I normally don’t take time to review but honestly the staff at this store are so incredibly unhappy and incompetent. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Don’t go here unless you have a LOT of time to kill as even getting something simple will take them ages. Like a previous reviewer, I notice they are slow to cut fabric, chatting, visiting, looking around. But I digress, on my last visit on 10/19/2015, there was a women behind the fabric counter. I asked her where the tulle spools would be kept. She stared at me in disbelief for so long that I got nervous — had I just bothered a customer? Finally she said oh up there by the Halloween stuff but I’m not sure. Um — thanks? I couldn’t find anything with that vague response so I went back and this time she completely and utterly ignored me. Finally another woman walked up and the first employee told the second woman she was going to the bank and not coming back. Um, ok. The second woman helped me and then went to check out the people waiting in line. There was only ONE employee in the store. Slowly — ever so slowly she chatted and assisted the first person. The second person had a return which took FOREVER. There was much discussion over what to do and what to return — for a $ 3 item. Another employee came out of the back and instead of helping she joined in this painful discussion. I wanted to just hand over $ 3 so they would be done with it! The management needs to work on employee training and the employees need to be aware of the importance of urgency. We don’t have all day people! Sadly, there’s no other fabric place nearby as this place is a mess.

I have to Thank the staff for being so helpful and patient to me and the others on July 4th weekend. Rebecca gave me pointers on making a perfect T-Shirt quilt. The store was very busy, all staff helping customers but still as they worked they took the time to talk me through do and don’ts. I can’t thank them enough. I will definitely be back!

Mary Jo went out of her way to help me. I needed a figurine from Hancock Fabrics to complete a set I had started. My store in Scottsdale was sold out. The closest stores that had the figurines were in Tucson. I called Mary Jo’s store. They had just sold out their figurines also. She promised me she would drive over to the other Hancock Fabric Store and get the figurine for me. She picked it up, boxed it up, and sent it to me. THATISTRUECUSTOMERSERVICE

I’m not sure what goes wrong in this store, but every visit has been a disaster. First and foremost, the staff seems hired based on incompetence and lack of attention span, so even a simple request becomes time consuming. They don’t appear to be able to focus on the task at hand, so while measuring your fabric they pause to chat with someone, or to look at who is passing the counter… and lose their place in your measurement, forcing them to start again. In short, it’s painful. That said, their prices are outrageous: second quality goods at premium prices. Lots of polyester; narrow selection of upholstery fabrics and all of it costing about twice what it is actually worth. Save yourself money, time and aggravation — head to the other side of town to SAS.

What a rip off!!! All I wanted was a bit of a remnant for a project I am working on. So, I was delighted when I found a bin of $ 2.00 a yard fabric. Just what I needed… When I went to purchase my 1.42 yard remnant, I was told it would be over $ 7.00. I said, «No!» So, the clerk explained to me this fabric was 60% off $ 15.99 a yard. I told her I got it out of the $ 2.00 bin and she said she would adjust it. So, then she charged me $ 3.88 for my 1.42 yard remnant. Now, I’m not great at math, but can figure 1.42 times $ 2.00 is NOT $ 3.88 in my head. So, they then explained to me that the $ 2.00 was for«fashion» fabric and what I purchased was, «Decorator» fabric. It wasn’t enough money to argue about so I just left. However, I now know to ask before I buy anything(if I do in fact go back).

Ok. This is a fabric store and really not much more. It had the fabric that I was looking for, which was cheap material to make a fake sari for a costume party. The cashier was sweet and helpful. Hancock had what I needed at a decent price. My review shouldn’t be taken to seriously since I’m not really a fabric snob!

A nice, friendly, large fabric store and sewing machine dealer, for quilters, fashion and home sewers, upholstery and drapery fabrics. A REAL fabric store, yay! Delightful folks to chat with, here, and some very interesting rare fabrics.
