Established in 2010.

After working for dealerships for over 15 years, we decided to start our own automotive locksmith business. HB Remotes and Keys started selling factory remotes/​fobs and transponder keys at farmer markets and swapmeets and local mechanic shops. A few months later we got accounts with dealerships and rental car companies.

I received Nate’s card from the sales guy at Hertz Car Sales after purchasing my used Mazda 2. I managed to keep my old spare Mazda 3 remote. I wanted to get the spare Mazda 3 remote reprogrammed to my Mazda 2 without spending $ 200+ at the dealership and/​or having to buy a new remote. I called Nate, we scheduled an appointment for that day, and, the best part, he came to me! He arrived and got to work with my Mazda remote, he replaced the key portion and reprogrammed the remote in all of 15 minutes (if that) and it cost $ 85 (so much cheaper than what the dealership wanted to charge). He was very nice, prompt, and reasonably priced for the quality and type of service. I couldn’t be more impressed.

Called this morning ard 9 am to get 2 old lexus keys (w/​remote) made and NATE was very polite on the phone w. price quotation and info.
He came over ard 11 am and quickly got the job done!
(my kitchen cabinet drawer was stuck and couldn’t get it open for several days and he even fixed it for me)

One of my dodge Fob key wasn’t working and it was not related to the battery. The dealership quoted me over $ 200 bucks to replace and program it. I checked on Unilocal and found HB Remotes. I called and Nate was able to come to my place within 2hrs. No charge just to check it out.
He was very professional, kind and super reasonable. it took him less than 30 min to replace my fob with 2 new ones and also programed them on the spot. It saved me a $ 100!!!
I strongly recommend c using them before going to dealership to replace your auto key.

So I called A-​Abbot (my usual locksmith provider) to get a quote for a new car remote and they tell me it will be $ 250!!! Whaaat!!! Yowza!!! So I says, ok, I actually don’t really need another remote, just a key that can open and start my car is fine, after all, I still have 1 working remote key, so fine, they tell me it’s gonna be $ 150 for a non-​remote key!!! Whoa, still, ouchies!!! I decide to call around for quotes and use Unilocal to find other locksmiths.
I then stumble on some good reviews for HB Remotes here, and got the same quote for only $ 140 for a new remote key!!! Yeah, more than $ 100 less than what A-​Abbot wanted and HB comes to YOU. So a I make my appointment and boom! 10 min. later I get my new key done right at my house and I even got a few other keys copied too since he was here. Overall, an excellent value and wonderful experience.

Great service, very polite, nice guy who knows what he is doing. If you have a key fob or smart key he is the man. I have a Toyota smart key. For a very reasonable price he came
house and gave me an almost new OEM Toyota smart key fob and had it programmed and cut in 30 minutes. He is very professional and very good at what he does. For all of you with Toyota keys… you know how much it is to get a new one at a dealer. He is a fraction of the price and is easier to deal with. 6 stars if I can give it thanks nate.

I was very happy with the service this mobile locksmith company provided. His prior customer took a little longer than expected so Nathan texted and let me know he would be 10 minutes late. I always appreciate people letting me know they will be late when things happy outside of their control. Nathan made my key from the code number because my key was physically wore out and would barely unlock the doors. The new key works very smoothly. It took about 20 minutes to cut and program the key. The cost was $ 50 to cut a new key from the code number and then $ 65 for the actual key and programming. $ 115 seems like a reasonable price to me (it would have been $ 65 if my key weren’t wore out). Great job Nathan!

I just recently bought a new Nissan Frontier but it didn’t get any key fobs with it because they were stolen out of the truck at the dealership. Apparently that’s common these days. So the dealer hired Nathan to supply me with two remotes. He was able to get me an appointment the vary next day and all I had to do was text him my address. He showed up on time and had the job done in less then 10 minutes. He also gave me a new set of key rings for free because mine were a bit haggard. I recommend using his services for any key or fob needs.

Called Nathan at HB Remote and Keys after being locked out of the house unexpectedly. My friend and I were actually on the phone with Nathan and a different local locksmith at the same time. We went with HB Remote and Keys because not only were they able to arrive at a much earlier time (20 min exactly), but their cost was much lower. Nathan was very polite and very professional, even though my friend and I continued to pester him about the actual process, so we could begin our own «unlocking» business (just kidding, of course). All jokes aside… Would recommend them to any friends in need, great cost, great customer service, great quality of work! Thanks guys!

I was referred to Nate by the dealership that I purchased my Jeep from. Asides from being helpful, friendly, and prompt, Nate provide me with the best value for both my key and remote. The dealer wanted $ 75 for just the key, and another $ 100 for the remote, plus a $ 50 programming fee per key/​remote — Nate sold me both the key and remote for $ 100 and programmed it for free. He was very accommodating, friendly, and a down right honest guy. I will totally be coming back to Nate for all my key needs from now on, as well as referring all I know to this great small business. Went to Nathan at the swap meet in orange coast college. A friend told me about him after I called the chevy dealer they wanted almost 300 dollars for my new set of keys. I was surprised when Nathan quoted me $ 135 for a new set I took him for his word got it done. It’s been about 2 years now and still have yet to have a problem with my set. I highly recommend everyone of my friends to go to him. They love his pricing it’s the best out there. If you’re interested in getting it done he’s the one to go too.

I visit Nathan spot on the Costa Mesa open swaap meet. When approached him in questions regards my vehicle alarm and key his security gave me confidence. I have been trying to get alarm control and extra key for my vehicle with no success, with Nathan I found both items, and I now have an extra key, and alarm control for my vehicle. This review is based on the solid work that Nate has done to me and others I have recommended. He has a spot at the OCC swap meet every Saturday and Sunday but he also has a mobile service. If you are like me who has limited knowledge about cars, let alone keys, you get anxiety thinking that I can screwed over but that was not the case with Nate. He was honest, informative and willing to explain everything to me. I compared the prices to the dealership and I was surprised about the price differences. If you are looking to duplicate a key or get a control for you car, then Nate is the guy for you.
