I ordered the Feta fries and the pork souvlaki. Feta fries were great because feta but the pork was overcooked/dry/tough and the french fries in the sandwich were more of a filler than an awesome topping like I’d hoped for. I don’t have any intentions of returning but the food isn’t inedible.

Since our favorite place for a simple Gyro and Greek salad closed, we had searched for a new place. We love Athens on Fourth, but that entails a full meal, wine, etc. First of all, Greek House is stringently clean. They play charming Greek music and it’s decorated in Greek fashion. The employees are very courteous and know their menu. We ordered Gyros(no fries) and a Greek salad to go. I was thrilled to see the Gyro meat roasting before our eyes and being freshly carved. I despise ordering a Gyro and being served pre-formed patties. The meat was perfectly carved and seasoned to perfection. The pita was wonderful, and the tomatoes were fresh and sweet. It was one of the best Gyros I’ve ever had. The Greek salad was huge! Enough for two people, easily. They serve a creamy feta dressing with it that is simply fantastic. We are used to a vinaigrette with a Greek salad, but this dressing puts them all in the shade. The olives were pitted, the tomatoes, onions and cucumbers fresh and the lettuce crispy. We are thrilled to find such a wonderful Greek restaurant so close to home. I must thank my fellow Unilocalers, your reviews led us to try this gem!

Let me begin by stating that there aren’t enough stars possible to do the food justice! Unfortunately, my two experiences with the service had to drop my rating to just three stars. The first time I tried the Greek House was about a year ago. I called in an order and when I got there, not only was it not ready, but I waited more than 45 minutes for just a gyro and fries. Today, a co-worker and I called for a delivery order(we work less than 1 mile away, right on Speedway). We called at 11:35 and didn’t receive our order until just after 1:00. We were given an estimate of 45 minutes, but when we called after 1 hour they still hadn’t made it. They said they were very busy, but wouldn’t offer anything in compensation except a possible discount on a future order. My co-worker and I both spent many, many years in the customer service industry and this lack of willingness to make it right is just not acceptable. I ordered a salad with gyro meat and it was delicious. There was a Greek vinaigrette and a creamy feta dressing included and they were both amazing. I do have to commend them for remembering that I wanted the salad with no onions. The meat was perfectly cooked and had an amazing flavor. There were lots of peeled cucumber chunks and tasty tomatoes, along with just the right amount of crumbled feta. The lettuce was very fresh and crisp. I don’t want to give up on the Greek House but hope that they will realize the importance of good customer service, and appreciate the fact that people have set times for lunch breaks and a 45 minute delivery window should be just that. When the wait nearly doubles the customer should be contacted about the extreme delay and/or compensated in some way.

*Quick update — added a star for the recent décor. They really do have it all now! Even helped my by prepping ouzo cake for my father’s birthday! Always looking to try something new, we were looking for a casual Greek place to eat tonight and we stumbled onto The Greek House. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and my husband ordered the pork souvlaki. The came in warm pittas with the usual fixings plus fries and were delicious; seasoned just perfect. As sides we ordered a small spanikopeta and feta fries. The spanikopeta was flakey and had a generous helping of spinach inside. The feta fries were a special treat. The feta melts down into the fries which have a mild lemon sauce leaving your mouth refreshed. Since we had ordered so much, we took home the baklava to eat later. The owner was very friendly. She shared the burgers are handmade and that a great way to eat the baklava is crumbled over ice cream. We will be back!

Greek done good! Very authentic. Large servings for a great price. Right next to UofA and the downtown area. If you want something totally different that will become your new guilty pleasure, try the Mega Fries. Enjoy.

Please Please Please guys we need to work on the frying skills, Overdone fries ruin the taste of the amazing Gyro you guys make. I love the Gyro but you keep disappointing me when I go ahead and get the combo and my fries are overdone.

It’s a small restaurant that plays Greek music, that was a nice touch… Even if I cannot understand it. Order at the counter, the college gal who assisted me was pleasant. I’ve never had Dolmathe so I cannot compare but they were lovely! The leaves were tender, there was some sort of lemon like sauce oozing from them, salad was good, then I subbed my rice for fries topped with feta for additional $ 2. Now the first bit of fries had a nice slight oil to them that mixed well with the feta but after going through those the fries were dry and lacking flavor… Not worth the subbing I did. All in all a nice lunch and prices are great

Me and my family love Greek food but haven’t found a great place to go. That is until we found this place. The gyros are delicious and the baklava is to die for. It is a little small in there but well worth it… see my full review here

I can walk from my office on campus — the food is consistently good. The gyro salad is perfect for a filling & healthy lunch option. If you want to splurge — the mega fries are to die for. I usually take my food out as the music is always very loud. It’s a bit overwhelming when you need to quiet lunch break.

Great gyros here, probably the best greek food around campus. Service is super super super slow though plan to wait at least 15 – 20 mins for your gyro to get served to you. Although that sucks. at least I know my food is fresh which makes up for it. Come if you want some good greek food but only if you have time to wait.

Best Greek food in all of Tucson! Very filling! Good selection. Fried zucchini is a meal in itself. Very fresh and service was great!

Yumm mmmm Greek House, the Hercules and feta fries were incredibly delicious!!! Thanks for doing such a bang up job and delivering some awesome pre-thanksgiving feast! Delivery dude was cheery and nice! It was my first time having the Hercules burger and feta fries which were just fabulous! Burger was cooked perfectly, I said justy a little bit of pink in center and it was done perfect! Topped with the gyro meat, omg, a tomatoe, not to much lettuce and a nice baked roll. Mmmmmmmmm… The fries were loaded with cheese and even though it was delivery still the right amount of french in the fry! And ohh that melted yummy feta cheese! I’m so happy I can write such an awesome review! Yay! Gobble gobble folks!

Pretty delicious! My husband and I split the Wildcat gyro, O. G Salad and Mega fries — we ordered this having no idea how big the portion sizes were going to be and had leftovers while managing to eat ourselves full. The wildcat gyro was really tasty! I was a little skeptical about the fries inside the gyro but it proved to be a good call. The O. G salad was alright — it had al little too much feta, I know I can’t even image every saying something has«too much cheese» but it was a little overwhelming in flavor. The Mega fries were really good and definitely live up to their name. The toppings for the fries were generous, allowing all fries to be consumed with flavor.

LOVE. No, really. I LOVE this place. Number one, it is clean, clean, clean. Second, it is fresh. The food was hot off the grill, the fries were the perfect crispiness, the gyro was big and beautiful. One negative– I don’t like french fries in my gyro so next time, I’ll request mine without. Third, the price is awesome. My husband and I ate a large, fresh meal for 20 bucks. Oh and the girl at the counter was awesome! I am returning the next time I’m craving greek food!

Considering I go to school across the street can’t believe I pass this place! The Greek fries and gyro were amazing! The feta cheese and the lathered sauce were just mouthwatering and killer! Now the wrap was the best with seared meat! Top that with a good ambiance, chill space and walking area and this place is a gem in the desert!

The Greek House is pretty darn tasty. I only had the gyro, but everything about it was delicious. The meat was great, along with the sauce and tomato made the whole gyro come together. The atmosphere and customer service was only ok, but I want to give it the benefit of the doubt since it wasn’t during there peak hours. I would definitely try this place again!

Eat Greek! I stopped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I’m jealous of all you college kids who can get some tasty delivery. I’m a sucker for fries inside of a sandwich. Seriously, why don’t more places do that? Greek House’s chicken souvlaki sandwich has fries wrapped up with chunks of marinated chicken breasts in a pita. I love the tzatziki sauce that it is served with and wish I had asked for an extra side. Their tzatziki is worthy of the Greek gods. I made it a combo, so it came with a fountain drink and fries. I asked if I could upgrade my fries to the feta fries. No problemo! The combination of fries, lemon sauce, tons of feta and oregano hit the spot. They were not chincy on the feta and I appreciated that. They also have crazy burgers that I did not try. Burgers topped with pastrami, burgers topped with gyro meat. Meat is now America’s #2 condiment according to the Onion. Meat with a side of meat. Worthy of Hermes– the god of meat and feasting.

Greek House is the only place within walking distance from my lab that’s worth a damn. I could end my review there, but wordy is my style. The food here is really good. The falafel platter is my favorite, with fresh falafel, delicious pilaf, and a side salad. A great meal. Their tzatziki and garlic dressings taste great and are very indulgent. The gyro meat is tender, fresh, and flavorful, and is the highlight of many dishes here. A particularly notable one is the gyro burger. I thought that gyro meat substituted the burger meat but I was mistaken. Gyro meat INADDITIONTO burger meat. Meat meets meat. So indulgent. So good. Not to be missed at Greek House: fries. The fries here are slowly becoming a favorite of mine. They are perfectly fried homely potato goodness. Other establishment should come taste these fries for reference. The fries with gyro meat are, dare I say it again, indulgent. This place’s storefront has terrible luck; I’ve seen multiple businesses before Greek House fail at this very location. I don’t know why, considering the location is practically on campus. Hope Greek House is the one to break this unfortunate tradition.
