Desert Bloom Obstetrics

Thanks to Unilocal review, so I decided to give it a try. I really cannot complain much about this place. Clean, friendly staff, and Kathy was very thorough when I see her. I really do recommend ladies to come here. Oh, they have a rope that you will change into instead of the paper gown some places still do nowadays.

Never in my life have I waited 2 hours for every single appointment we have with them. Why make appointments?! This office has never been on time when I have come in. Love Dr. Mainman but I don’t wanna sit in anyone’s office for 3 hours just to see the Dr. For 15 minutes. Ridiculous.

I found Desert Bloom via google reviews and came to them for my third pregnancy which resulted in a miscarriage. They examined me very thoroughly and referred me to a wonderful specialist, Dr. Hutchison. After getting pregnant again for the 4^th time (no babies yet), I went back to them and thus far they have been very accommodating, understanding, and professional. I imagined going into an office and being another number but so far I actually feel like they know me (even if that may not be the case). The staff rotate their patients so each gets an opportunity to get to know you! I know that I may be a little more nervous than the typical first time mom but they don’t make me feel like I am burdening them and empathize for me. So far I am very pleased with the services baby and I are receiving!

I made my initial review on my office exam which was good. Getting my test results was a different story. I had to wait a month and two days to get my results. I was told the lab wasn’t sending my results over but they had proof of faxing them over almost ten times. It turns out they sent the wrong fax information for my doctor at desert bloom. Will not return for this reason. They would not take responsibility for their mistake.

What an awesome office, staff and doctors!!! I was expecting my first child and was previously at another facility but wasn’t recieving the care I felt was appropriate for a pregnancy. I then decided to switch doctor’s and asked co-​workers and family for recommendations and was recommended to Desert Bloom.
Right away I was taken care of. Everyone at Desert Bloom makes you feel comfortable. Never rushing you, there to answer any questions and very caring. And if I had any questions or concerns I would ask for Rochelle she was such a sweetheart (although everyone else was as well).
I had never had a male ob and was pretty nervous about it I must say. But after having Dr. David Mainman as my doctor I could say I was nervous over nothing. He is THE best ob I’ve had. He makes u feel welcomed and worry free. He delivered my first born and will do so any other children I may have in the future! Oh and they have this awesome parking area right in their parking lot for when you deliver you can park there instead of the parking garage that’s on the other side of the hospital.
Dersert Bloom is definitely worth the 45 minute drive from my home!

Not a very helpful staff– Spoke to both front desk girl AND office manager. My family is re-​locating from the East Coast to AZ and wanted to plan ahead to make sure I was covered– Obv cause that’s the first thing you do when you are pregnant and moving that far, is to make sure you are covered especially if you are paying top dollar for your insurance. After calling Carefirst they told me to give them the provider number so they can check to make sure of coverage but this office refused and only checked their computer systems. They continuously stated that the only way they can check is if I make an appointment and bring my card that first day. Why would i do that not knowing if im covered or not? Other offices were nice enough to help, why couldn’t they? Thanks… for nothing!

Both Dr. Andrea Mainman and Dr. David Mainman made my pregnancy and delivery a wonderful experience. They have been incredibly professional and knowledgable. As a registered nurse I have a unique prospective, and I appreciate the availability and approachability they posses. Both the office and hospital are beautiful and clean. I highly recommend them.

I chose Desert Bloom for obstetric care when I found out my (then) current Ob/​Gyn was retiring and I was expecting my 3^rd child. I had an excellent Dr before and was a bit nervous about finding someone I liked.
I loved that their were 3 Dr’s to see at any given time. This made it very easy to get in for monthly appointments. I had my last child two and a half years ago and continue to visit their office for gynecological care. Although, I have not met Dr. Hoskins, I have worked with both of the Mainmans. They are both professional and personable. I now continue to see Dr. Dave and I am impressed with the amount of time he takes to address your questions or concerns. He is very down to earth and easy to talk to. I have never had any uneasy feelings about visiting their practice.
The staff here have always been courteous and timely. I have always been able to get an appointment with as little as a weeks notice.

Desert bloom is one of the best ob/​gyns I’ve ever been to! All 3 doctors are very professional and efficient, I have never felt uncomfortable, and they are very thorough with test results/​answering questions. My primary Dr is Timothy Hoskins and he has been nothing short of perfect with my care! None of my exams have ever hurt, or been traumatic– and he and I get along very well! The environment in the office is calming, the staff is very nice, they even give you a robe and blanket for exams! My experience is a very positive one, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my gynecologic health.

My doctor was horrible, (Timothy Hoskins). He had no bedside manner. Even though all the reviews said he did! He was very rude about the concerns I brought up to him and was so awkward and nervous acting around me that he made me feel really uncomfortable! I have had male doctors all my life and have never felt that way before. I asked him to switch me to a different birth control pill bc of awful side effects I was having and he prescribed a generic of the same pill I was already taking! He actually googled my pill right in front of me to read more about it! I called back four times to ask about this and my calls were never returned and a new prescription was never called in. Also, I was billed for an office visit instead of a free well woman exam bc they told me I was not «well» at the time of my visit. Since I had an issue with the bc pill I was told I had to be charged for an office visit! I also had another prescription that I needed this doctor to refill and he completely wrote the script wrong. Wrong dosage and everything! It took another round of repeated phone calls to their incompetent office staff to get this corrected! This is the worst doctor’s office ever! Do not be tricked by all the good reviews out there like I was.

While trying to determine if I was pregnant, I googled a practice which would accept me being over 40 and having some infertility issues. I picked this practice because on their website it states they do advanced maternal age as well as infertility counseling. When I arrived I was told by the doctor the urine test was negative and there was basically no way I was pregnant. Even though urine tests are notoriously unreliable. I was give a referral to a specialist. I was not even provided a pap or a breast exam. He did not even offer an ultrasound. Needless to say I was a little frustrated with his lack of concern and general callousness. If you have infertility issues and happen to get pregnant as an older woman, I do not recommend Dr. Tim Hoskins at all. He also looked at us as though we were less than because we are not ideal weight. Please tell your friends do not go to this practice.
