Aki Todd DDS

By far the most attentive, caring, and friendliest staff ever! I only have nothing but the best to say about this practice.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Aki since I was in middle school and still to this day. Which I am now in College. It is a great feeling to know that they want to follow up, even after having my braces off. It shows that they care about their patients and are willing to help solve any concerning issues.
Just walking into their offices, the entire staff knows you by name! The staff are incredibly polite and are always asking about how you are doing. The office always has some sort of engaging activity/​game which can win you some sweet prizes. Even with out the games, it’s always a fun visit!
If you are looking for an Orthodontist who is very honest, suggestive, well educated and want nothing but the best for you, go to Dr. Aki.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. AKI. He is one of the few doctors I have which I actually enjoy seeing.
Dr. Aki was one of two orthodontists which I first saw when deciding who to go to for the very important teenage teeth straightening brace face days. Dr. Aki went with a much simpler route, not having to have braces on multiple times, but all in one shot. He made the process as comfortable and painless as possible. I’ve been braceless for 6 years now and my teeth are still as straight as ever.
Not only is Dr. Aki amazing at what he does, but he’s also one of the most personable friendly people around. Like I said I’ve been without braces for years now, yet for each maintenance appointment (now only once a year) he’s always interested in what I’ve been doing with my life since the last time I’ve seen him just as if I was still a patient there.
If you’re looking for an orthodontist who not only does amazing teeth straightening work, but is friendly, personable AND CARING then there’s no reason why you should choose anyone besides Dr. Aki.

Dr. Aki is sort of a family orthodontist. He helped my mother during her college years and then he fixed my brothers and mine! The environment in his office is comforting and friendly. The staff are some of the nicest people. The way they schedule patients is really efficient and the wait time isn’t something I worry about.
Even after my braces were off,
Dr. Aki would check up on my retainers and we found that my bottom ones were piercing my gums to bleed on occasions. So then Dr. Aki fixed it by giving me an different type of retainers.
He is an experienced orthodontist and I highly recommend him! Thanks Dr. Aki for making multiple family members smiles! :D

Dr. Aki and his office have been an instrumental part of my orthodontic experience. I’ve been with Dr. Aki and his office for much longer than I should have, due to my own fault’s, and they still treated me with respect even with the numerous amount of inconveniences. Such as giving me a discount for a new retainer because my teeth had moved during one of my college summer vacations.
They are a wonderful group of people to know and to trust;
I highly recommend Dr. Aki and his office to anyone who wants good people that are sincere and accommodating.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience here. Dr. Aki and everyone that works there are amazing. They know you by name and care to get to know you. The office itself is very clean and inviting. When the waiting room is packed, you never wait longer than 10 – 15 minutes. If you come early, you can get seen earlier than your scheduled appointment time. From consultation, to adjustments & wire tightenings, to the yearly retainer checks, I don’t have anything bad or negative to say about this place. I would say the last appointment when they see you for the last time is kind of sad though; it almost feels like a small graduation. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Aki and his staff are simply amazing. I don’t see how anyone can say a negative thing about them.
Unlike big practices, Dr. Aki and his staff know every patient by name and they take the time to get to know you. Everyone is very friendly and genuine.
They follow up with yearly retainer checks. I don’t know how many of my friend’s teeth have shifted because they stopped wearing their retainers. This isn’t a problem when you know you have to see your orthodontist again.
The office itself is clean and inviting. And even on its busiest days when the entire waiting area is full I’ve never had to wait more then 10 minutes before being seen.
This practice supports it’s community. The hallway is filled with countless sports team pictures. They also hire students to help them gain experience in the medical field.
And most importantly, the end product. I have to admit, I was a pretty ugly child. I use to have an severe under bite. This is when the lower jaw and teeth protrudes further then the upper jaw. Now everywhere I go I get complimented on my smile.
I can’t recommend this place enough.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Aki and staff since second grade (I’m 21 now) and every visit has certainly been like seeing old relatives. The office is conveniently located in the heart of UC, so you’ll see a ton of kids walking to their appointments in addition to people driving to the office.
I was referred to Dr. Aki by my dentist because my two front teeth were crooked and I had an overbite. I totally agree with reviewer katherine y., from consultation to retainer checks, everything has been quick, painless, and extremely positive. What sets this office apart from the rest is that you really feel cared for by everyone, from Dr. Aki to Maddie the receptionist and all of the assistants. This really makes a difference as a little kid who was scared of getting braces (though at the same time kind of eager because they look pretty cool).
What to expect when you have a visit:
1) Get seated in a timely manner.
2) Everyone will ask how you’re doing, teeth-​wise and also just how you’re doing in general.
3) Any questions you may have are answered, the staff will take the time to make sure you know how far along the in the process you are with your teeth.
4) The office is super clean and well stocked. Also, lots of materials in the reading room, for adults and children.
5) They always really try to work with your schedule when it comes to appointments which, coming from a working class family with tight schedules, we really appreciate.
Dr. Aki is also a really big supporter of the community which speaks volumes about how caring he is in general. I love Dr. Aki and staff and really could not image myself and my teeth looking as beautiful at any other place!

In terms of braces (and perhaps other things) I was a late bloomer. I was 17 when I had my first consultation, so when all of my friends were being freed from their wires, I was getting strapped in.
Despite my reluctance, Dr. Aki and his staff were incredibly friendly and professional, and made it a point to make me feel as comfortable and at ease as possible. The office is extremely clean and kid-​friendly, and more than once I shamelessly pushed a kid off the game consul they have set up in the waiting room. They made no promises they couldn’t keep, and I got my braces on (and off!) without any incident.
If you’re thinking about (or just have to) get braces, I highly recommend this office.

This review is 7 – 8 years old. Long past due… but I thought I’d share the experience.
I came here with a fairly minor issue: a slight gap between my two front teeth. The problem was that even though it was very minor, my bottom teeth were perfectly straight and I had a really good, well fitting bite. I was told by various dentists that if I wanted the problem fixed, an orthodontist would need to move my jaw back (with the use of rubberbands) and close up the gap with braces.
I came to Dr. Aki without shopping around. Maybe I should have. He told me that my midline would shift slightly at the end of the process. RED FAWKING FLAG. Had I known this one thing would affect me for the rest of my life, I would have run for the hills.
This midline shift has caused me a number of problems: a locking jaw on the right side, known as TMJ (I brought this to his attention as soon as I started noticing it, and he kept telling me it «was nothing»), a midline that is an entire tooth off, and facial asymmetry as a result. It has affected me not just in terms of visual appearance, but over the past almost decade, I have found myself constantly biting my tongue on the right side, having lapses in speech from time to time, and constant pain from the clicking and locking of my jaw. I would not write a review to slam a business without reason, but I have done my fair amount of research. The misalignment of teeth is a BIG DEAL and is often a main cause all the symptoms I’ve experienced. Had he addressed my concerns, this would be a very different review. I do so now because other doctors recently confirmed that I have a sever case of TMJ and that proper alignment of my midline as well as fixing my gap should not be a problem.
I’m PISSED. Don’t go here.

Friendly staff and the waiting period wasn’t long at all. Although my daughter just got her spacers in today and’ll be getting her braces on next week, she’s still pretty excited=D
