History

Established in 1983.

Over the past 30 years, GET SAFE™ has positively impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people of all ages and abilities by providing the violence prevention education and self-​defense training that is critical to protecting the well-​being of its students and to building safer, more inclusive communities.

By approaching the often-​sensitive subject in an entertaining, highly interactive manner, the GET SAFE Team breaks down communication barriers usually associated with the topics of violence prevention, crisis intervention, and recovery.

Stuart H.

Business Owner

From his work with survivors of violence and sexual assaults, to children and adults with developmental disabilities, Stuart «Safety Stu» uses humor combined with innovative teaching, counseling and martial arts techniques to make it possible for his students to find and use their own inner strength and awareness to take control of their lives.

Stuart has worked closely with law enforcement officers, military personnel, teachers, students and men and women of all ages and abilities, to help them achieve freedom from fear in their lives. Stuart is also an Orange County Sergeant Reserve Deputy Sheriff and nationally-​sought guest speaker; he has earned black belts in four different martial arts, is a State Certified Sexual Assault Victim and Domestic Violence Counselor, and the author of «The Gift of Freedom: A Stronger, Safer You».
