Marco’s Bakery saved the day! We had company in town for the night, and wanted to share our gender reveal moment with them in a fun and delicious way. I had just received the envelope with the baby’s sex from our doctor that morning. So at around 11 am, I called over a dozen bakeries in Tucson, and no one could fill the (very tall!) order of a custom cake by the end of the day… except Jim! Not only did they make us a gender reveal cake in just 4 hours, they made us a STUNNING, fully decorated gender reveal cake. And the best part? It was soo delicious. Proof that these guys really can deliver!

It was a pleasure to work with everyone at Marco’s. I was in charge of getting the cake for my friends 70^th birthday. 50 of our friends were coming. I looked at the reviews on Unilocal and decided to use Marco’s…I was the Cake Hero of the party. I found a great cake online and they reproduced it exactly! As fancy as it was I almost didn’t care how it tasted. BIG flavor! Everyone was gushing at the moistness and flavor of the cake and frosting. The owner delivered and set it up for me. I’ve found my cake maker in Tucson. I didn’t try their catering as I was in charge of food, but if it’s like the cakes they make I would definitely use them next time.

I ordered my soon to be sister in laws bachelorette’s cake from Marcos Bakery and was pleasantly surprised with how they were able to duplicate the picture I sent them of the cake I wanted. It was a chocolate cake with buttercream filling with fondant. The cake was moist and delicious. The cake was a hit at the party. Would highly recommend them if your looking for a yummy, creative cake.

Marco’s Bakery did an amazing job. I found a picture on Pinterest and it turned out perfect. Not only did it look exactly like my pinterest vision, it tasted amazing as well. They exceeded my expectations and I could not be more pleased with my decision to go with them. I will definitely be using them in the future. Thank you again for the best cake!

I had the worst experience ever at this establishment that reportedly prides itself on customer services. I paid 90 dollars as part of a deposit for a baby shower cake. Unfortunately, an unforeseen tragic incident occurred and I called 12 days prior to the pick up date and requested that the order be cancelled and requested that I receive a full refund from Marco and he said «no I have a business to run» after pleading my case and explaining the unforeseen, out of my control incident which caused the event to be cancelled, Marco stated that he still had a business to run and could only give me 45 dollars back as he was put in a position where he thought he was at least being generous, offering me 45 dollars. This business is insensitive and does not care about their customers. Heartless in one word.

My family brought in a photo of our brother riding his Harley and Marco’s Bakery turned it into the most fabulous cake for his 60^th birthday. The detail on the fondant figure was incredible and it indeed looked just like the photo. The cake was a contoured desert landscape complete with little cacti surrounding the road on which my brother on his Harley rode. And the cake itself was a wonderful German Chocolate cake that was so rich and moist and tasty — it was as delicious as the whole creation was beautiful. The whole team at Marco’s Bakery did such a wonderful job and they really went out of their way to turn our idea and photo into precisely the work of art that we wanted. Jim the owner was wonderful in every way and we really can’t thank him enough. I highly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a special cake and we definitely look forward to ordering again for the next occasion!

I placed an order with Jim for my daughter’s baptism cake. I emailed him three photo examples of various cake designs that I was hoping Jim could replicate, which included crosses and baptism decorations on the cakes; thus, tying into the baptism theme.
On the day of the baptism, we picked up the cake and quickly learned that the decorations Jim and I discussed were not on the cake. The only decoration on the cake was my daughter’s initial. I expressed my concern and Jim blamed me for the lack of decorations saying that I never specified that I wanted any baptism themed decorations.
After I reminded Jim that we discussed crosses being on the cake and that I emailed him three photo examples that we referenced during our initial conversation and which all included crosses, Jim backed off and said that he could make a cross for the cake, but it would take an hour or so.
Considering that we were picking up the cake after the baptism ceremony and before the after-​party, we simply didn’t have the additional time he required.
Jim never apologized and charged us the full $ 200. Jim has incredibly poor customer service, and I will never order another cake from him again. The interesting thing is that I was warned by another individual to not buy from this bakery, but I chalked it up to being a fluke. I should have listened.

I ordered a birthday cake for my mom’s 60^th birthday from Marco’s Bakery, and my mom swears it was the prettiest and best tasting cake she’s ever had! All the guests at the party complimented how fabulous the cake looked and tasted. It was bright pink with beautiful intricate white frosting details and flowers that were so detailed they looked like real roses! We chose the chocolate and Bailey’s flavor with a butter cream frosting. It was delicious. We couldn’t have been happier with our order. The customer service was excellent and the bakery was prompt with responding to our request and working out the details of the cake. Thank you for making my mom’s birthday so special, we look forward to more fabulous cakes from Marco’s in the future!

I highly recommend them for catering. We ordered for about 20 people for a work function and the food was so good, we then had them cater our Grand Opening for about 120 people. They had everything at our facility on time and everybody loved the food. Specifically recommended are the Teriyaki Chicken Skewers and the Wrap Platters but honestly, everything was so good you could probably order anything and be happy.

These lovely people went above and beyond to bake, decorate, and deliver a dozen wonderful cupcakes on just one days notice.
We had a death in the family, and I live in another state. I called this bakery, after some online research, and asked if they could help me send a small surprise to comfort the family grieving the loss of my sister, their mother.
Everyone I talked to was extremely helpful. The owner delivered them himself, and called me immediately to tell me how the delivery went. He even got the name of my grand-​nephew right! I heard later that the cupcakes were delicious. Thank you so much, Marcos Bakery, for being so kind at a difficult time. The price was reasonable, too. I appreciate their help very much.

Marco’s was a fantastic bakery to work with for our wedding. They provided a free cake tasting, and have delicious cakes. They were very pleasant and professional, and were able to reccomend great cake flavors and a design that fit our wedding perfectly. I would highly reccomend them to any other brides looking for a wedding cake!

We just used Marco’s Bakery for a Dr. Seuss themed party. The cake was excellent! The red velvet cake was flavorful and very moist. They did a wonderful job and I will definitely use them again for future events. Marco’s exceeded my expectations!

This is a hidden secret in Tucson!!! Both Chef’s are Food Channel quality… I would like to see Bobby Flay or Gordon Ramsey compete! Amazing food and pastries! If you need a catering order, whether serving a large party at home or office, you will never be disappointed. In fact, you will get rave reviews! Want to impress someone? Chris’s catering along with Marcos cake was perfect. The catered dinner with Chef Chris menu of rosemary lemon chicken, Peruvian potatoes, fun, stylish and healthy appetizers were a very welcome and fantastic meal. Great portion sizes and the price was ver reasonable. Our office wished Chris and staff could cook for us every night.

I have Marco’s bakery do a cake for me and it was not just delicious, but it was better than I expected! It looked great, it was so real it was amazing! We all loved it and in more than satisfied with their service! They are great people and the make you feel like family!

I have never had the pleasure of having Jim do any catering for me but I do order lunch pretty frequently from Marco’s Bakery. All I can say is that the food is fantastic, healthy, light, and always fresh. I can’t think of a better place to grab lunch. The service is also fantastic. I want to thank Jim and the staff for doing such an excellent job. Hard work and great service always pays off in the long run!

I ordered a cake from this bakery and I really REALLY wanted to love this little bakery, the owner seemed nice and the shop, quaint.
I’m from Chicago and had my wedding in Tucson. I flew into town to meet with vendors and this bakery was one of them. I had previously sent some pictures of cakes that I was interested in having Jim make and was all ready to discuss these on my visit. Unfortunately, Jim had none of these on file and not having my fiancé in town with me I ultimately agreed to a cake in Jim’s portfolio.
We discussed doing little skulls on the cake (we have a dark sense of humor), about 2 – 3 skulls, and removing a black «ribbon» thing on the cake and I was quoted $ 400 plus taxes and delivery for a cake that would feed 100. I was told without the skulls the cake would be $ 100 less. So I discussed with my fiancé when I got back home and we decided in order to save money, we didn’t need the skulls. Also, he liked the black «ribbon». I called Jim and let him know that we did want the black ribbon and in other words to make the cake «exactly like the picture, no changes». I told him we weren’t doing the skulls and re verified that not doing the skulls was $ 100 less. He said yes, but expressed disappointment because he was looking forward to doing the skulls. Being on a budget we just couldn’t swing it. So I put down my $ 200 deposit and was set. Or so I thought.
I called Jim to pay my balance and he said my final balance was still $ 200 + taxes and delivery. Uh… didn’t we discuss not doing the skulls for $ 100 less? He explains to me that he had «no record of any skulls» and that he was sorry but that was my balance. There was nothing I could do because of course I already paid my deposit and it’s a week before my wedding. Very clever Marco’s! He said he might throw in some free flowers, as he’s «been known to do that».
Fast forward to the wedding and the cake is there. It’s awful and I knew there would be no «free flowers». It doesn’t look like the picture and it doesn’t look like a professional did it. Did it taste good? Yeah, it tasted decent. Like any other cake I’ve had that’s decent. And that’s why I give this bakery one star. Because the cake tasted decent. Other than that, I’m extremely disappointed I paid over $ 400 for a wedding cake that looked awful! In a way I blame myself, I didn’t ask for anything in writing. But now I’m advising all future brides; get it in writing!
I really don’t know if he took advantage of me on purpose or if he’s just highly unorganized, but I do know this… we did talk about skulls, I had 3 other girls that were with me that day that all verified what he said. Sadly, this is one vendor that will not be featured with our wedding or in my blog.
Lastly, after this situation I found another site which accurately describes this bakery in reviews. It appears I’m not the only one who’s had problems and I wish I had read them before doing business with the company. Oh well, it’s just cake right?

I love, love, love this place. I was having such a hard time finding a unique cake for a friends baby shower– everyother bakery in tucson wanted me to pick from vanilla or chocolate and flowers or baloons. BORING. Marco’s worked with me and a couple pictures of good images to create an amazing vanilla almond raspberry cake decorate in the most beautiful cowboy design. Everyone was raving about and the mom-​to-​be was so happy with the unique to her cake. I will definitely be back, can’t wait til I have to plan my next party! The owner even walked us out and had us get in the car– seatbelt and all, before handing us the precious cake he was so proud of! I love this place!

I too am a U of A parent and ordered a dozen cupcakes to be delivered for my daughter’s birthday. I’m not sure if it was the owner that I spoke to (I think so) but he was excellent! He went above and beyond to accommodate me; they are in the middle of a busy wedding season and still he had them delivered to her door on a Saturday just as he promised.
According to my daughter, the red velvet cupcakes were delicious and a special surprise that we would not have been able to accomplish without you.
Great job Marco’s — I highly recommend this bakery and will not hesitate to call them again.
