We are a General Dentistry office with Perks! Dr. Dornan has extensive clinical and academic experience treating patients with TMJ problems as well as other orofacial pain disorders.

We offer conventional dental solutions, i.e. bridges, fillings, crowns, dentures etc, as well as cutting edge solutions. We want your input to develop the best treatment plan to solve your cosmetic dental problems. We help you understand your choices, whether you are best served with cosmetic bonding, porcelain veneers, cosmetic tooth re-​contouring, crowns, orthodontics or any combination of the above!

We focus on getting your mouth healthy utilizing state of the art periodontal care. We want you to leave your appointment knowing how to take care of your teeth so they will last your lifetime.

History

Established in 1984.

Dr Dornan graduated from Northwestern Dental School in 1981 and practiced dentistry in San Francisco for 1 year. In 1982, Dr. Dornan married and moved to here to Orange County. After working with several other dental offices, she opened her Tustin practice in 1984 and has been in her current location since 2000. She had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Nadia Zorapapel into the practice in 2011. Dr. Zorapapel had worked in Los Angeles for 5 years and loves our Tustin practice. Together, we bring experience and innovation to all of our Tustin patients!

Business Owner

Dr Roberta Dornan grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended UC Davis. While at UC Davis, she worked as a dental assistant which perked her interest in dentistry. She trained at Northwestern Dental School, graduating in 1981. She opened her Tustin practice in 1984 and has been at current location since 2000. She currently holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at the USC Ostrow School of Dentistry. Dr. Dornan teaches in the Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine Clinic, working with post-​doctoral residents.

Dr. Nadia Zorapapel grew up in Southern California and attended UC Santa Barbara. She attended and graduated from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2006. She was selected for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and was awarded her Certificate in 2007. She joined Dr. Dornan’s practice in 2011.

I feel so lucky that I live only 2 minutes from this office, but if I didn’t I’d drive almost any distance to see Lisa, my hygienist, and Dr. Dornan, who’s been my dentist for about 20 years. I’m most appreciative of the Doc’s honesty about what needs to be taken care of right away and what can be watched — in my case a small crack in a tooth that she and Lisa kept an eye on for a good 3 years until it widened a bit and we went for the crown. She’s the only dentist my son has ever known and he now drives from college to see her. They take great care of us and I can highly recommend them.

Dental services received were mediocre and some not as necessary. Problems lie with payment. After going over the course of treatment she would like to perform, you are given a cost breakdown and the portion you will be responsible for paying. I chose the minimal work since I’m a student and am limited on funds. For the work I choose my portion would be $ 297. I went to my visits had the work done and paid my $ 297. But there was some problem and now they wanted me to pay an additional $ 300.
Perplexed I inquired into to the additional charges. It seems the staff miss calculated what the insurance would pay and now I had to pay the difference. I most likely would not have had any work done since I would be unable to pay $ 597. I offered to send payments but they refused my payments since they will only split the amount owed over 3 payments. 3 payments would require $ 100 a month and I could only send $ 50 a month. They won’t accept my $ 50 a month payment and I was told I’d be sent to collections. Seems like a bad call on Dr. Dornan’s part because when I send my $ 50 a month to the collection agency Dr Dornan will only see a portion of the money over the same 6 months. Good thing she’s not giving financial or business services as a trade.
Lesson to be learned from Dr Dornan’s is: 1) Wait for your insurance company to officially verify what amounts they will pay before proceeding with the dental work or have savings or a credit card handy.

My wife and I have been patients since 2001⁄2002. Prior to this, we changed dentists very often because they proved untrustworthy and seemed to merely try to squeeze out every penny from our wallets.
Here with Dr Dornan, we finally met a friendly and professional dentist who looked out for our teeth and health above all.
She has a friendly staff and a clean office. The waiting room is quaint and pleasant. The patient stations dont overly smell clinical.
I havent had a cavity for almost 10 years and I believe it has a lot to do with Dr Dornan and her staff of hygienists.
We are going to have our first child due in december and we know his teeth will be taken care of here :)

Dr. Dornan’s office has the best customer service and dental work that I’ve ever experienced. Twice now I’ve called with an emergency and both times they’ve just worked me in and taken great care of me. Dr. Dornan had to refer me to an endodontist, Dr. Gage, and even he was great! I’m a big olé dental chicken and she always makes me feel so comfortable and never hurts me. Each dental chair has it’s own TV and they play cd’s of panda bears playing or of different areas in California. I find that watching the bears really relaxes me.
Another part that I really like is that all of the people who work there are really friendly and efficient. I think they’ve all been there for awhile. They bill my insuance without any problems too.
So if you need a dentist I would highly recommend this office!

This dentist works miracles with night guards!
Dr. Dornan is extremely knowledgeable, very kind, and completely professional, and the same can be said for her equally amazing staff. Appointments always begin on time, everyone there is happy and personable, and you can even watch crazy DVDs about animals while you get your teeth cleaned. No joke — I actually look forward to going to the dentist now!
