Has M Salon gone out of business?

Thought I’d give this place a try. Had good reviews and was close to my house. Was easy to get an appointment. I talked through what I wanted with the stylist prior to washing my hair. Something that seems to happen, no matter where I go, is that they never part my hair after the wash. They just start cutting wherever it falls. I had discussed with her that I part in the middle or on the left, so I prefer it cut with the middle part. That didn’t happen. I also had bangs cut but she only did them on one side, which was neither the middle or the left part I usually have. After cutting she curled it which made it really difficult to tell how it actually turned out. The next day I had to do some touch up trimming, mostly on my bangs.
Overall I think she did ok. Added the layers I asked for. But when I take the time to discuss with you how I style my hair before we even wash it, I hope that you would listen and cut accordingly, not where it falls after a wash. But like I said, I’ve yet to find a stylist that actually does this.

I have been going to M Salon for a couple of years now and I am extremely happy with Michael and all of the salon staff. Michael is a true professional and always gives me an outstanding cut and color. Michael is always patient as I change my mind all the time about what I want. He listens carefully, interprets it and executes a great haircut every time!
The front desk staff is always cheerful and always work to get me appointments on the days and times that work for me. They are understanding when I need to reschedule.
I highly recommend Michael and M Salon.

Came to Tucson on a mini-​vacation and for a friends wedding and found M Salon on Unilocal (naturally). Read thru reviews and decided to give them a call.
Emmie, the receptionist was the sweetest. I scheduled a facial that very day. For $ 60 I was pleased to lay and receive such a relaxing facial message scalp message and overall lovely experience. No deep extractions needed but enjoyed every minute of it.
Scheduled a blow out the next day and asked the stylist for a braided crown with lots of curls. With a little up charge, my hair looked better than expected and I fully felt pampered. Thanks Sydnee
When I next visit Tucson, I’ll be back!

I found M Salon through Unilocal and want to encourage others to do the same. I don’t think I have ever been so happy with a cut and color as I was after my first visit with stylist Jessica. She gave a perfect color treatment and cut. I will definitely be a steady customer. If you are new to Tucson give M Salon a try.

Have gone twice and both times were perfect. This is a Redken salon and they know their business. Monica gave a perfect color treatment and is so delightful and professional. I had a haircut emergency and she was booked, so the owner Michael helped out. Excellent cut. He heard exactly what I wanted and it looks super. I love this salon. Will come back again.

Michael is a fantastic colorist. He saved my blonde hair when I thought I had to choose hair health over my blonde locks! He knows how to keep a healthy natural blonde color and that is so hard to find in tucson. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for a truly experienced colorist.

I just moved here a little bit over a month ago and I was in desperate need of a cut and color. I heard about this place through a Facebook group and I am so happy I decided to try it out! My stylist was Cami and she was super nice and very accommodating. I told her what I wanted, without being super specific or picky, and she totally went with it. I had shoulder length brown hair before and now I have an angled bob that is a vibrant RED! I love my new hair and so do all my friends and family! Will definitely be coming back again!

I am new to Tucson and I was SO nervous to try a new hair stylist. The first cut I got here was not good and that salon shall go unnamed because the girl was young and I will chalk it up to inexperience. But I will say that I should have known when I saw that their salon used L’Oreal hair products. So… since I was not going to go back there I decided to try M Salon because it’s close to my house.
I’m glad I did because I had a great experience and got a fantastic cut from Monica. My hair is very fine, thin, and straight (the trifecta for miserable hair days), and she knew exactly how to cut and style it. I mean, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve left my hair the way it was styled after my cut – meaning after my appointment I’d just put it in a ponytail or rush home and re-​style it. But not this time! It was such a relief to find someone who knows how to handle such delicate, difficult hair.
I did not give the full 5 stars only because it was a bit pricey ($ 49 plus tip). Different stylists cost different amounts depending on experience or time with the salon (I’m not sure which). But on the plus side, they use Redken hair products (which I love) along with some others, and they give you 25% off your first service if you’re a new customer – which I was happy to receive!
I might have to get my hair cut less often because of the price, but in my opinion it’s worth it for a quality cut that I actually love.

Unbelievable.
I hate leaving bad reviews. I did everything to avoid it. I have very long, straigh, black hair. i came in for a root touch-​up & trim from Brittney. She cut my hair over a rounded-​back 4″-deep chair. I explained I’ve always had to stand for a cut. Beginners know that.
The dye wasn’t deep enough, so I was left with gray still showing. The right side was 2″ shorter than the right. She didn’t cross-​check. Brittney slither-​cut my long bangs without asking and didn’t blend them at all. It was finished choppy & VERY uneven.
She took a client while my dye was sitting and let her client sit there with my purse. no one checked on me while the dye was sitting to see if I needed anything — and she left me 10 minutes past the buzzer. I had to get up and tell someone the time was up.
She didn’t try to sell me any product (which I asked about). Salons can really be helped by product revenue. A shame.
I made a second appt. to get a head stylist to fix it. Apparently there are 4 «head stylist.» Head means, «one.» This poor woman was aghast and could only come somewhat close.
All in all, I lost 6″ of hair, had to get it re-​dyed elsewhere and it will need to grow out for a while until I can get it even again.

M Salon is amazing! Not only is the staff super friendly and knowledgeable, but the salon is gorgeous! I had Elle cut hair, and she did an amazing job! I will be coming back to get my wedding hair and make-​up done by the professionals at M Salon! Michael did an amazing job setting up a gorgeous atmosphere and having only the best staff members!

I do not like this Salon. I went here for blonde highlights but when i left it looked like they pretty much just colored my whole head blonde! Also, when i first inquired about their pricing, they looked at me like it was completely taboo to ask about prices and were completely rude about it. The owner quoted me a price during consultation and the day of service tried to charge me way more. There are PLENTY of other salons in town! I would not recommend this salon.

I’ve been coming here about a year (both hair and nails) and they always do a great job! Brittany is very detailed oriented and will not only tell you if what you want may not be the best for your hair, but will talk with you about different options then do everything to make your hair look great! Virginia is great for shellac and always puts up with my crazy color combos. The entire staff is very friendly and I’ve refered at least 3 of my friends there. One of the best kept secrets in Tucson and far above in quality than the more well known salon chain in Tucson.

Cindy L. gives the best haircuts in Tucson! She always cuts my hair perfectly. I feel like I have a model’s hair when I leave: D I highly recommend her, especially if you have color treated hair. She is very knowledgeable about technique, product and styling.

Been twice and really love this salon. Brittany is so sweet and does great highlights! I usually have to wait about 15 mins but they get me in on very short notice (scheduled on a thurs for the next day!), so I don’t mind.

After reading the reviews for Michael and his ability to work with curly hair I made an appointment. I’ve been growing my wavy/​curly locks out for over a year now and I was in need of a trim and face-​framing cut. Plus I wanted highlights for fun.
Michael knew exactly what to do as far as the cut, he created long layers with the shortest one falling right at my jawline. I have a square-​shaped face and this cut softens my angles a bit. I told him I wanted golden-​blonde highlights (my hair is dark brown). He asked me a couple of questions about what I was going for and came up with a color scheme to match my eyes & skin tone. The color turned out beautifully. There’s a honey-​blonde in there, a darker auburn and just a couple streaks of a lighter blonde.
Michael’s assistant was very attentive and helpful, she even offered up their keyboard air blower thingy when she saw me blowing out my iPhone case!
The atmosphere at M Salon is fun and laid-​back with the employees singing along to the music playing and joking with one another.
My only issue with the salon was the salon chair. It was not very comfortable and sitting in it for as long as the highlighting/​color-​setting/​cutting process goes gave me a bit of a back ache.
That aside I definitely plan on going back to Michael at M Salon! This is the first really good experience I’ve had at a full-​priced salon in Tucson (I usually just go to the Aveda Institute for trims) and I think I’ll stick with it!

Kudos to Cole Hanson!
He has been cutting and styling my hair now for almost a year. Having short hair, I have to get it cut every 4 weeks to maintain it. With most stylists it takes me 5 to 7 days after a cut for me to get it to «behave» the way I want. But Cole does it right and I have it whipped in to shape the very next day. Further, I have some very belligerent cow licks and Cole, after understanding where the the little devils reside in my hair, manages to give me a short cut that persuades them to cooperate. Nothing short of miraculous!
Cole also cuts my sons hair and does a wonderful job on his head of thick hair. I’ve recommended three other people to him and they have all become regulars there. including two hard to satisfy teenagers (both male and female) who are delighted with their cuts.
On a personal note, Cole is a very creative and well traveled person with an interesting global perspective.

Seven years. Seven loooong years.
That’s how long it had been since even a drop of bleach had been on my long black hair. To say I was nervous about getting ombré highlights is a drastic understatement. I literally had dreams about it the nights leading up to my appointment.
Elizabeth the salon coordinator had suggested Brittany M, and I’m so glad she did. She listen to my concerns, explained what she would be doing and quickly got to work as not to prolong my anxiety.
Everyone at the salon was hard at work but cheerful, and I loved the modern, urban décor. Brittany and I chatted the whole time, and she even whipped me up a cup of coffee and some cookies when I told her I skipped lunch that day! So considerate.
The finished product is beautiful, and she suggested some great products to keep my long locks healthy. I couldn’t be happier with how it looks now, and would highly recommend Brittany or anyone at M Salon.

I normally get the urge to change salons every few months, but since I started seeing Kashmir as M Salon 2 years ago, I won’t be going anywhere else!
Like other reviewers have said, the salon is fun to go to because it’s trendy, and it’s pretty drive up from central Tucson. Plus, the service is awesome and the stylists kick butt! I love the way Kashmir cuts and styles my hair!

Located on the cusp of the foothills, M Salon offers an array of salon services from their professional and talented staff. I loove the modern, yet elegant atmosphere of this salon. it’s beautiful!
I’ve had my hair done with Courtney and Jacquie and I have absolutely no complaints with them! I’ve known Courtney for years and Jacquie has become a good friend of mine. Management is very friendly, and they always come around to compliment your hair. :) This salon uses Redken products, and are available for purchase. The staff is very helpful in determining which product will benefit your hair best.
The cost of service is the norm for a good salon, about $ 35 for a cut. Color depends on what you want done. I know I’m in good hands at M Salon, and I always leave with a smile, not to mention, awesome hair!
