We had them replace a high security lock we had inherited, but with none of the documentation needed to get new keys made. Tim was very professional and competent, and was able to give me a comprehensive quote for the entire replacement after sending him a few pictures. Everything was so very quick and efficient, in less than 24 hours we had a quote and a same week appointment to come out and change our locks. Tech Dean had the entire thing taken care of in under 30 minutes. The entire process was great!

Had a couple unique key «blades» that I needed made for a Keyport device. Wasn’t sure if they would have ever seen such keys but they had. I was in an out of there with 2 keys copied for about $ 5 in less than 5 minutes. The staff was courteous and the key was precisely copied. Would definitely recommend these guys!

We were in need of a spare laser cut key for my son’s car and came across this place as one of the few that has a storefront where you can walk in. I called and spoke to Tim and explained what we needed, and since it was after their store hours (open in the mornings at the store and then mobile service in the afternoon), I told him we would swing by in the morning.
The location is kind of tucked away in a small complex, but signage was ample and made it easy to find. Walked in and Tim remembered me from the day before (he even remembered the year of the car).
He did the replacement plastic housing for the key remote and cut a new key without all the remote functionality for a very good price.
When we went out with him to make sure the keys worked, Tim did something that was probably just a habit for him but said a lot to me. Before he sat down in the car, he did a quick «pocket check» looking for sharp objects that might poke a hole in the seat. Wow!
Based upon this experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again!

Best place ever if you want your car keys cut. I went to ACE, HomeDepot, Lowes, all showed middle finger for cutting the keys I brought. Also, called a handful of other 5-​star locksmith places like «Joe Joe’s Lock and Key», «Airport Lock & Safe», etc. They all said no, they couldn’t do it.
I called this place and was told that they cut car keys (already programmed the remote and transponder). It took him 2 minutes to cut. Both keys fit the key cylinder and started my car without any issues. If you need you car keys cut in Irvine, this is the place to go! Do not waste your time elsewhere. Make sure call them up before you go, as this is the busiest shop in Irvine.

Just purchased a custom deadbolt for a residential area. Working with them was very good, very laid back, and they didn’t trying to push more expensive locks on me when they found out that I wanted slightly better than, «HomeDepot,» quality.
They were going to sell me a Schlage «outer lock» and replace the cylinder with a high security one, but found out it wouldn’t work, so they set me up with a «outer» deadbolt that was less expensive to work with their recommended core.
Took a star off because their hours are a little limited (no weekends) and I thought they may have not been as «vigilant» about the dangers of lock bumping, picking, and vulnerabilities of Medeco locks. HOWEVER, my research may be incomplete as I don’t have much experience with the security industry — mostly lost a star because of the hours/​convenience.
They also had a lot of cool safes, key blanks, and gadgets like the camera peep hole. One of the only dealers of «BiLock» local.
Highly recommended and I will go back, even though it will be kind of a pain with the hours/​location from where I work/​live and my schedule.

Got 2 locks rekeyed here. Cheapest way to rekey your locks for any reason!
I forget the exact price, but I think it was ~$ 15 per lock if you bring it to their retail location.
This is ALOT cheaper then a mobile company which charges you ~$ 30 – 40 just to go to your house, then $ 20+ per lock to rekey. So overall, for those 2 locks, instead of $ 80, we paid ~$ 30 with 2 keys.
The only drawback is that you need to know how to disassemble/​reassemble the knob into your door. Took me awhile to figure out since the knot fell off when I unscrewed the screws, but if you pry it off slowly, and look at the mechanism, it’s quite easy.
To take apart: unscrew screws on the side of the door, where the latch assembly is— take off the faceplate and latch assembly — SLOWLY pull the both sides of the door knobs apart (while looking at the mechanism-​what goes where). OR, just look at a video online.
Service was quick, and friendly for my transaction.

I have 2007 Acura TL Type-​S that I bought used earlier this year. I typically use the electronic key fob buttons to open/​close the doors. What I realized after awhile was that I couldn’t open the car door manually with the key. The key wouldn’t go into the door lock all the way and did not turn properly. Not an urgent problem, but if the battery or electrical malfunctioned in the car, I wouldn’t be able to open the car manually with the key.
I called Tustin Lock & Safe earlier today and told Tim the situation. I dropped by shortly after and he came out to look at the lock. He brought some tools out and and inspected the lock and was able to find just a piece of debris that was lodged in the lock keeping it from operating properly.

I called California Keys Locksmith was going to charge me $ 175.00 (whether I brought my car to them or they come to my house) to fix my problem. Granted, they assumed the worse that they’d have to dissasemble the car door to fix the lock.

I wish I didn’t have to put one star… I’d really rather have minus stars. It’s unreal how many positive reviews I see here. I must have talked to someone having a really bad day. Too sad one person can have enough influence to inspire me to write this review. I’ve only written positive things. I’m almost glad he was the way he was… I am now sure… where before, I was hesitant to call them… I will NEVER call again… I’m quite sure they’re as happy as I am about this.

What a disappointment — no message on their website that they’d be closed on Friday, July 5, 2013, and when I get there there’s a flashy LED sign illuminated «OPEN» falsely promoting their presence. Blows!

How many people work here? I went by today to get some keys made. A sign on the door stated, «Emergency call out, will be back at 11:00am» So no one helped me and I took my business somewhere else, Lowes. Long story short, call first before wasting your time going to the shop!!!

I usually take my keys to be copied at Ace Hardware but the last time the keys didn’t work and I had to go back 2. This time, I had 6 keys to be made and they are the «Do No Duplicate» ones. So I decided to find a more specialized place… I Unilocaled it and found Tustin Lock & Safe.
Tim was the guy who helped me, he was very nice and knowledgeable.
Since I was making a copy of a «do not duplicate» key, I needed a letter authorizing me to make copies of the keys on the company letter head. I had issues emailing him the copy sent by my office and he was very patient about it.

We are also looking at safes so I asked him about it and he was very knowledgeable as well about safes as well. I totally recommend this place and will definitely go back when necessary! We will be going back at safes since he said their prices are $ 30% below retail!

Great service. I needed a key cut for my vehicle and it was quick and hassle free.

This place is great! I came here to get a couple of keys copied. One was a car key that was made from titanium and even though the material was difficult to cut through, they did an awesome job! Right from the beginning they were friendly and professional. I was given the price beforehand and the keys were made in about 5 – 10 minutes! Very quick and great workmanship! Tested both keys right outside in the parking lot and they work great. Very satisfied!

We stopped by early Saturday morning to get some keys made. We have searched high and low for a place other than a car dealership to make copies of our car keys. For $ 65 you can get yourself a copy of your car key with programing. Basically they just clone your key.
Tustin Lock and Safe will be our new go to key place.
