King Kong 360 3-D

Part of the studio tour which is so fun and probably my favorite ride at Universal! Don’t miss it!

this was an okay part of the tram ride, not sure if it still available but last i remember it was cool seeing King Kong but the way the «movie» is set up you can’t see the entire thing from either side so you’re bound to miss out most of the show if you sit on one side or the other

Amazing! If you haven’t done the tram in a while like me, then you have to check this out!
I want to do it again to watch the other parts I missed.
Tip: you may want to cover anything you don’t want to get wet.

I purchased two Halloween horror night tickets for October 3, 2015. I accidentally put the wrong email, so I called and spoke to a representative to see if there was anything that could be done. The first representative told me there was nothing I could do and that he could not resend the tickets to the correct email, and that I had to go in and speak with the people at the ticket booth so that they could re-​print my ticket. After much debate, I asked one more time, if there was any way someone could resend the tickets to the correct email, he told me he could have me speak to customer care and they would be able to resend my ticket. What I do not understand is, if that was at all possible, why did he not just transfer me to customer care in the first place. He finally told me he was going to transfer me, but instead he just hung up. I had waited 30 minutes to just speak to a representative in the first place, and I had no way to look for customer care’s number, so I had to wait another 20 minutes to speak to another representative so that they could transfer me to the correct person. I spoke to someone at customer care and they told me I had to call back in an hour to get that emailed to me. I asked her if there was a direct number that I could call to just reach customer care instead of calling Universal Studios Hollywood, she said she was not sure and told me to hold, and hung up. So I waited two hours to call back to give everyone enough time, and called Universal Studios Hollywood again, and I got the rudest representative I have ever spoke to. I told her the situation and how I have called 3 times before, and she told me there was no way possible to email me my tickets and that I was just wasting my time. I told her what the customer care person told me, and she said no that it was not possible. I asked her to be transferred and she would not transfer me to customer care, instead she gave me the number and told me I had to call myself and that she would not transfer my call. I just cannot understand why she was arguing with me and was being so rude, and hung up on me. Is this the way you treat your customers? I finally was able to reach customer care, and finally I spoke with someone who was competent enough to help me. She was very sweet and very quick to email me my tickets and send me on my way. I do not understand why it had to be so difficult.

Was a fun surprise to get to go through two 360 3-​D events on the Studio Tour! The King Kong one was better than Fast and Furious, in my opinion. Going inside the cave was a nice break from being in the warm sun. Also, probably one of the better 3D experiences at Universal.
One note of advice: You will get wet if you sit on the outsides of the tram. I was sitting on the outside maybe 4 rows back and got pretty wet on my sides and even got water in my eye from actually looking at the experience. That’s my only downside about this ride is that the water came out of nowhere. But I enjoyed it and was able to dry off quickly.

I remember the Original King Kong ride on the studio tour. Oh how I lamented when they tore it down… I think I still have a picture of me with my brother and father in the clutches of King Kong after the ride;) Nostalgia is so delicious!
Anyway, fast forward to when they opened King Kong 360 3D. Yeah it’s a mouthful. But it’s pretty cool. It’s amazing how real they can make a tram ride feel. I won’t ruin it for you but make sure to watch both sides as there will be things going on there as well… in case 360 in the name didn’t make think to check 360 degrees around you. Kids will love it but it may be kinda intense for the younger ones. They’ll live though. Toughen them up!

I am updating my review to say there has only been partial resolution to my problem, after going back and forth with universal customer service and not getting anywhere i decided to dispute with my bank, they were advised that i had already received a credit and the claim was closed! I still haven’t received credit for the second charge they processed. Called my bank today and will reclaim (again). Feel so unbelievably frustrated, i dint do anything wrong but still I’m being penalized, will never visit universal again, kinda sad because my son loves it and we were planning on going for his birthday. If you do decide to go after this post, please take cash, don’t pay anything credit/​debit you might find yourself in my situation.

Part of the Studio Tour, it’s a virtual attraction that is executed very well. The tram shakes and rattles as you watch Kong battle dinosaurs on either side of you. Make sure you grab your 3D glasses before boarding the tram.

Last year I had the 2014 season pass and I must say it was worth it. It was buy a day get 2014 free for about $ 84. I think we went here 10 times and each visit was a blast! Since it’s a movie theme park, most of the rides besides the Mummy and Jurassic Park rides were simulators. I’d say you’ll be able to go on all the rides/​attractions in 2 days. Food is expensive and so is the parking ($ 15 even w/​the pass). The rides are fun, but the simulators give you a headache. It also gets really hot so I suggest you bring a hat, sunglasses, LOTS of water, and snacks. I LOVE the shows here and the studio tour. My absolute favorite show is WATERWORLD!!! The stunts are so cool and the actors are famoous!!! Overall I think Universal Studios is a great themepark for all ages! :)

Great day with the family. We purchased the upgrade to front of line access for each ride one and it was worth every penny to not have to wait. Had my 10 and 3 year old with us along with two 5 year olds. It’s definitely a little scary for the 3 year old on most rides but the two 5 year old were fine on most rides and the older kids had a blast. Would come back again when my little one is a little older so she can enjoy it more.

I appreciate the nostalgia of the ride with the old Hollywood feel and sets. But the rides main attraction is supposed to be the King Kong the ride. You go on a hour long tram ride which is nice to get off your feet while a person gives you a go around of different sets used throughout the years at universal studios.
The wait if you go in the morning is only like 10 – 15 minutes. The sets were cool to see. The pyscho scene with the Bates hotel was cool along with seeing the King Kong movie props.
The King Kong part of it is cool but short. I hear they’re supposed to be extending the show of King Kong which would be nice. It would be 5 stars once they increase the ride time of King Kong

This was a surprise ride at the end of the Studio tour and was the best ride I had at the Universal studio.
It is a 3D ride with Tram moving and shaking around. The concept of the ride is King Kong vs the dinosaurs and sequence was taken from the last movie of king kong. Make sure to follow King Kong on both big giant screen.
Its a MUST at King Kong.

the first time I saw this it was one of my favorites instantly.
we went a 2^nd time about 8 months later and afterwards I didn’t realize it was the same one. I totally missed king kong the 2^nd time. I guess it was the seat on the tram where I was.

King Kong The Ride was the highlight of the Tram Ride! It was the first of the many little bits that they do on the tram ride and I enjoyed it a lot!
The 360 3-​D graphics were so very unique and I enjoyed watching King Kong battle it out with the dinosaurs! You really feel like you have been placed in the middle of the jungle with the graphics.
Loved it and will certainly be back again!

It’s what I look forward to on the Studio Tour. The 3D is excellent and makes you feel like you’re part of the action. Don’t forget to look at both screens (left and right). There’s so many things going on!
By far, this is the best ride at Universal Studios. Yes, even better than Transformers The Ride 3D =P

IT’S FREAKEN KING KONG BABY, AND ITS IN 360 3-​D!!! What other more iconic movie monster can you think of that can out scare KING KONG? Definitely the highlight of the tram ride at Universal Studios, King Kong the Ride is exactly what its sounds like.
The whole tram is literally driven into the world of King Kong where prehistoric dinosaurs have an old fashion slug fest with the King of the jungle Kong who just puts everyone in their proper places down the food chain. The tram is literally in the thick of the whole rumble so be prepared to be thrown around inside the tram a little bit. You will also probably get a little wet on this ride as well since you get sprayed with a little bit of water. There are two screens along the sides of the tram but they are so big and concave it literally feels like you are surrounded by screens. The 3D is not the greatest but the whole experience with a moving tram, compressed air, and water being blasted at you, the whole experience is second to none.

Hate to said, the 3d is pretty bad despite is kinda new, 3d more medicore better than the shrek, and definite not better than terminator 3d. However it does has pretty good shaking, but is bit too short.
The good thing is part of the studio ride no crazy long wait time needed.
However is quite unique in term of 2 big giant screen if 3d is better it will be much cooler.

Amazing. Back when I first heard they were replacing my beloved King Kong with a 3-​D version I was skeptical. I know it’s not the most advanced animatronic figure, but I had a sentimental affinity towards him. After riding the new and improved 3-​D version last year for the first time, I was sold.
They were able to incorporate all the things I loved about the old King Kong, but really add story and depth to the ride as a whole. On my most recent visit to Universal, I was reminded how much I really like this version. I always leave wanting to go back in and do it over again. Love this ride!

King Kong 3-​D The Ride Deserves more than 1 review and definitely more than 3-​stars.
Jon B. must live in a fantastic world where his imagination is projected around him in 3-​D to give this marvelous piece of tech and fantasy a mere A-​Okay 3 stars.
I’ve only gone on the Universal Studio tour twice in the past year and both times have been in the rear car. I’d like to run through again on a second or third car for another view of the action packed battle that takes place around the tram.
