I tried to leave Truckee to head home to Oakland on a Monday night. Unfortunately, I realized I had a flat tire and had to stay that night and head to Stone’s Tires the next morning (per recommendation of a friend who is a local). I went in right when they opened at 7:30am and they already looked pretty busy. I explained to them that I was in a bit of a rush to get back to Oakland for work so they promptly checked out my car, took out a screw and patched my tire in a matter of 45 minutes and I was back on the road. They were all super sweet and patient with all customers. Amazing service through the entire process.
As an added bonus, they refused to take my money! I even tried to tip and they wouldn’t take anything! I have never EVER in my whole life (especially being a woman) walked away from an auto shop that didn’t at least charge me for their services (let alone attempt to take advantage of me!). Thank you so much Stone’s Country Tire & Automotive! You have renewed my faith in humanity and in mechanics. I wish you guys were closer to Oakland as I would seriously go to you for any of my car needs. I hope the people of Truckee and the Tahoe Area realize how incredibly amazing this place is!

The best customer service! We were heading back home the next day and I discovered a nail in my tire. They were really busy but Bob was able to fit me in between other customers. And he patched it for free! Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Stone’s!

Bob Stone has always been the best place around for tires, balancing, rotations and alignments. The service is over the top! Truly. I’ve been coming here for years for our tire needs. Prices are fair, I live in Reno and don’t even bother with the big city guys. Thanks Bob!

Stones is the BEST! Had a huge screw in my tire at 3:30 in the afternoon ! Busy time of the season and they fixed it while I waited! Hence why I won’t go to anyone else! YOU GUYS ROCK!

This place is SO helpful! I just brought my car in because I noticed that one of my tires was looking low. Kenny was so quick and helpful! He immediately took the tire off, checked it, and fixed the leak! I got in there and got it fixed so quick! They did it all for free too! I’m SO thankful for these guys!

Being as this is the time of year where every one is getting there winter tires installed. They were slammed with business. They were able to get new tires on my work truck in a very short amount of time. They were very helpful and courteous. Wish all businesses were like this.

I was camping at Webber Lake in the Sierra and my low tire pressure light came on. I drove in to Truckee and went to Stone’s, where everyone recommended I go. They waited on me immediately. The tire mechanic told me I had a nail in one tire and showed me a questionable patch in another tire. He fixed my problems and I was safely back on the road in ½ hour. The price was so reasonable and the customer service was awesome. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

Brought a new/​used truck in this morning for new tires, The size I needed was in stock. And they had me outfitted with four brand-​new tires at a very reasonable price in just over an hour.
Fantastic customer service as usual.
I have purchased six or seven sets of tires here in the last decade for multiple vehicles and I’m always pleased with the speed and quality of service. Prices are very competitive considering you don’t need to spend a whole afternoon in Reno waiting at a tire shop.
If possible you want to talk to Bob Stone or Travis Pribble. But everybody in there is helpful and knowledgeable.
If you have poor planning skills and decide to go get your winter tires installed the day after the first snow of the season, don’t get pissed off and leave a bad review because they are in a huge rush or can’t get you done same day.

The service at Stone’s is second to none. I drove in with a tire leak, and left with a repair and brake check at no charge with minimal wait.

Hands down the best! Bought my tires here a while back, had them installed while I ate donuts, drank coffee and watched T.V. Had 2 nails patched free of charge. These guys love cars and tires. My only go to place.

What a great find. I was here on vacation and noticed one of my tires had lost half of its pressure. I found Stones on Unilocal.I was in and out in 10 minutes. They removed a nail from my tire, patched the hole and I was on my way. Best of all, they didn’t charge me anything for the repair. The service was great and they even let me bring my dog inside while I waited. This place rocks!

These guys are truly one of the best businesses I have ever worked with. Bob, Travis, Kenny and the rest of the crew will bend over backwards to help you out when your in a bind. Even better they’re right here in Truckee saving you so much time when you think you might have to head down the hill. A person that loves Costco and their service is trilled to find a better local option.

Amazing customer service!
I went in with a flat tire, asking for a patch. Before going here I went to the 76 station and the guy said that he couldn’t fix it, and likely I would have to replace the tire.
Stone’s Counrty Tire fixed it and charged me just $ 10. Then for no charge, put my fixed tire back on my truck AND put my space back under the truck. The serviceman proceeded to check the pressure on all the other tires added some air and said «your all set».
I was thrilled with the price and the service they provided. Great shop!

These guys are awesome! Last night I ran over a screw Driving my girlfriends Mini Cooper… she has run flat tires too and many places will tell u that they can’t patch run-​flats so I was pretty worried to say the least… so I decided to called Stones and ask them about it and they said they were very experienced with run flat tires and would be happy to take a look. I drove down there today and they were somehow able to squeeze me into their already tight schedule… they told me it’ll be about an hour so I walked down the street to full belly deli and got breakfast… not even 30 min later, before I could even finish my breakfast burrito, I get a call saying that the car was patched and ready! Once I walked back down there and came into see what the damage was the guy at the counter said I was good to go… FREE OF CHARGE! Nobody else in Truckee is that nice and will do that for ya… I highly recommend choosing them over anywhere else for all ur tire/​break needs thanks again guys u rock! Namaste

My wife just took our car to Stone’s to switch our winter tires out for new ones. They gave us a very high quote, so we purchased some online and saved nearly $ 400, that was until we had them installed there. The installation was $ 100, due to the fact that they were «brand new tires bought elsewhere.» Had we hidden the fact that they were bought online, maybe the installation would have been $ 60 like it is when the tires are not new. My wife is not the kind to argue with customer service individuals, but I wish that she had. She likes to support local businesses and we had only heard great things about Stone’s, but $ 100 for a 45 minute job? We won’t be back and will be sure to let others know. Next time we will go down the street to Auto Doctor, or maybe even to the dealer who gave us a quote for cheaper.
