Revenge of the Mummy – The Ride

Fun indoor roller coaster in the dark! A nice change from all the 3-​D experiences at Universal. I’d definitely recommend waiting for this one.

One of my favorite rides here this is a roller coaster type ride. First before getting in line you must place your bags and purses or anything that you are holding on to into the lockers provided before the line, there were a couple of people who had to leave the ride cause they still had their backpacks or purses with them while trying to get on the ride. On to the ride it starts off slow kinda like a causal roller coaster then bam takes off fast and then a sudden stop then bam goes backwards fast oh I love it I wish it did it twice or was longer. I recommend this ride if you like crazy roller coasters.

In terms of fast, action packed rides, Revenge of the Mummy is IMO the best ride at Universal Studios.
Surprisingly the wait for this ride was not bad, which was roughly 20 min. Its pretty much a fast paced roller coaster ride in the dark with elements from from movie. You’ll be kept up on your toes during the duration of the ride. Best part was that they do take a pic of you at some point of the ride. Our group picture was hilarious (and was worth paying the $ 25 for).
Like what another review stated, this is similar to the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland. I also like that there were no 3D visuals involved so it was refreshing to go on this ride.

If you like to shaken up or are feeling sleepy, this ride will help you wake up :)
It is really fast and amazing. I love the fact that it is not like the other rides in the park and has something unique. I don’t want to spoil the ride for you by giving too many details. Just make sure to be cautious and use the lockers near to the ride to keep any of your stuff.
There is a short line for singles. It is easier to take that than to wait for more than 40 mins. Try taking the seats on the back if you can. You will enjoy more :) Hold on to your lives and enjoy the ride

Wow! I had no idea it was a rush of adrenaline.
ET the ride used to be here, but boy its no ET caliber ride. From a pokey slow ride to an almost rollercoaster rush, this ride will wake you up.
It reminded me of Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom at DIsneyland… you start off in a car, and the bad guy curses you. so I thought cool, we’re going to be «chased». WRONG! We were running for our lives as the Mummy’s Curse was trying to kill us.
If you’re not into fast rides which gives you a rush, this is not for you.
I had no clue what kind of ride it was. and I was definitely surprised!

Haven’t been here in over a decade and wanted to give this ride a go since when I was a child I was not brave enough to do so.
It was definitely a fun ride. However, I’m a scaredy cat and can barely handle haunted mansion in Disneyland so I had to keep my eyes closed the entire time.
Definitely not my cup of tea, but glad to have a thrill ride and not a 3D ride for once!

this ride is always fun with the line set up, designs of the interior, the mummy giving his speech and YOUR SOULS BELONG TO MEEE
but as for the coaster itself, I’m just not a fan of it and get sick easily, granted there aren’t any loops or drops, there are sharp turns and rapid movements so be warned

I came on to this ride expecting to be crap and guess what I was so amazed it now sits in my top 10 of 75 Rollercoasters! The Theming is amazing and the launch is the best. I don’t understand the bad reviews I really don’t! This ride does not get you sick at all, unlike the simulators! I’ve never rate my coasters by duration like many people here. Cause there is a thing such as a long boring coaster. If you can have a short but awesome coaster then it’s good! And this is no exception! Great airtime theming and operations! This is the fastest operations on a coaster I’ve seen! Remember that’s 75 different coasters I’ve ridden. I say it’s for sure a must ride when coming to Universal Hollywood. This is from a coaster enthusiast, you will not be disappointed!

If you’re a thrill seeker then this ride is for you. Most of the coaster ride is in the dark, so you really have no idea what’s coming up. It’s quite an adrenaline rush and I loved every minute of it. Enter if you dare! Muahahaha: P

I like this one better than the Orlando one… the Orlando ride is comparable to Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, where as the Hollywood ride is a smoother roller coaster ride.

Love how it surprisingly speeds to it’s fullest after passing through the gold area. I like how it goes back wards as well. Unfortunately, the ride is really short. :(

The mummy ride is way too short of a ride for the wait, even in a single rider line. If you’re short on time, skip this and go on the Jurassic ride twice. It goes forward for seconds, lights flash, then you go backwards. The end.

This ride was pretty awesome because I’m a huge Mummy fan but again I was a little sick to my stomach and it was pretty creepy/​weird how it felt like the bugs were on you!

This was a pleasant surprise and what I would consider a must ride at Universal. i thought all the rides here were the virtual kind, not actual coasters. This one surprised me and was a fun ride in the dark. Lines were non-​existant so we rode it twice.
It’s no Six Flags coaster, but it includes decent speeds, no loops, but a lot of fun.
I’d consider this a must do at Universal.

A thrilling and suspenseful ride. I thought that it was a little bit too short and I didn’t think that is was as good as the Jurassic park ride though. Probably the most THRILLING ride at Universal Studios.

This is the only non 3D and actual roller coaster ride at Universal (right now) Line isn’t too long and free lockers allow you to store your purse/​bag away.
It’s really fast ride! So, if the line IS long I suggest putting on your list for later in the day when there’s not as long of a line.

WARNING: Very fast and it goes forward and then backward too! If you are sensitive to quick/​sudden motions this might not be the best ride for you. As soon as I got off I immediately felt dizzy, even though most of the rides I go in usually ok with. The ride does have really awesome VFX but I wish they would update it a little — it looks the same even after 5 or so years!
Universal studios does have single rider so make sure to try and take advantage of this! Mummy ride is on this single riser program! :)

OK… while I will greatly miss the ET ride guess if they had to pick a replacement. this was a good ride to choose.
As one of the few rides that is not a 3d/​4d movie experience… it is a great roller coaster ride!!!
The line is interesting. There are a couple movie props spread throughout the line as well as the hole in the wall where you stick your hand in and get a blast of air that is known to scare many newbies.
It can get pretty dark in the line and you lose phone service being in the lower lot, but it movies rather quickly.
They have a single rider line if you do not want to wait.
The picture taking occurs at the beginning of the ride… photo cue: «now your soul belongs to me!» (yes i have been on the ride quite a few times)
There are lockers to hold your belongs, but they is a small pouch that can hold a phone, wallet, sunglasses, etc.
If you time it out really well, you can go on the mummy and jump to jurassic (with your stuff still in the locker to avoid getting it wet)
the whole ride goes forward. stops…and then does the entire track backwards. It is a great roller coaster and I love it!

I am usually scared of rollercoasters but this one i can handle with just the right amount of nervousness just because it’s a pretty short ride so in the end you might even consider riding it again! I know i did (consider, that is). The super fast speed of this ride is what makes it so thrilling! The initial part where it hurtles you into the darkness, is the BEST part.

This is a great ride. It is short, easy, and one of the only real roller coasters in the park.
If you’re a roller coaster fan and don’t mind waiting then you’ll enjoy the ride.
The anticipation is bigger than the ride so if you’re nervous, just try it!

Aw yeah now you’re talking. The only actual roller coaster at Universal. I rode it maybe 3 times the day we were here. The line was not so long because we were there on a Wednesday, but it was actually fun going through the line because of all of the cool things inside of the mummy’s tomb. Try putting your hands where they maybe don’t belong and get a spooky surprise…
DON’T DESECRATE THE TOMB! Because we rode it 3 times we kind of saw the ride throughout the day. Someone stuck gum on the walls. It’s just a bummer to see this kind of thing. I (hopefully) know Universal cleans it every day, but seriously: there are trash cans EVERYWHERE. Don’t stick your gum on the Egyptian girl’s nipples.
Ride itself is pretty short but pretty fun. The start is probably the scariest because it goes from nothing to fast in just a few seconds. Lots of neon in the dark makes the ride feel bigger than it is. This ride takes NO backstory necessary and is really fun to ride over and over again!
Probably my favorite ride of the day although it’s so short. Probably sat longer in the car waiting to get out than I did on the ride. Universal needs more rides like this!

I love this ride!!! Completely unexpected what happens at «the end» (don’t want to spoil it if you’ve never been). I will say, the line can be a bit daunting for such a short ride. Try and do this one first and get it out of the way.
Cool thing: when I went, because the wait was so «long» (45 minutes), they had a worker out in the crowd asking trivia questions for free front of the line passes

We got in the singles ride hoping our wait wouldn’t be long, but even then we had to wait about 45 minutes. The ride is cool. The acceleration is amazing and the twists and turns remind me of Space Mountain at Disneyland. Then it takes you backwards. At that point I thought there was more to the ride but it just ended. A very short ride that should have been twice as long.

Fun indoor roller coaster!

Possibly the BEST ride at Universal Studios and possibly the LONGEST line as well. So don’t waste any time and RUN to this specific ride.
There’s lockers by the entrance, so you can store your bags/​any large items and it’s for free, you just have to remember what locker number you put it in. If it’s busy, it’s probably an hour wait and loops around inside. It’s pretty dark inside, but the important part is the actual ride itself.
Each row fits 4 people and I highly recommend sitting in the front to see all the action. The great part is that it STARTS off thrilling and it’s basically like someone shooting a gun and a bullet speeds right out. It’s exciting and it takes a second for your heart to catch up with the rest of your body. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending because there’s a long pause at the end. I mean I know it’s supposed to slow down but it’s just straight up, PAUSE, and then it slowly brings you back to the start line.
But overall, LOVE THIS RIDE! DOOOO ITTTTT!

I didn’t get on the ride as you are not allowed to carry any bags or anything but there are lockers provided where you get 90 mins free but the queues for the ride was 90 mins and I couldn’t work out how to use the locker system!

So fun! Roller coaster in the dark that goes super fast. So fast I couldn’t have my purse on it, I had to leave it with a friend. They have lockers too.
Creepy mummies coming out of ceilings, dark with lighted mummy images, and you go forward and backward. It’s hard to explain the ride other than to encourage you to just try it so you can see how fun it is!
A word or caution-​really fast and dark so if that’s not your thing maybe sit it out.

I didn’t expect a roller coaster when I got on this ride. It was billed to me as similar to the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland. How wrong it was. The only thing similar is that there is the archaeology theme. That is about it.
Sitting down expecting a nice thematic romp through a tomb instead turned into a high speed roller coaster through images of skeletons, ghosts, and of course mummies. The speed comes on suddenly too.
And then you slow down and go backwards! You go through another part of the backwards. In the meantime, the ride is completely dark save for the apparitions that appear.
It’s a fun roller coaster ride but it was billed as something more casual to me. Don’t be surprised like I was.

Can’t believe it’s already been about a month since I was here. Time sure does fly!
This place had the longest line at Universal Studios, so is it worth it? Yes, and no. Be prepared to wait. Like an hour long wait. Bring a book, or you life lesson plan, or bring someone who can keep up a conversation, because you will be waiting. For a long time. Just when you think you’re close to the end, you’re not.
This is universal’s take on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, but faster and cheaper looking. I remember being more impressed when I first went, but that was like 10 years ago. A lot changes in 10 years.
The ride itself will shake you inside and out, so be prepared for some quick twists and turns. Hair will fly into your face if you’re not careful. It’s really dark too, so if you’re afraid of the dark, don’t go on this ride!
Overall, it’s over pretty quick, but it’s fun while it lasts.

Trust me when I say that I am NOT a roller-​coaster person. Tears seriously just come out involuntarily when I go on roller-​coasters. But somehow this ride is very manageable for me. The backwards part can get kinda on the verge of too exhilarating but it’s within my acceptable range haha. Definitely try this out, even if you don’t think you’re a roller-​coaster maniac. It’s a lot of fun.

You can use the lockers at the Mummy ride. They are Free for the first 90 minutes!!!
The ride is very short but is designed as a high speed roller coaster. Its going to be dark and be prepared to go in a fast front and backward motion.
