot where game stop use to be next to the city walk AMC theater) they are disorganized. The shelves that hold their comics seemed oddly spaced out, and figures can also take up spots on shelves below books. Maybe its just because I am not use to the new spot yet or they haven’t completely settled in yet…
The employees are for the most part very friendly and helpful and are knowledgeable about what they carry which is a huge plus. Of course there will be that one employee that has the personality of a croûton and seems very unapproachable, but good thing they are always well staffed so you can ask someone else.
They can be a bit pricey with the figures that you can get online cheaper, but they can also carry great deals on figures that are cheaper than online! Just got to know what you are looking for when you step in.
You must stop by when you come to city walk!
*also a huge note: at some comic book stores you can get glaring looks from employees that make you feel like you don’t belong in the store. Not at all here!

My son loves this place is a must every time we come to universal city. I always have a awesome time just looking around. Thanks to this place I’m thinking of decorating my apartment like a teenage boys room. Great place.

Such a great shop. I do love coming here. They carry mostly newer comics and a lot of merchandise like tshirts, Keychain, figurines, stickers and much more. I’d definitely recommend checking them out

First time visiting this place on the way back from Universal Studios. I love the place and I love looking for anything relating to comic books, tv shows, and classic items from movies. I was searching for a Rick Grimes series 1 FunkoPop! for months & I finally found him and own him! Who of thought I would round up getting him here! Absolutely, coming here next time when I’m in the area! :)

This place is the best in city walk it has a ton of comics even back orders, the collectibles are great, the guys working there are pretty chill, overall love this place can’t wait to go back

This is a pretty cool Comic and Collectible shop part of the Universal Citywalk. The Spaceship outside is awesome looking and they have a good amount of Graphic Novels to choose from as well as loads of toys and collectibles. The prices are a little high for some things, but they do have a lot of Dark Horse comic stuff that you can’t find other places. Also have a great selection of T-​Shirts and posters as well (usually you can get some sale prices on that stuff). Love checking this place out whenever at the Citywalk. Would probably go more if parking for Citywalk wasn’t so expensive!

The coolest thing about this shop is the crashed spaceship looming above you as you walk in.
It’s very small but boasts a decent collection of comics and collectibles. It is definitely geared towards whichever movies are playing at the nearby theatre, or whatever Universal is promoting at the time, but that is to be expected since it’s Universal City.
They generally have cool T-​shirts and posters for sale in the back but everything else is pretty generic. Don’t expect to find anything obscure or hard-​to-​find, just popular issues and what’s hot right now.

Pros: Tons of really cool stuff!
The hubby collects Deadpool stuff and the staff knew their inventory really well. They also knew what items might be available at Hot Topic next door. We ended up getting an epic t-​shirt and some Yoshi lip balm that is quite tasty (and priced the same as regular Chapstick from Crow’s Nest… I leave my balm at home a lot.)
Cons: Really, really crowded in the evening!

I hate writing crummy reviews for comic/​nerd collectible shops. I do. But – sorry. 70% of this shop’s wares are Walking Dead related. But that’s what the kids are into these days. Or whatever. Meanwhile, they had FIVE Doctor Who items. FIVE. One of which was a random character that was part of a pack of villains in ONE episode. So not only was the selection crummy, whoever is ordering for the shop has little to no knowledge about the content of the shows/​books/​franchises (?) of the stuff they sell in the shop. I mean, they had a pretty solid section of Monster High stuff, so I should’ve known better. But I was holding out hope for something more. They had a large selection of Funko toys ($ 9 – 10), but that would ever bring me back to the store. Color me disappointed.

TFAW has been my favorite store at City Walk as far back as I can remember.
I always love to come in and Geek Out even if I don’t have enough $$$ to spend on cool stuff I really don’t need whether it be Comics/​Graphic Novels to some Collectible, T-​shirt or action figure.
Note to the wise… if some of the things I mentioned above are not your cup of Tea, then I suggest not to come in.
Also, my biggest and only Gripe I have with the store is that their prices are usually Jacked up, and some of the items could be found cheaper Online, or at other stores.
…Still, every once in a while, there is that one Cool item I’d like to pick up right then and there.
Some people have complained before that the shop is a bit small, but it’s not an issue for me.

Its creative to come in here.
Its a bit crazy & bizarre the type of croud at this store.
Reminds me of the comic store the guys from the show of «The big bang theory» go to every Wednesday.
My brother is so much into stuff like that, so we usually stop by, just to check out whats new.

This review isn’t for the shop itself so much as their Away Team that they send to cons.
It’s gotten to the point in Southern California that your comic convention isn’t quite complete until you have furries, a mysterious cloud of BO wafting through the exhibit hall, and booths representing Golden Apple and Things From Another World.
TFAW’s booth is really one of the places to be what with their tables just lined with graphic novels knocked down 50% with specials if you buy multiples. They’re particularly competitive on the Sundays/​last day of the con, when everyone is more interested in shopping and attendee numbers tend to dwindle. Some cons they’ll sell you comics at a quarter of the cover price, and you’ll see swarms of people around them, elbowing each other at the tables.
Many of the books are marked «Scratch and Dent» as they have minor flaws and are thus drastically discounted. They also haul along a large amount of toys and figures, and I’ve watched people snatch those up with gusto, pleased with the price.
At this last WonderCon, they were practically the official retailer of «Game of Thrones» merch since HBO’s booth of the con was just a photo shoot set-​up where they Photoshop’d your head onto a pike. TFAW sold me an official Hand of the King pin nearly $ 10 below what HBO wants on their site when you include shipping. Throughout the con, people wandered up to me to ask where I got the pin. I referred them over to TFAW, and they got excited remembering that’s where they bought their cheap comics.
As for their actual brick-​and-​mortar set-​up, I echo the comments of people saying they’re unfortunately having to cater to the tourists that make up the majority of City Walk’s population. I just don’t see it being a go-​to for regulars, especially considering the steep garage prices.

All the toys are marked up 100% and they don’t have any first issues in stock so if you want to start reading a graphic novel you’d have to begin on volume 4.
If you want to be completely ripped off and charged absurd prices for cheap stuff then I’d say «Things from another world» is for you

When your at City Walk, you have to visit this place.
This store always has the latest and greatest updated comics as well as most of the hardcovers and paperbacks.
The quality for items both rare and updated is awesome.
The staff is helpful and takes care of the customer. Yes its at City Walk and at times can be crowded, but that’s the nature of the beast.

What to buy? What to buy? Some many cool things. Not enough money or space to display all the cool stuff that I want to buy. So that’s why I stick to one or two items. This past visit I bought a Captain America plush. I was going to go for the wallet, but it felt and looked cheaply made. Plus it had a chain. A chain? Really? Do people use those anymore?
It’s certainly a touristy place. Similar to a real comic book store with their (small) section of new comics, their wall of trade paper backs (bigger than most of my local comic book stores) and busts/​statues/​figures. Those last items are what draw my attention. They have a nice little selection and they look amazing. My favorite on my last visit was the Scarlet Witch (Marvel Comics) with a remote control Vision toy. Looked amazing. I want it, but alas it was around $ 300. Definitely worth it, if you can afford it. The Maleficent (Disney’s «Sleepy Beautiful») was also eye-​catching.
They also have regular «action» figures., but from what I saw (and what has been reviewed here) are a bit much. Probably because they have whole sets and thus wouldn’t have to go searching if you wanted a certain one. Their t – shirt collection was okay. Nothing struck my eye. The two Darth Vader tees weren’t that interesting. Almost imitation and not something licensed.
Come here to browse at all they have on display, but not if you’re looking for a serious comic book store. Sure you can pick up a couple new comics, but I couldn’t see myself coming here on a weekly basis. Just doesn’t have that comic shop feel to it.
Again, not a bad place though.
