This coastal inspired café is the creation of David Rutkauskas and his wife, Camille. They started the Camille’s concept back in 1996. Now, if you want to talk about a true homegrown, rags to riches kind of story… Camille’s is it. A lot of us remember when it was just a 250 square foot café located under the elevator at Woodland Hills Mall. It was like a little oasis that you just happened to walk upon. The original aim for Camille’s was to fill a niche for mall customers who craved something fresher and tastier than the typical greasy mall food. This led David and Camille to create a café that blended both fresh, quality food and great atmosphere in an entire dining experience we now know as fast casual. They were pioneers of that idea and what started out as a small dream with a tiny café blossomed into a big time operation.
