At Sun Lighting, we believe that our best customer is an educated customer. Our knowledgeable staff is here to answer any and all questions that you may have. Our clients come in looking for high-​end home furnishings, lighting, or ceiling fans, and need to understand quality, benefits, features, and uniqueness of the merchandise before making a purchase decision. To that end, we thoroughly train our staff to be Certified Lighting Design Specialists by the American Lighting Association so they can help our clients make informed decisions.

To supplement our in-​store expertise, we regularly host free seminars on subjects of interest to our clientele. These seminars include a variety of topics and help create a well-​informed customer base, as well as reinforce the conviction that Sun Lighting is the only place to go for expert assistance with all of your lighting and home décor needs.

History

Established in 1953.

Sun Lighting has been family owned and operated, and a part of Tucson’s business community for over 57 years. Founder Mike Levkowitz started selling lighting fixtures out of his home in 1953. After some success in the home-​based business, he decided to open a retail store. Although the first store was less than elaborate, it became highly profitable; eventually requiring a much larger facility. This move came a change in the image to a do-​it-​yourself warehouse to mimic the popular home centers of the time. As both the business and Mike grew older, his youngest son Danny was eager to take over and now delights in providing exceptional customer service and high-​quality products.

In 1992, Danny and Anita Levkowitz purchased Sun Lighting from Danny’s father and began to reassess the lighting and home furnishings industry. They made it their goal to establish the most elegant showroom in Arizona. To achieve this, they decided to include home furnishings along with the lighting that had made them an Arizona staple. Sun Lighting now carries sinks, faucets, vanities, fireplaces, mirrors, artwork, landscape lighting, LED lighting, and accessories. With this change in direction came a total revamping of the look and feel of the showroom. A new 20,000 square foot lighting boutique designed around «vignettes», each of which tells a complete story. Lighting, furniture, and accessories blend and invite the customer to imagine a complete «look» in their home.
