Tualatin’s #1 Family Martial Arts Center!

At USWC Tualatin, we teach WTF (Olympic) Taekwondo, Hapkido (Self-Defense), Weapons, Cardio & Conditioning Classes, and more!

We are interested not only in self defense skills, but also in the complete personal development of each student. Individual attention is a feature of each and every class, allowing our students to progress quickly and easily toward their personal goals. Our instructors take their responsibilities as role models for younger students seriously — teaching them the importance of strong character, leadership, and good values.

We teach our students that martial arts is a way of life. We expect them to act accordingly as a martial artist not only in class, but also at home and at school.

Taekwondo is not just for kids! We have many families who practice together — as well as students who start as teens or adults. Come join the fun & earn your Black Belt today!

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Master Oliveira started his martial arts career in his early teens. Originally studying for a number of years in both Shito-Ryu & Shotokan Karate styles, he one day drove past the original USWC-Tigard location. With a banner that read «Olympic Coach» — he knew at that moment he was destined to study Taekwondo and train for the Olympic Games.

Training under Chief Grandmaster JK Shin and his son, Chief Master Rick Shin — Master Oliveira studied rigorously, receiving his 1st degree black belt in 1996. With a passion for teaching, he has helped instruct at many USWC locations, opening his own school in 2008. Throughout his martial arts career, Master Oliveira has won numerous local, state, and regional championships (as well as training multiple National Champions). Leaving the competition scene in 1997 undefeated, he came out of retirement in 2011 to win the «Triple Crown» — winning the Gold in Forms, Board Breaking, and Sparring divisions.
