This is a complete rewrite of my original review, mainly to address the reply from the owner. In forums such as these facts are important and I’ll admit the original review was vague so this aims to rectify that. Kudos to the owner for recognizing the need to monitor her Unilocal reviews and to attempt to address the issue. In regards to the timeliness of this review, that is irrelevant. I don’t always post experiences on Unilocal as they occur, I choose to do reviews in batches. Nowhere in Unilocal policy did I see that reviews need to be timely, but to merely address the situation. The incident that occurred here was many months ago. I had been coming to Planet Smoothie often at the suggestion of my trainer and after the completion of a workout at the gym in the same complex. Of the times that I went here, the staff was friendly. My trainer received a discount as a courtesy to employees of the gym. Of the multiple times when we were there together the discount was offered for all products. I also did not witness any«disrespectful treatment» or «intimidation» toward the PS staff as the owner states, especially when the discount policy suddenly started to vary depending on the employee working. None of it with explanation. An obvious lack of communication and training, but we all fall victim to that given large staffs and frequent turnover. So what I witnessed next was as a customer and a 3rd party to what I will call the customer service incident. My trainer was being denied the customary discount on quest bar products and requested to speak with the manager. I remained silent and observed the entire conversation. The owner came out and proceeded to tell my trainer about the policy of not discounting certain products. Regardless if it was a policy change or enforcement, it was her priority to do so. When something is offered and honored multiple times, a thorough explanation of the change is good customer service. Seems reasonable to me. She never once mentioned that she was addressing poor staff treatment, intimidation, or improper behavior. Again, I never witnessed that. The owner mentioned the slim profit margins on the bar products, which was reasonable. Naturally it occurred to me that despite not making enough profit from those items that a savvy business owner might still allow it for certain centers of influence. Clearly the .30 per bar discount was minuscule compared to the revenue generated by referred clients, such as myself. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s something I’ve rewarded in my business career. Each business owner is free to make those judgements as is their right. I take issue because the owner spent the majority of the conversation talking about how successful she was with her businesses and what a great businesswoman she is and how great her customer service is etc. I also take issue with the attitude dispensed by the owner, and the condescending tone. Sure it was not directed at me, remember I was a silent 3rd party to the conversation. As a customer who was referred to patronize this establishment, that was not what I was expecting. Obviously she felt that her staff was mistreated(something I never witnessed) and was responding in kind. The subsequent reply to my initial review reminded me of the conversation I witnessed, it was defensive and the underlying tone is that she was justified in her actions. I disagree. In truth I will eventually remove the review, but it is my hope that the owner learn from her mistake and be open minded enough to realize it. I’ve been in similar situations and that no matter how successful she thinks she is that there are always ways to improve. We all need this feedback in business.

First time here & was super impressed. Super friendly staff & very clean place with near modern décor. Not only do they have smoothies, but they also have frozen yogurt by the ounce and acai bowls. This time I had the berry ba-da Bing smoothie and it was delish. I was so sad when I was done with it lol. Definitely coming back when I want a sweet healthy treat.

I have gone by this place probably 50 times and have never gone in until today and I must say that was a mistake. I wish I would have known how good this place was sooner. Super friendly staff and excellent smoothies with a wide variety of flavors. Very impressed.

Had a pretty hard leg day at platinum fitness(which is right next to this location) and I eventually decided to try planet smoothie. Wow! I will never go anywhere else in Tucson! Had a Java the Nut and it is so delicious. The employees were friendly and made sure to maintain a conversation with me instead of boredly ignoring me as they made the smoothie. Good training and you obviously have people who care about their jobs. The interior is cute and they offer a ton of meal replacement snacks including a full range of vegan cookies from Alternative Baking Company(which are sinfully good, I might add). Also, reading the owner’s bio, she obviously cares about using her profits to make the world a better place. What’s not to love? The only thing I would say is that I wish they opened a little earlier. I like to hit the gym around 4 or 5 am and I have to go home and come back if I want to drop by planet smoothie.

First timer at Planet Smoothie and I needed a workout recovery smoothie. The guy behind the counter recommended a Planet Pro Lite with strawberries, bananas and peanut butter. Excellent! I’ll be back.

Just came in for a quick energy smoothie. The staff was really courteous and they have a nice selection of different types of smoothie combos or you can create your own flavor combo. Had an açai bowl made into a smoothie subbing blueberries for the bananas w/o missing a step. They also had a nice selection of frozen yogurt, which you can get free samples of. The prices are on par w/Jamba Juice and other similar smoothie outlets markup, but you get what you pay for with good quality ingredients.

I wanted a healthy smoothie for dinner. This place gave me what I needed, terrific staff, fantastic drink, and a porch swing chill on. Not in the mood for a smoothie? They’ve got yogurt machines with add-ins.

I come here at least 3 – 4 times a week and it’s amazing every time! Although it could get pricy coming here so much I really don’t care hahah I’m feeding my muscles and getting soo many nutrients that help me get thru my day! Wheatgrass is the way to go. It has 6lbs of veggies for every 2oz shot you drink! Love it! I recently discovered the acai bowl and I add greens a multivitamin and immunity blast with all the other deliciousness that comes in it! I can’t get enough of this place I give it an A++++

The staff here are great! They seem genuinely happy to be at work and will take your order with a smile. I tried the«Screamsicle», which is a citrusy blend with your choice of a free multivitamin or immunity-boosting supplement. It was yummy! It tasted very real, which I appreciate. Be aware that the portion sizes here are enormous. I got a «Light» size, and it was still almost too much for me. I can’t imagine being able to even come close to finishing a Large!

Although I’ve been a user of Unilocal for years, I’ve never written a review. This experience is so messed up, I feel the need to share it with others so it won’t happen to them. I came out of the Tucson mall last Wednesday to find a Planet Smoothie coupon tucked into my car window. When I went to redeem it on Saturday, the young lady working refused to take it, rudely saying they hadn’t accepted those coupons for awhile, even though it had no expiration date. She discarded the coupon, i guess so i couldn’t try to reuse it, acting like I was trying to scam them. If you’re going to drop coupons on cars, it’s ridiculous to refuse them. This is deceptive marketing and will NOT draw in new business. I won’t be back. I’m not sure what kind of business this is supposed to be, but it’s not a good one!

Good: — Very friendly staff. — Gluten free treats. Lame: — Looks and feels like they are trying to be Jamba Juice, even the cups. They need their own«voice», so to speak. — My smoothie was tasty, but much too sugary. I might try it again if it were convenient, but I won’t go out of my way. Overall, I give it a «meh.»

Came here twice! First time i tried«the last mango», and my brother ordered«shag a delic». My drink tasted pretty plain –_– but I managed to drank it all anyways. My brother say his was okay, his drink contains different type of berries. Two small cup came out to be $ 8.99(pretty expensive). Also, they give u reward stars(10 drinks = 1 free). Second time I came here to tried out the frozen yogurt, I didn’t want to come here for froyo but for some reason I couldn’t find the place I wanted to go too. Since I was really craving for froyo, I stopped by here. They didn’t have alot of varieties about 6 flavors. Only the plain tart was decent tasting, the rest is either super sweet or not true froyo texture. I wouldn’t come back here, unless I really want to drink a smoothie. The service was friendly. Parking is plenty. It’s not pack in here. Everytime I came it’s only me and my brother. LOL

Yum! I’ve been wanting to try this place as I drive past there nearly every day but when the NW Food Truck roundup was in their parking lot — it was the perfect chance to give it a try. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly patient and knowledgable. My daughter and I ordered 2 different smoothies and they were both very good. I will be visiting soon!

Okay I wanted to update my review because I have gone back a few times and have tried something different each time. I am still in love! I have now had 3 different smoothies all from different categories(a peanut butter one, strawberry one and a coffee one) and they have all been amazing! Something that I wish though… I wish they were open earlier. Like this morning I would love to go before my workout but I cant because they dont open until 10. :(
