Halo Salon

I have my eye lashes done here and I’m very pleased with the work they do. I also recently had my hair highlighted, low lighted, and cut here. I’m never happy with how my hair is done the first time. Well, I’m thrilled to say I’m very happy! I’ll definitely continue to get my lashes and hair done here!

Every time I have gone to Halo Salon I have walked out with exactly what I wanted. I live in LA, and have tried different hairdressers there and have never been as happy with those cuts as I am when Sima has cut mine. I highly recommend this salon and the hairdressers who work there!

I have had Sima and Cheryl do my brows, cuts and colors/​highlights. Always exactly what i wanted. My children also love going to get their hair cut at halo! Definitely would recommend them! Only complaint is these ladies are so good at their job you’ll be lucky to get a cut within a few days of calling! The shop is pretty. I love the way they have designed it from the floors up it’s great!

I love Halo. Kelsey is AMAZING and is always flexible and works with my work schedule and busy life with two little kids. The salon is beautiful and very relaxing place to get you hair done. Everyone is super nice and I have never had any problems.

I absolutely love Halo. When you walk in, everyone that sees you says hello. Tina is amazing. My husband, my son, and I all go to her to get our hair cut (and mine colored) and it always comes out amazing. Love the atmosphere. Soft, warm colors, and tidy work areas. All in all a great salon.

I absolutely love this Salon… but even more so my hairdresser, Tina! She takes care of all five of my family members. I always say… Tina is an artist! She loves what she does, and really puts a lot of thought into her cuts and colors. It’s so cool for me to go in and talk to someone who is having fun doing your hair!

Halo is a lovely little gem in Ukiah. Wonderful staff welcoming in not only me, but my husband and children! Rachael does a wonderful job patiently, and carefully cutting my toddler’s hair and always seems to be able to work around my husband’s busy schedule getting him for his cuts. Next week I am heading in for a facial with Kirchsti. Can’t wait to let my skin eat up the latest Eminence Organics indulgences. Yum. :)

Great salon !

Went in to get a haircut. The girls were very rude not very talkative seemed to me like they just wanted it to be time for their shift to be over. Will never return to this place. Plus their prices are outrageous paid 65 for a haircut! Save your money find someone friendly. Nothing worse then feeling unwelcomed.

I love this salon! I went to Halo for the first time yesterday and I am so glad I did! If you are looking for a stylist that is a true professional and that continues their education– this is the place for you! Walked out with a whole new style that I love!!! I would recommend this salon to everyone! AMAZING!!!

I went by Halo salon to meet the staff because they were going to do the hair/​makeup for my wedding. They seemed nice. I asked if we needed a contract or anything and they said no. After repeated attempts to contact the salon to get an answer on when I could do my trial, I had heard nothing back. I finally did get a hold of the woman who I had spoken to in person and she was downright rude on the phone and told me she’d call me back later. I never heard back from them. A month before my wedding I went and searched elsewhere for another salon in the area (I was getting married in a town nearby), and ended up at The Parlour — they were WONDERFUL.
I emailed Halo Salon to let them know that I wouldn’t be having them do my wedding, due to the terrible service I received, and I never heard back from them.

I was fortunate to be recommended to Halo Salon after noticing that so many of my coworkers have amazing hair. They recommended Sima at Halo for cut and color.
Sima has been cutting my hair for three years now (that’s crazy!), and she has colored it three times. When I got my first balayage style highlights, Sima had thought out a whole plan for me before I even arrived. And guys, it turned out great! It’s taken me a long time to think I’m freakin’ beautiful, and getting my hair did at Halo with Sima has helped me on my path to getting to the place where I feel like a babe all the time. She’s helped me change my part and play with red hair. She’s consistent and honest and works well with my hair decision anxiety!
Sima and the rest of the staff at Halo make you feel right at home, offering you beverages, noticing when the temperature in the salon is too warm or cold. What I am most impressed with, aside from their skills and talent and warmth, is their commitment to the community. Halo Salon hosted a fundraiser to benefit Mendocino County’s foster children and foster parents last summer – Halo provided a delicious barbecue meal and donated their talents to provide haircuts for these families, helping them feel beautiful as the summer began. Some of the girls had dramatic makeovers and still talk about what a wonderful experience it was for them. The monies helped to benefit Tapestry Family Service’s summer programs for foster children.
Halo Salon is the whole package for what I need for my hair, and I am continually impressed with their customer service and commitment to the community.

I love Halo. Jenna is amazing! Every time I leave I always love my hair. Everyone is super nice. I will never go anywhere else.

My professional life is based in Ukiah. I found this salon and have been returning since then to get my hair cut by Kelsey. She does a great job and I love having a stylist to rely on great haircuts.
Nice people and great prices for great cuts/​styling. Moving to this area from downtown Chicago living, the prices offered for ashampoo/​cut/​style at Halo Salon are fantastic for what I’m used to paying.
Will definitely continue to get my hair cut here!

Cute shop, off the beaten path. Jenna did a great job with a cut and color. The salon décor is really fun and fits the stylists that work there.

Everyone’s right in saying we have super limited options here in Ukiah. I’ve been bouncing around trying to find a good stylist fit for AGES. Went to Halo after I tried to make an appointment at Toppers and never got a call back.
Went in for long, blended layers. Pretty hard to f – k that up (nearly went to Super Cuts, it should be that fool proof). And my hair is fine. As in ‘Oh, it’s fine’, not ‘DAY-​yum! My hair is FINE’. I left with the exact same cut as the girl who was leaving when I arrived… and I remember thinking ‘That’s nice. Not what I want, but nice on her’.
Don’t remember the name of the woman who did the cut (unique name, but not the owner). All things considered, I’ll be back. The price was fair, and the cut is growing out well (won’t need to be back for ages).
3 ½ stars. A bit more ‘A-​OK’ than ‘Yay! I’m a fan.’

Sima has cut and colored my hair since they opened. I am especially happy with the service and was surprised and pleased to have a young salon owner provide services. Sima is newly and highly trained. She brings fresh ideas to my middle aged hair. I always feel brighter and younger when I leave. I read the negative review and was shocked because it doesn’t sound like the same salon. I’m sure that if the girls would have known, they would have happily done everything humanly possible to make the customer happy.

This is what I posted on FB after being very unhappy with the service at Halo. This was about a month ago, but the entire experience was so awful!
LFMF: If you’ve ever suspected that Ukiah may not be the best place to get your hair cut/​colored, go with your instinct!
Omg…first of all, highlights are super streaky and contrasty which I specifically said I do not want. It looks dated and it ages me. You know how older women «frost» their hair? Yeah.
Secondly, I said I wanted blunt bangs with no tapering (and I’d brought a picture) and ended up with an upside-​down feathery horseshoe which I’ve fixed as well as I can. At least they’re fairly long so it shouldn’t take *too* long to grow out again.
The rest of the cut is just long and layered throughout for movement, which in reality is hard to fuck up, if you ask me.
She was not friendly either. I don’t expect nor even want to chat up my stylist and pretend we’re friends socially, but I felt like she didn’t even want me there. She got dye on my face (in two spots) and hand, as well.
So now I get to feel foolish, miss the money I spent, wait a few days so as not to totally fry it, cover my bathroom in plastic wrap a la Dexter, and do it myself.
Lesson here: in Ukiah, a Rachel Bilson photo example may translate to Tina Yothers’ Family Ties cut in the hands of the wrong stylist.
Note: I later developed a chemical burn rash where she’d gotten hair color on my face!

i used to get my hair cut by a wonderful stylist in sf that used to be the creative director of vidal sassoon. so i’m picky about haircuts! when i came back to ukiah i had a lot of trouble finding a place that was up to standard: edgy, creative and professional. finally tried halo and it’s a match made in heaven. i looooooove cheryll. she worked some MAGIC on my hair. in my experience, the best hair salon in ukiah, and, so far, one of my favorite haircuts ever. the place is really cute, too, nice atmostphere, with an adorable little dog roaming around. the cut was $ 35, and if i could still afford it i would have paid twice that – maybe even thrice that – for a cut this good.
