Stopped by to get some milk and lettuce. Check out was incredibly slow-only 3 lanes open and 1 bagger. The lettuce was expensive and when we got home the interior(not visible at first look) was covered in some kind of slimy mold. FYI-the Safeways up in Seattle are just as bad. My fault for forgetting that here. No wonder we shop at FRYS!

Donna… Worst customer service rep I’ve dealt with… From my experience with Safeway, this location is by far, the worst. I can’t speak for the rest of the store, but the customer service desk was horrible… I’ve been cashing payroll checks at Safeway for years, and have never had a problem. But for some reason, the customer service rep at this location, Donna, quickly found a reason to dismiss me. When I approached the service desk, no one was there at first. One gentleman was ahead of me. When Donna approached, the man in front of me pleasantly greeted her first. saying. «hello! How are you doing?»… Very politely and enthusiastically. Donna responded. «I’m okay. Doing way too much work than one person should have to do.» Which seemed very unprofessional to me. Complaining about your job to a paying customer is in poor taste I believe. After she«helped that gentlemen», I approached the counter and asked if I could cash my payroll check. She asked. «Have you cashed here before?» I responded yes many times.” She immediately said she couldn’t cash the check because my ID says I’m a second«II» on my ID, but not on the check… Also, my name is Michael on my ID but Mike on the check… Wow! I understand this may be a legitimate policy, but seems a little exteme. I thought that’s why you enter you social security number twice… It confirms your identity. Especially since I’ve been cashing these same checks at Safeway for about 5 years every week… She completely dismissed me and made me feel like an annoyance to her. I laughed and took my check back… At which point I drove 5 min up the street to another Safeway on Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon, and cashed my check no problem with a very accommodating clerk, that was friendly and that didn’t act like I was wasting her time. Donna, you’re lucky enough to have a job. If you’re not happy with it, quit. I’m sure there’s plenty of people that deserve it and would do it happily instead of acting like their customers are a hindrance.

I like Safeway in general for a grocery store but this particular store is the worst Safeway. The only thing it has going for it is its location is convenient and the store is kept pretty clean. The staff there are so miserable and rude and self involved that it makes going to the store a nightmare. It seems that it doesn’t matter what time of day you will always wait in line. And when you get up to the cashier they might say hello but then they’ll go on ahead and carry on a full conversation with another cashier or the bagger and completely ignore you and take their sweet time checking you out I rarely see a manager I don’t even know who a manager is all I can think of is that this is the worst managed Safeway store ever. Everyone needs training in customer service and to be a little more grateful that they have a job in the first place.

What a crap hole! I’m shocked that a publicly traded high profile grocery store would just let themselves go like this. You walk in and their’s the stench of death … that’s the rotting meat from the strange looking butcher who talks to himself. OMG and the Deli! Yikes! No service! When there is someone there they look like an escapee from the funny farm who forgot their meds that day. DON’T use the restroom! You’d be safer crapping out back behind the store, it wreaks of mood and funky stench. Bright points however. Some of the cashiers are very helpful and friendly but you get the overall feeling that NOBODY is happy with management … I can see why. The produce department is pretty good I have to say and the guys how run it do a decent job of keeping it stocked and clean. Frozen foods could use some help … I couldn’t even get a simple bag of Carrots & Pea’s. Overall the store needs a GOODDEEPCLEANING and is really too small to service their community … they don’t even have their own pharmacy. You have to drive across the street and risk your life at the stupid intersection … I would prefer to have a 1 stop shop and for that reason I generally go to Costco if I’m going to have to get in my car in the first place.

This has got to be one of the biggest safeways Ive ever been to and yet they dont have the one thing i need most a probiotic kambucha drink. They got everything else from soda to energy drinks. They also dont carry any good gallon bottled waters like AZ’s own RimRock or another good one like geyser at least.

A decent Safeway with friendly butchers. It can get overcrowded easily as many things as jammed together. They can probably handle that better but no major complaints about the service here.

The staff is always friendly and helpful. They know where things are if you have questions. The place is always clean and well-stocked. Parking is ample and easily accessible. The sales are nice and they’re pretty lenient about coupons if you leave it at home and need to bring it back, if it expired by one day, etc. I would easily give this place 5 stars for all of those things if not for one thing: they say store hours are 6AM-midnight but don’t even bother going after 7PM, you won’t get service. They are down to one register by then and you’re lucky if the cashier is actually at the register. It might be fine for picking up one or two things in a hurry but if you need to actually shop any later than that, don’t bother. You’ll be standing around for a really long time and/or get the«stink eye» from the person checking you out. Even during«normal» hours, they never have enough registers open. They’ll have maybe one express register open and 1 or 2 regular lanes open which isn’t enough on busy days like Saturdays.

This place is really nice! I just signed up for a Safeway’s reward card! It has also discounts! If you don’t have one, I do recommend you to get it from Customer Services! Yes it is FREE! See the photo!

My husband and I started to make this our regular grocery store after he’d had enough of the … interesting … people at another store. Safeway’s selection is smaller than the other, but it gets the job done. We’ve noticed that what they have one week they won’t have the next, which can be frustrating, but there’s usually another brand of whatever it is. The store is clean and not too busy, and the staff is friendly and helpful, so those are definite positives.

This place lost another star for me, it seems the management of this place thought it was a good idea to completely shut down every register at 8pm. Why? In the words of the cashiers that stood around cleaning and ignoring the ever growing pile of customers that where getting antsy, some even leaving with their purchase and carts abandoned, was that they were closing out the tills and needed to wait about 15 – 20 minutes for them to come back online! Who woulda thunk! «This is NOT a good idea!» I was standing there with all my stuff waiting for someone to speak out, of course 15 minutes in and I had to ask, «Whats going on?» Well for all you shoppers out there we need a clean-up in isle 3. This place is a mess!
