Horticulture has fascinated Marcy Hedgerow, founder, as long as she can remember. From the time she could toddle, she spent her time outdoors collecting «specialmens» (as she called them). As she got older, her interest in taxonomy grew into an obsession: she knew she’d found her life’s calling.

Steve came out to troubleshoot a nagging problem with two sprinkler zones that multiple previous experts were unable to resolve. Although the problem isn’t fully resolved yet it’s obvious to my wife and I that Steve knows what he’s doing and that he’s committed to solving the problem. We’re in the process of scheduling a day for him to return and complete the job. My wife and I appreciate the fact that he’s looking for the least expensive, but highly effective solution. His hourly rate isn’t cheap, but the old adage is true: you get what you pay for. The only real challenge with Steve is that he’s super busy; no doubt a reflection of his abilities and the power of word-​of-​mouth advertising from other happy customers. He’s also a certified arborist who provided us with a very reasonable bid for trimming our trees. We’re going to have him come out in the fall to take care of our trees.
I’ll report back further after the sprinkler problem is put to rest and also in the fall after he’s trimmed our trees.

We just purchased a house in the area which has a very mature Jacaranda tree that suffered from a terrible pruning job resulting in the tree covered with shoots going straight up about 20 feet. We’ve reluctantly debated chopping it down completely. I found Steve through his certification with the International Society of Arboriculture. I called and got his voice mail. About an hour later, he called back and allowed me to text him photos. He then dropped by and spend about 20 minutes with me discussing the tree and suggesting how we could go about pruning it ourselves over the next few years to try to regain a more natural shape back for the tree. I offered to pay him for his time, but he kindly refused. Thanks Steve for your time and tips! We’re excited there still may be hope for our tree yet.

We hired AAA Tree Care to get our three olive trees a much needed trimming. The crew showed up on time, they were polite and worked hard to get the job done to my satisfaction! I can be pretty particular about how I want my olive trees trimmed and they really did an outstanding job to meet my expectations! They cleaned up after the job was done. I’ll definitely call AAA Tree Care in the future for tree maintenance. I recommend AAA Tree Care.

We called Steve on Saturday morning and left a message about a tree we needed removed from our property, tree root and all. He called back right away and after discussing the details said he thought he could finish the job the same day, which he did! He was professional, timely, and courteous. We would definitely recommend him and use his service again.

Hired AAA Tree Care to trim up 5 trees, pull an old tree out and pull out some scrubs. Couldn’t not be more happy about the entire project. His crew did a great job of also cleaning up after the project.

I hired AAA Tree Care to remove/​grind 2 large tree stumps with extensive root systems. I was in the process of remodeling my back yard with pavers and new fencing… so timing was crucial. After leaving a message, Steve called me back promptly. He understood my need to have the stumps removed ASAP and he was able to schedule a time to do so the following day! His worker showed up on time and was able to grind the stumps for a very reasonable price. About one week later, my fencing company was on site to install my new fence. Upon further excavation, additional roots were exposed that inhibited the fence from being installed. I phoned Steve again and he was able to remove the roots… again on very short notice. However, his worker did not use protective shielding on my windows. The stump grinder threw a rock into my kitchen window and cracked it. Steve was disappointed by the accident, but agreed that his worker should have used protective shielding. AAA Tree Care paid to have my window replaced. This is a stand up company.

Great service! Professional and the team was very fast. They took down a 20 – 30′ tree in a couple of hours and grounded up the stump. Hauled everything away. I had been getting bids from everyone else and his price was fair… but service was excellent!

Steve was professional and attended me at same day because his crew was already in the same area. Very clean job. I knock down one star because the job took longer than expected due to grinder engine stalled in the middle of the job.

We hired Steve to remove a large tree in our backyard. After getting in touch with him, he came out the next morning (on a Sunday) to give us a quote. This is after getting a referral from a friend whose guy was late to an appointment with us after I rearranged my schedule to meet with him. When we met with Steve, we immediately got a good vibe that he knew what he was doing. It helped that he owns OC Sprinkler so if there was an issue with removing the roots of the tree, he would fix it.
Pricing was as we expected — fair and reasonable. We ended up having him trim several of our other trees. They did a great job — my willow no longer looks messy and sad!

Never showed up. Called last Friday morning, was told they would stop by last Friday between 6 – 730 for a quote… I called again around 530pm them to confirm… no call back and no show. Wasted my time… Unreliable! At least call me back and tell me if you can make it or not… that’s the very least a business can do.

I used AAA Tree Care last year to have them trim back my overgrown palms. Steven came out with his crew and did a great job at a fair price. So when I saw my palms needing their trimming again, it was a no brainer who to call. His capable crew came and tackled my 10 palms with outstanding results.
What I like most about AAA Tree Care is that Steven is such a personable progressional. He takes the time to listen to what his customers want and tries his best to accommodate them. I really appreciate his work ethic and can confidently refer his services.

Called and spoke with Steve who sent out a worker for estimate. Worker arrived on time and was polite. Worker took photos of my palm for Steve and I was told Steve would go be me an estimate. Steve then called the next day wanting to come out and see the tree, a palm, for himself before giving an estimate. Steve came out and gave me a price which seemed fair so I told him I was good and asked when could he come out. Steve said he would call me back and schedule a time. Steve had also apparently dropped his phone in his coffee and spilled in his new truck. Steve asked for some paper towels to clean up the mess which I gave him and that led him for coning out and hoped to hear from him soon. Well, never got a call back and as I needed the work done I went elsewhere. Would not recommend him to anyone due to Hus flaky and unreliable behavior with me.

These guys are awesome! Called them Ina Saturday morning for a quote and they came out in less than an hour, quoted us a great price and started work by 2pm same day. It’s only 5pm and they are already done and performing the wood chipping and clean up. They were efficient, professional, friendly, and just all around awesome. Highly recommended

Steve provided a very fair and reasonable quote. Upon giving the go ahead he sent out a crew that did a great job trimming my tree.

I have two Queen Palms on the patio of my condo that I needed trimmed. I suspect that the fronds hanging over the roof have been sweeping the rooftop gravel onto my patio which has been driving me nuts!
I hadn’t maintained these trees in the two years I’ve lived here and figured it was time. I called around for some quotes and Steve’s was the only reasonable one. I would give 5 stars but the communication in the beginning was a little off. When he sent a guy to come look at my trees (same day I called), they called me 3 times and texted that if I give the go ahead right then, they’d trim them for $ 95. However, I was at work unable to pick up the call and they had already left when I called back. So, we scheduled for Saturday and he upped the quote to $ 100 to have to drive back. I thought that was a little silly, considering I wasn’t looking for same day service.
He showed up on time, did a wonderful job, answered my questions and went above and beyond for me, cleaning my whole patio up from the gravel mess. They look wonderful and now I don’t have to worry about how icky they look– my neighbors are also probably relieved to not have to look at dead trees :) I will be using AAA’s services for maintenance and possibly future landscaping.
