Been there since 1959. In the past the guys lying beside the building kept me from even thinking about going there. My husband went in, he said it was OK with an OK selection of beer and wine with narrow, tight aisles. They have tinting on the front window now, so the products in the front window aren’t subject to the direct sunlight any more. Staff friendly. My husband was a little creeped out by he sign on the front door that said, «no hoodies and no sunglasses!»

Decent prices, good selection, and you can smoke inside (not that I smoke anymore, but whatever). The store itself is grimy and gross but that’s all part of its charm. There’s a cop who hangs out in the parking lot all night, which is kind of cool because the neighborhood itself is sketch.
Don’t go out of your way for this place, but don’t be afraid to go inside, either.
