Great spot for members and card-carrying guests. Convenient to have the large toys available for hourly rental and a good restaurant/bar/snack shop with a range of food from salads to burgers etc. The shady spots up the hill provide a nice respite out of the sun. This Beach Club is a terrific perk of living in Tahoe Donner.(Members only so maybe the prior negative reviewer didn’t understand?) The beach front has sand, water, bathrooms, snacks, parking and more. Beautiful place to hang out and take in the views, go boating, kayaking, stand up boarding, etc. It is such a relaxing place with gorgeous views.

Great place. Definitely gets crowded on popular weekends when everybody and their mother wants to go to the lake, but it is hard to blame the beach club for being so popular. Could be a little more going on from a snack/beverage perspective but in general it has what you would expect. The rentals are great and there always seems to be something available when we want it. Great place!

Prior reviewer has a vendetta against Tahoe Donner, or they’re really stupid. Maybe both. I’ve owned in Tahoe Donner for 10 years. Yes the fees are pretty high, if you can’t afford the fees what are you doing buying a $½-$ 1 million dollar vacation home? The marina/beach club is a great facility. When Donner lake is packed, its nice to go to the beach club. They rent water toys, you can launch your own boat, swimming areas, sand for kids, nice clean bathrooms and snack bar. So what if the parking lot gets filled up on weekends and you have to park a hundred yards outside. Of course they don’t want dogs in there, they’re adjacent to the State park where you can take the pooch.

It looked nice from the outside so we went in to enquire about rentals. We were promptly told by a girl in a booth that we could not go further until we paid to get in. I told her we wanted to ask about available watercraft and life jackets for the kids. We were then greeted by some teenage manager who gave us the riot act on policy. And, they don’t like dogs there either. We were hoping this place would be more laid back in the Summer. Its not. The big question is, are the teenagers they hire to work there a bunch of rude snobs or do they train them to act that way to their customers? I think its both.
