Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

I spoke the next day with Barney Confrey managing partner of Fleming’s of Tucson. He sincerely apologized for our issues that eveing and in the past. He explained these were not normal or conforming to their policy. Also that he would share my review to address and retrain his staff. Plus he sent some gift certificates Fed-​X a few days later with a personal note. We will be returning to Fleming’s and will post additional reviews in the future.

so overrated! we bought the gift cards at costco to try something new. what a waste of money. we called to make reservations and they asked us what we were celebrating… apparently two adults have to be celebrating to enjoy a meal together. we arrived and were asked again what we were celebrating… we were celebrating eating a regular dinner! we were sat at a table right next to the kitchen. the entire place was so loud! we could hardly hear each other across the table. We ordered our meal. Both salad wedges were over dressed and became inedible. we could hear all of the wait staff just carrying on with their personal conversations right next to us. our bread came out after our salads were at the table and the bread was blah. the butter was. blah. Firebirds bread is 100% better! Our steaks arrived and my steak was under cooked and his steak was over cooked. the «manager» came by and asked if we wanted them to make another steak. we said no because a «nice» steakhouse should be able to cook a steak to the desired done ness the first time. we were ignored the rest of the evening with the exception of asking if we wanted dessert 4 different times! the men’s restroom had pee all over the floor. we told the staff and they never cleaned it up. I would not go back! I would not recommend to anyone! Save your time and your money for another business. and it’s not as classy as you think it should be! you could go in sweats!

Horrible quality. I was with a large group. Just because there is a large group, that is not an excuse for the lack of quality. My filet was supposed to be medium rare, blackened. I received a thin, dry, stringy filet that was cooked medium and charred on the outside. It had absolutely no flavor. I have never seen a group dinner before where most everyone at the table left part of their filet uneaten. The sides were okay, but inconsistently prepared. I have been to other Fleming’s in other cities and have had great meals. This one, never again…

Waited 30 minutes with reservations for a booth. We were seated in the dining floor area. Reminiscent of visiting grandparents in the dining hall at the nursing home. Noisy and impossible to move out of your seat as the tables are packed so tightly together. Thumbs up to the servers who are able to move in and out, and around the tables. Good job! Sea bass was soupy and served in its cooking reduction sauce. Steaks are wonderful. No special recognition for the birthday celebration. Family and I were very disappointed. Sad.

I’ve been to Flemings a number of times over the years, when I lived out East. This was my first time to the one in Tucson since I moved here in 2004.
Atmosphere: We went on a Wednesday night and it was busier then I expected. The lighting is a bit low, akin to a steakhouse of this caliber, so I saw people pulling out their phones using the flashlight to read the menu. It was honestly too loud for me, there was a constant medium level buzz from the chatting and it seemed like it continued to rise as each table was trying to speak loud enough for thier companions to hear.
Service: As would be expected. Our server was great, friendly, engage-​able and obviously a veteran in the high-​end food service industry. No request was ignored and every request we made was promptly delivered on.
Food: I started with the soup special which was a Stella based beer and cheddar soup. It was good, not outstanding though. Entrée wise I have the dry-​aged rib eye, medium rare of course. it was fantastic, we also had some side sauces which were all great. For the sides, we had Flemings potatoes, creamed spinach, macaroni and cheese, and onion rings. All great selections, the Fleming potatoes was the winning dish in the sides. We washed it down with a very good mid-​grade Australian Syrah. Desert we had the volcano lava cake, for me it was OK, probably with get something different next time.
Overall: Really difficult to beat Flemings on quality and service. If I was able I would go at least once a week.

Best steaks in Tucson! The truffle oil mash potatoes were absolutely amazing. Our NY strip and petite filet mignon were cooked perfectly. We get the calamari to start — the banana peppers made them interesting, but delicious! My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary and it’s a great dining experience for special occasions. Our waiter gave us boxed truffles at the end and it was so sweet!

Fleming’s is the best place to get a steak in Tucson (2^nd best: Signature Grill at the JW Marriott).
I got the Filet mignon which came out perfectly. this place is quite pricey but a great place to splurge for a special occasion!

We were in from out of town looking for a place to take my in laws for their 40^th wedding anniversary. Based off of good reviews online we picked Flemings.
The customer service was incredible from start to finish. The four of us had drinks, all had steak, two sides and two desserts which came to about $ 350… this is not a cheap meal. However, the petite filet I had was the best steak I’ve ever had (comparing to steak houses throughout Seattle). I was very impressed with all the food/​drinks we had and I’m really glad that we picked Flemings.
I was a little surprised that they didn’t bring a dessert on the house for my in laws since they knew we were celebrating but after dinner they brought truffles in a pre-​wrapped box with a candle. It seemed a little strange to bring something with a candle out after we had already paid but my in laws were happy and that’s all that matters.
Overall, very expensive meal but if you’re looking for a great experience and wonderful food, it’s worth it!

We dined at Flemings on Christmas Eve. It was extraordinary.
Pricey, but worth the cost of the meal and the service. Our server Samantha was so pleasant and helpful. In the background were 3 other wait staff that was making sure that hot drinks and cold water was continuously filled.
I usually don’t like to eat out during the holidays as the service is spotty and the meals are not up to par. I haven’t had a dining experience so nice since we left Portland, OR. This is a nice place and has incredible aged steaks. For a special occasion, this is the place to go.

Took my staff here for a year end dinner. We were seated within 5 minutes of our reservation. The atmosphere was inviting. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The food came out in proper rotation and cooked as ordered. Our drinks were always topped off and the food was delicious. Check out the potatoes with jalapeños they are fabulous!

On a trip for work, I stopped here because they have an awesome happy hour menu. That, and because my hotel was next door.
My server was attentive, and they found me a table in the bar despite being busy during happy hour and my being alone.
Their Prime Burger made medium rare is hard to beat, especially with the bacon and cheddar cheese. I’m not sure, but they may mix in a little cocaine (ok, probably, not but it could be that addictive).
The happy hour here is really hard to beat.

Upon arriving the hostess and waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and we were. There was no extra endowment for the occasion. One of the steaks was over cooked and felt both of them lacked flavor. Disappointed in the french onion soup as well. We order calamari, which had a good spicy flavor but if you don’t eat it fast enough it gets soggy from the sauce its tossed in. You will leave super full (reason for two stars) but taste buds will be disappointed. I had better service from the busser than the waiter himself. This overall was a huge disappointing since everyone recommended and we’ve been to Sullivans several times before and wanting to have an alternative location for special occasion. We will not be returning.

First of all, I would have given Fleming’s 5 stars for service, and 5 stars for the dessert. Both were excellent. We went recently for our anniversary (which we mentioned when we made the reservation), and when we arrived they wished us happy anniversary, gave us a card with a handwritten note, put candles in our dessert (a little weird for an anniversary, but it was fun), and a box of truffles as we were leaving. The server was friendly without being overly so, helpful in answering our questions, and overall provided great service. She recommended the chocolate lava cake, and we were incredibly glad we took her suggestion. It was the best dessert I’ve had in Tucson.
The only real complaint we had was the food being too salty. It would have been delicious if it weren’t for all the salt (and it was pretty delicious in spite of the salt too). The butter that came with the bread was rich and creamy (almost cheesy), but a little too salty. The clam chowder was delicious, but too salty. The French onion soup even seemed too salty, although I recognize it’s supposed to be pretty salty. I had the Newport filet mignon with porcini sauce, which is served with potatoes, and both seemed like they had too much salt. My husband had the bone in ribeye, which he said was delicious, but by the time he’d finished said even that was a little salty.
To be fair, we didn’t order wine, so maybe that would have made a difference? It just seemed odd that everything erred on the side of salty, and I really wasn’t expecting it, since the reviews were so positive and the restaurant was so nice in every other way. It’s not like they needed the salt to cover up quality or flavor or anything, since both were top notch.
We’ll probably try it again, perhaps the happy hour, which I’ve heard is great. And we’ll definitely be back for dessert!

While visiting Tucson, we stayed at Embassy Suites Paloma Village right next door to Fleming’s. Two words: HAPPY HOUR. Fleming’s is known for the awesome but pricey steaks. Have no fear… the happy hour menu saves the evening with the $ 7 a la carte burger with fries until 7pm. Between 5−7pm, there is a $ 6 happy hour menu. Between 8−10pm, the menu is $ 9. Or, you can sit in the restaurant portion and dump a quick $ 100.
We went in on a Saturday evening around 6pm and the bar was packed but luckily we were able to find two seats at the bar. The bartenders were both super friendly… pretty sure this is a good secret if you are in Tucson.

Very tasty food. Very good service. Nice ambiance and tables. Fleming’s is an overall great fine dining experience. Went there with my girlfriend for an anniversary dinner and it was great.
We got French onion soup; it was the best French onion I’ve ever had. I got filet mignon and salmon. Both were delicious! I got my filet cooked rare, and boy was it! Probably the rarest piece of meat I’ve ever had (which I like). We also got a delicious crème brule. We got a good pinot noir called A Z.
The food is very expensive. It’s worth it I’d say but at my pay grade it’s not somewhere I’d go very often. If I’m going to spend that kind of money again it’ll be for a more earth-​shattering experience.

Great service, drinks, food and ambiance! Only reason for 4 stars is the price per quality ratio. I got a fillet mignon steak with salmon and the fillet mignon was dry and not juicy. I had it cooked medium rare, so that made no sense. It also had limited flavor. I suspect it was frozen…
I get steak weekly at Pastiche, a modern restaurant in central Tuscan and their steak is better than Flemings and ¼ the price!!! Not even joking!!!
The salmon should have had the skin on, because the seared sides were overcooked and chewy (obviously, fish is delicate).
The blueberry lemon drop cocktail is super amazing!!! Honestly, unless you’re a pretentious person who wants to get vallet parking next to regular parking and watch managers float around in suits at dinner– Flemings might be for you. If you still want the bang for your buck, and local businesses, try Pastiche or Wild Garlic Grill. Worth the money!

This looks like a great place for one of our upscale meetup groups. It will be fun to try this out with some other foodies. Great location and nice staff.

My husband was craving steak one Saturday night and, at the last minute, made a dinner reservation at Fleming’s based on great reviews on Unilocal and its proximity to home.
We were out shopping that afternoon and so I was wearing jeans and sneakers (albeit a nice pair of Pumas). I should have asked my husband about the dress code because when we entered the main hall, most, if not all, patrons were dressed up. I should have worn a cocktail dress. But since it was the point of no return at that point, I bravely marched toward our designated table.
Even though I was underdressed, I didn’t feel at all unwelcome or uncomfortable. Our waitress, the manager and the rest of the wait stuff were all courteous, attentive and friendly. Our waitress gave very good recommendations and explanations whenever I had questions. The manager also came by during our meal to introduce himself and ask how everything was.
For starters, I got the clam chowder which was so thick and creamy… just perfect! My husband got the shrimp cocktail and he liked it too.
As for our entrees, our waitress explained very well the differences between the Prime New York strip and the Wagyu New York strip. It turns out that Wagyu is more marbly than Prime and so I decided to get that. I used to live in Japan and I’m a big fan of the different well-​known Wagyu beef, namely, Kobe, Hida and Matsuzaka. I ordered my Wagyu at Fleming’s medium rare. My husband chose the Craftsman Prime Ribeye, also medium-​rare. From the first bite to the last, I was in meat nirvana! The Wagyu was perfectly balanced, tender and juicy. The seasoning was a great combination with the steak too. I hate fighting with my steak, and in this case, it was a harmonious dance of knife and fork all throughout. My husband was so happy with his steak that he had finished his very quickly. We also shared a side of baked potato. The baked potato looked like a lasagna! And, it tasted yummy!
We were already getting full at this point but when the waitress asked us if we wanted the Choco lava cake for dessert, we said «yes»! The cake was sinfully delicious. We left Fleming’s in a blissfully-​stuffed state.
Fleming’s is quite pricey but for the rare special occasion when a person just has to have extraordinary steaks, Fleming’s is the place!

Chains aren’t really my thing, but I even can’t deny that Flemings serves up the best deal in town. Wichita doubt you’re paying for it, but then again they do only serve Prime beef. I don’t love steakhouses in general– but I do love steak and I can count on a consistent steak from good olé Flemings. A juicy New storm strip is my go-​to order!

I am gonna do something I hardly ever do… I will gush about Fleming’s. Let me tell you, choose Fleming’s for a special occasion and you are in for a treat.
It’s an anniversary date for my wife and me. We had reservations and, unlike some places, that means something; there is no wait when we arrive, despite a crowded restaurant.
I, myself, can’t start out a meal like this with anything other than a classic steakhouse martini. They prepare it to your liking, dirty or not, and garnish it with bleu cheese olives.
The food — everything from housemade sourdough bread served with infused butters to the prosciutto wrapped shrimp to the Caesar salad to the expertly cooked filet (paired with the recommended cabernet) and perfectly prepared lobster alongside clarified butter being kept warm with a tealight was bliss.
The flourless chocolate cake with a bowl of Chantilly cream was the perfect end to this unforgettable meal.
From the time we showed up to the time we left the service we got was unparalleled. Everyone that visited our table wished us happy anniversary. It’s little touches like that that sets Fleming’s apart from other places when it comes to special occasions.
