Bagel Joint

I lived in New England for about 7 years and became such a fan of bagels and these are the real thing! Just like the ones they sale on the East Coast. I tried other bagels in Tucson and I really believe these are the best ones in Arizona

Best bagels in town, hands down. Tastes as good as Boston’s Bagels. Small business and locally owned.

Finally there is a real bagel shop in town again. I have been mourning the loss of The Bagelry ever since it closed and am super excited that we finally have a place that makes bagels from scratch again. So delicious. Everything I could ask for and more. Plus they gave my kids dough to play with as they were making bagels when we arrived.

Although this place is quite far from my house, whenever I know that I am going to be in the area, I call and have them make me some bialys, and they’re ready for me to take home by the time I get there. Nowhere in town has them (that I know of) and I love them, so THANK YOU Bagel Joint ! You made an East coast lady very happy !!

Came here once, the bagel was very good. Made a special trip this morning for more… to find they are closed on Monday!!! I’m sorry that if you own a bagel shop you have to go in to work every day but that’s the business. Three others found a locked door as I did. We all left for Brueggers. They are open.

My everything bagel was perfectly (double) toasted and well cream-​cheesed. I really liked this place, and it was nice and quiet. I’d like to try their coffee too next time, and maybe the lox, or an egg sandwich.

This shop is awesome. Walk in and it smells like fresh dough and toasting bagels. The décor is sparse but very clean. Walking up to the counter I noticed that they have my coveted Salt bagels. For those of you aware of the war on salt, these are becoming harder to find. That right there sold me, but if that wasn’t enough their everything bagels were also on point. I went here three days in a row the bagels are that good.
Definitely skip the boring chain bagel and hit up the Bagel Joint. You won’t regret it! No boring bagels here… although I’m sure they offer plain ones too.

I normally go to brueggers because it’s near my house but I met a friend here for breakfast and lemme say, the smoked salmon cream cheese on a plain bagel with tomato and onion is phenomenal! That’s what she ordered and is now my favorite. I had jalapeño something and it was good but I prefer the salmon.
The bagels are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and just super delicious.
Wish there was another sweet cream cheese option for my daughter. She did like the honey walnut but prefers strawberry or blueberry.
Give the place a try!

Finally some very good bagels for Arizona!
Not the world’s best (That would be NY City of course), but seriously better than most and that’s a fact.
How can you tell a good bagel from a super market bagel? Easy, it’s DOESN’T need to be toasted to be enjoyed. Simply just to have a chewy outside and dense interior but without breaking a tooth.
Myself I normally try to avoid carbs but once in a while I just have to cheat.
So give it a shot and support a locally owned business!

Excellent food, good Espresso, and the
owner /​operator is very friendly. If you’re looking for a great place to have a quick lunch or a sit down meal you can do it there!
If you’re a NW side-​er and remember Kelly’s Coffee this is very much the same environment!
If you’re looking for a bagel sandwich and don’t want to pay $ 8.00 like at Einsteins or Brueggers, this is it. Better food, lower price, good location. Remember, «keep it local»!!!

What can I say… well…I don’t really know all that much about bagels, but I do know that the Bagel Joint cranks out some delicious freshly baked goodness on a daily basis. I ordered two dozen bagels for pick up and they baked them to order, just as promised on their website and they even stayed warm in the bag for over an hour. The ordering process was super easy and super friendly. The bagels (sesame) were warm, chewy and fresh. I eat bagels like once a year and this was worth it. Five stars for service, friendliness and totally 100% freshly made product.

I stopped here yesterday with my husband, and had a bagel sandwich with ham and Swiss cheese. It was very good. The actual bagel itself was one of the better ones that I’ve had, the dough just had a certain sweetness to it. They could have the sandwich better — more melty, but if we’re just talking about the bagels, definitely one of the best. They also have an excellent Dijonish mustard. Kinda weird that it came with chips for a breakfast bagel.

My daughter and I came here for breakfast one morning. She got a breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage and cheese and I just got a plain bagel with cream cheese. She took one bite and said «This is just okay». I bit into my bagel which tasted like garlic even though it was plain and I thought the same thing. It was very off putting having such a strong garlic taste when it is supposed to be a plain bagel. My bagel was not really toasted either, just kind of warm.
I saw some of the other reviewers said that the bagel was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and this was definitely not the description of the bagels we received. Maybe ours were leftover from the day before?
I thought the inside was not very inviting and the microwave looked like it had seen better days.

My quest is over. Just like that, something I had been trying to find for a decade was found. My search is done. I have found the best bagels in Tucson, perhaps in all of Arizona, I would even be so bold as to say the entire Western half of the United States.
As everyone knows, Bruegger’s Bagels and I have a relationship. There are locations that I love, locations that I loathe, and all of the bagels are delicious. I have been to New York, and Bruegger’s were the best bagels I had outside of The Boroughs. They are chewy, if somewhat inauthentic, and yummy. The Bagel Joint has officially ruined every other bagel for me. No bagel that I can obtain reasonably will ever be this delicious.
The service was spot on. Every employee I ran in to today was fun and personable, went out of their way to talk to my husband and I about the bagels (and bialys! Yes! They sometimes even have bialys!).
The coffee was really yummy. It was a nice, not-​too-​weak, not-​too-​strong flavor. What I especially enjoyed was that when I ordered my iced coffee, there were no questions like, «Do you want regular or French Toast flavored?» I like my coffee with nothing but a splash of milk, and the coffee here was great.
The cream cheese… oh my gosh. It’s not whipped It’s dense and fresh and I’m sure that they, at the very least, add the veggies to the veggie cream cheese in house, if they don’t make the entire thing there. There is no mistaking that crunchy bell pepper, and it tasted like it had just been added!
Now onto the very best part. The part that made me want to ask if I could build an apartment upstairs just so I could have easy access to these delicious bagels every single day. The bagels. I had an onion with veggie cream cheese and my husband had an everything bagel with plain cream cheese.
Both were so good, they made other bagels seem like there should be another name for them. It’s the difference between Pizza Hut and pizza from Italy. They are both called the same thing, but one is vastly better than the other. (The Bagel Joint being the Italy pizza.) Both were SO flavorful. They were crunchy on the outside, were chewy on the inside. They had a more elastic (in the best, most amazing possible way) texture.
I live WAY yonder by Reid Park, and I can’t come to get these all the day, so I got a Boston Dozen (a dozen plus TWO extra bagels! Score!). I also got some of their cream cheese, which is way denser than it looks. I have no doubt that this will be enough cream cheese to schmear all of my fourteen bagels.
I cannot wait to be back here. I do want to try some of their bialys (they have a pre-​order a dozen thing, so I will make sure to call ahead next time), and I REALLY want to try some more of their menu. There was a certain egg sandwich that looked incredible.

Well, this is the first independent bagel shop in Tucson to open in a very long time. I really want the Bagel Joint to do well, and DO recommend checking it out. It is worth a drive up on Oracle.
That being said, I have found my bagels a little underdone. They are tasty, but are not a GREAT bagel, it is a good bagel, especially in the desert. I will be going back and hope they improve!

Bagels were tasty and a bit different than I’ve had before.
Décor was a bit Spartan. The dueling TVs (with Phox News) made me feel like I was in a bad sports bar.

We just got back last night from New Jersey and I wanted bagels so we tried The Bagel Joint after hearing the bagels are like the ones you get back east. Well they did not disappoint. There was one review about the cream cheese, but I had plenty over the bagel.
We will definitely be back. I hope they pick up business and stay for a long time because it was really good. I cannot wait to go back.

Finally Tucson gets a decent bagel.
This place is no frills — you can get bagels or bagel sandwiches. They have coffee and lattes too. I got a sesame seed bagel with lox. The bagel was a bit small, but the price is low too, so that was fine (14 bagels are $ 10). The quantity of lox was a bit skimpy though.
The bagel itself has a nice texture and good flavor. It’s not too doughy and not too crispy when toasted. It’s not the best I’ve had but it’s miles above Brugger’s or Einstein’s.
My only other complaint is their selection — there are only six or seven different bagel flavors. If you like sweet bagels, you won’t find them here — but they have all the savory staples like sesame, poppy, and everything. EDIT: They have increased their selection to around 12 different flavors, including some sweet flavors. Call ahead if ordering a dozen and you can get any flavor fresh!
Overall, this place is a solid 4 stars. If you’ve been to a legit New York bagel shop, this isn’t that. But if you’re used to Tucson’s mediocre bagel scene, The Bagel Joint will rock your world.

This place is awesome and so needed here in Tucson. We have such a small amount of bagel shops and they’re all corporate chains in their bagels are terrible. This new spot the bagel joint is just what we need.
I went in today after seeing an article in the paper about this new place and their awesome smoked salmon. Sadly they were out of smoked salmon which is probably due to the fact that that was what was featured in the paper and I did go in at 2 PM right before they closed. I did however just have a bagel with cream cheese and let me tell you it was divine. This is a real East Coast bagel shop and their prices are so ridiculous compared to Bruegger’s and Einstein’s, they will blow them out of the water. Will definitely be back, this will be my bagel spot!

I’ve waited for this place to open! As soon as I realized there was a real bagel shop coming to this side of town, I was ecstatic.
The Bagel Joint is the real deal. Tucson has lots of chain bagel places that I’ve been to; hoping for something reminiscent of the old days. Anyone remember The Hot Bagel Bakery? Or the other place that was on Campbell awhile? It feels like it’s been years since we had a really great bagelry here, and never on the North Side.
This place is it. The bagels are awesome, seriously perfect, plus they have great coffee!
So happy they’re here, very cool people too. My new favorite place.
