Specialties
We specialize in Filipino breads and baked goods, as well as the following Guamanian products: Empanada*, Guava Cake, Buchi Buchi*, Pantosta, Latiya, Manha Tatiya*, Guguria, Roskette and Bunuelos. We also specialize in birthday, wedding, and other custom cakes or cookies.
*Please note that marked items take 15 minutes to cook. We highly suggest calling in your order ahead of time.
Our cake ordering policy is three days prior to your event and two weeks prior for customized cake orders.
History
Established in 1923.
Elite Bakery is a family-owned business, first created in the Philippines (Cebu) by our grandfather, Tinong Villo, in 1923. Our father, Ambrose, opened his first store in Mabolo, Cebu in 1967. He later established two branches in Guam: our main branch in Tamuning (1974), and one in Agat (1980). A fourth location was opened in the nearby island of Rota in 1996.
We opened our Union City location — the newest addition — in 2012, after having moved from our old location in Milpitas (1982 – 2012). My sister Grace and I — I’m Ken! — manage this bakery, and have three generations of baking experience and culinary expertise between the both of us. I am a 1998 graduate of the California Culinary Academy of San Francisco.
