The Ranch at Star Pass

Did anyone else not get the $ 400 rental credit promo as promised? Homestead Management stated that the credit went only towards the week I had in August when I moved in on 8÷21÷15. I rented the entire 4 rooms and should have received a $ 1600 credit. Paying $ 1600 for one week at this sub-​par complex is unconscionable and not what I signed up for. Now I have a 5-​day eviction notice on my door for September and I have only lived in the apartment 3 weeks. I heard this is happening to many others. Inbox me at

My son, Anthony, has lived at the Ranch for 3 years with and without a roommate. The website says they have a match service and that you will have an opportunity to meet with potential roommates. Anthony came home today to find someone moving in that he had never met and was never forewarned about. He seems like a nice enough guy, but he is a smoker. My son has asthma and epilepsy. Even second hand smoke could be a catastrophe. I have called and left messages. No response. He went to the office to discuss and they told him to talk to his roommate about it. Who is responsible here?

I am going on my third year at the Ranch and it has had its ups and downs. Unfortunately, they have switched management too many time for my liking and I have had some very unpleasant experiences. However, the office staff they have now are very friendly and they are working hard to spruce up the place. I just wish they would keep their promises, like replacing our floors and fixing our dryer.

Terrible service and very understaffed. Speaking of staff, they are friendly enough but not knowledgeable. They are in desperate need of training.
The locks on the doors require a FOB and the parking situation is absurd. People park in paid for covered parking spots when they clearly do not pay for them. But who can blame them when there aren’t enough covered spaces nearby your building? No one wants to walk far from their car home in a sketchy neighborhood. Yes, there is security but one of the guards can always be found smoking weed in his vehicle in the same spot not far from the pool. However, there is a very dedicated security guard that makes up for the other’s slack by constantly riding his bike around the property at night.
The pool is fantastic. It could be kept clean a little better though. Unfortunately if you want to relax by the pool and read you will likely be interrupted by very loud college kids playing their music and just being inconsiderate overall. At night the pool reeks of marijuana smoke.
The two shuttle drivers are complete opposites. The man is very unfriendly and doesn’t even acknowledge a thank you. The woman is very kind, friendly and always tells you to have a great day when you get off the shuttle. She should get a raise!
The lease contracts are irritating. Staff has the right to inspect your home for any reason and just overall treat you like a teenager in a dorm room. I would love to live here again next year and renew my contract but after one too many incidents with pop inspections. I’d rather take my money elsewhere and have some real privacy in my home.

It takes awhile, but as of mid September, three weeks after move-​in, things are finally getting fixed. (This is an updated review) If things had been functioning properly and spotless on move in, I might have given four stars considering all of the amenities.

The night of 03÷13÷14 police were called to the property. At least 3 police vehicles arrived as well as a helicopter for an incident that happened at the pool. According to staff, most of the people there were not residence. Some of the people there were minors. The pool will be CLOSED for at least two weeks due to broken glass falling into the pool. Due to loud music and a fight, TPD has Red Tagged the pool so no one can enter until October.
Trespassers have been a known issue to the last two managers and yet security is never there to protect The Ranch’s greatest amenity which is the pool.

There is something that I have learned, When company’s are giving away specials, That typically means there is something wrong. These people say they are customer service oriented and that they are here for the residents, but they are just like a man giving a woman all the diamonds in the world but no love.
