Kaiser Permanente – Tustin Ranch

I came here a few times to see my optometrist. Everything at this facility is great. Amazing staff, amazing doctors, super clean and nice! I have no complaints EXCEPT that the wait can be a while sometimes. I waited over half an hour to see my optometrist and on top of that, an additional 45 minutes to get help at the Eye Center to order contacts.

I’ve seen Dr. Ruppert a few times now, and the fact that she remembers me is so pleasnatly surprising. She’s very sweet and kind and I’ve always felt comfortable with her.
I’ve noticed that when I arrive early, I get seen almost immediately, and when I arrive right on time, I end up waiting for about 5 – 15 minutes after my appointment time is supposed to be, so make sure you’re about 10 – 15 minutes early!

I came here for an 8:10 am glasses eye exam on. a Tuesday morning. It is covered under my insurance through work!!! I saw Dr. Thu Shioya who is amazing! I’ve been wearing glasses (and contact lenses) for over 25 years and frankly, don’t like seeing any doctors. Dr. Shioya and the staff at this Kaiser location is very professional, friendly, prompt and explained EVERYTHING in detail for me.
I went next door to the optical department where the technician fixed my 5 year old glasses that I didn’t get from Kaiser. She also went over the cost to get new glasses. Everything was transparent. My last experience with an optometrist in Tustin was not very good — I was billed for additional tests that I was never told about.
Exceptional customer service, patient care and I was done within an hour. All charges and costs were explained to me and I had a zero co-​pay. This is exactly why I love being a Kaiser patient!
The receptionist at check in, Deb, was so amazing that she got me an appointment to see Dr. Chang, family medicine. I had a list of four things I needed done. Come to find out that I didn’t need to do the two. The other two were taken care of on the same visit! Again, Dr. Chang was professional, took the time to explain things to me and made this visit pleasant (as pleasant as any doctors visit can be). The staff, especially Anna, who printed off all my past shots.

I had an extremely pleasant experience at this Kaiser optometry office despite it being early in the morning for me. The one helping me out for my pre examination really helped to make me feel comfortable and loosen up while I was there and made me laugh a couple times making it an enjoyable experience. The doctor that checked me out was very helpful and knowledgeable and walked me through what exactly it was that I’d need to do in order to maintain contact wearing.
Overall I had a great experience this morning and I’d definitely come back here again for my next optometry appointment.

My favorite Kaiser location ever. It still looks brand new and I feel like it is less packed than the one on Barranca. It also helps that the parking isn’t as hectic. I seem to always have the pleasure of being checked in at the front by the lady with blonde hair (I need to start catching names). She makes my trip even more enjoyable by always making me laugh. Whether I want to get my eyes checked, pick up my prescriptions, or just get a check up, this is my go to location. Also, five stars because of Dr. Lee at Family Medicine. Truly an amazing doctor who goes out of his way for his patients.

TV and magazines are a plus but as an employee of kaiser and knowing all about the AIDET customer service efforts this place does NOT do that justice. I felt several late people were seen before me but I arrived on time. I have also observed those who helped me never introduced themselves or told me how long the wait might be.

The care from Kaiser, in general, seems very good. The doctors seem very good and there is no hesitancy to refer patients to specialists if it seems warranted. Downside is the lack of up to date medications available for diabetes. There have been a number of very good medications made available the last few years none of which Kaiser covers or will pay for.

I called the optical dept (thursday) requesting for the copy of my daughter’s prescription. Spoke with Sandy, she said she’s going to fax it to me. Followed up on friday, obviously because she didn’t fax it yet, but nobody answer the phone, left a message but did not receive a call back. Tried to call again today, Monday but still goes to voicemail. Is it really so hard for them to send/​fax the prescription? Do I need to beg them to do it? Very poor customer service..

Dr Sorty is my husband’s physician. He adores her. His opthamologist is great also. Caught glaucoma another doctor missed. Had laser surgery done for glaucoma and it has been complication free.

This is a review of the pharmacy. Every time I go, there is never more than 2 people in line. They are very friendly and professional. They explain everything very clearly and know what they’re doing. I love this pharmacy. Open Mon-​Fri only, so plan ahead!

Been calling the pharmacy for the last 20 mins and no one answers. I requested for my rx 2 weeks ago, they said we will call you once it’s ready should be at about 2pm (I called at 11:30am) didn’t get a call back so I left it alone to give them time incased needed and finally called today as soon as I got out of work, called for 20 mins straight with no answer what is this?! I logged into my acct and now my rx doesn’t even show. Can’t talk to anyone cause no one answers, can’t leave a message and I need my rx.

First I have to note that I’m a happy Kaiser client and love my PCP Dr. Lee. Customer service here is top notch and the facility is brand new, and far less crowded than other locations.
My big gripe is the operating hours of Monday — Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. These bankers hours are really inconvenient for working professionals. Trying to get to the pharmacy thru OC traffic before they close is like a scene from Mad Max (apologies to the 8 cars I cut off or sideswiped to get here).

First time checking in to Keiser– I was worried about entering into this communist system, but everyone welcomed me on my first visit. The doctor was thorough. Waiting room wasn’t crowded, nice new facility. I love my primary doc, and everyone from reception to the lab were so friendly!

First time with Kaiser. My first visit for an overall checkup was quick and easy. They were running about 15 minutes behind (I was seen at 9:45 instead of 9:30), but I get that it’s hard to run a strict schedule when it comes to healthcare. The staff was courteousI was able to get my blood work done and pick up my prescriptions all during the time of my scheduled appoint. I spent no longer than an hour here. The place is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. I’m glad I joined Kaiser.

Came in for a 1pm appt at the podiatrist on my lunch break and I’ve been waiting 30 min! What’s the point of making an appt anyway! Why make two appts at once and make me wait long! This is very inconsiderate to have me waiting in a cold room with my shoes and socks off. I guess they don’t care about other peoples time

This is such a great hospital. Not only is it new, the location isn’t bad either. All the doctors and staff are extremely helpful, attentive and knowledgable. Highly recommend Kaiser to anyone.

PROS:
— The staff was pleasant and helpful in directing me to the appropriate areas.
— The décor is modern and clean. The building is new and the furniture in the sitting areas are comfortable.
— The wait for each doctor is quick and the same day x-​ray was very convenient.
— Lots of available parking.
— Free WiFi.
CONS:
— Semi-​difficult to locate. The main entrance door is near the back of the parking lot and the Kaiser is on Michelle far down the street.

The Kaiser optical is new and disorganized. They called me to pick up my glasses and they didn’t have them. The optician gave me a business card with his phone number and told me to call him any time. When I called, i got a recording with no way to leave a message. they lose things and there is no way to reach them by phone or e — mail. We made three trips to the office and still i have no glasses. Don’t waste your time. Go somewhere else.
My story gets worse. When I went in I knew exactly what I wanted. I simply wanted a repeat of my previous prescription. Dr Apodaca refused to give me my previous prescription. It was an ego thing. He kept saying I can do better than the previous optometrist. I can do better than he did. I told him repeatedly that this was the best prescription I ever had and begged him to repeat it. He refused. Instead, he gave me what he wanted me to have. Dr. Apodaca’s prescription gave me headaches. When we returned the glasses, he still refused to get me the ones that were most effective for me. And I am paying for this??? This doctor could only survive at Kaiser. He would never survive in the private sector.
Don’t go here. If I could give them a zero, I would. But, one star is the lowest raking. They are disorganized, unavailable, give you what they want, and expect you to pay for it. My worst junior high teacher wasn’t allowed to treat the children this badly. This is «managed care» at its worst.

Likes: New Kaiser Medical Offices building with new equipment and same day appointment to see a doctor in the pediatric department.
Dislikes: Google Local & Google Map cannot find this new building. Michelle Dr is first street south of 5 Freeway on Jamboree Rd. Search for LA Fitness to enter Michelle Dr and continue driving to find Kaiser on your right side.

Best service courteous doctors and new smells! If you live in Tustin Ranch, Westpark, Tustin Fields and anywhere close to Jamboree 5 ramp, consider this location!
