Trevarrow Ace Hardware

I am a big fan of this hardware store. My family has been going to this place for over 30 years and I plan to continue this tradition so long as I live in the area. What I love most about this place is the fact that it is not massive, but it large enough for me to get pretty much any tool, part or spray in about 5 minutes. Moreover, they have been in the community for so long that they have things that are common to the houses in the area. For example, I have a pitless sump pump that is manufactured by some small time business in Southfield and they sell replacements there. Also, the prices are very competitive with the Home Depots and Lowes in the area. Most importantly, I love the general vibe of this place. It is hard to explain, but this place just feels like it has more soul. If you live in Troy and need to fix, replace or exterminate anything, there is no need to go to one of the monster stores and deal with the crowds and massive aisle. Just go to Trevarrow Ace.

This is the definition of your neighborhood hardware store. They have everything you would ever need, and at reasonable prices too. Staff is courteous and helpful, the associates at the register get their job done in a professional and timely fashion. Honestly a much better alternative to your run-​of-​the-​mill Lowe’s or Home Depot. Definitely worth stopping in if you live in the area!

When I was in junior high and high school there was this girl who worked there. She was very cute. She had long curly blond hair. She was the kind of beautiful that a junior high kid hopes his friends don’t notice. As I come to find out, no such luck. Every dude I knew had a crush on this girl. She was a proper nineties girl.
I ended up going to high school with her. We both liked the band Alice in Chains. I use to fake race her down Stephenson. The kind of race where you’d pass cars up to about 55 mph, weaving in and out of lanes. I once came out of school to find fliers on every windshield in the parking lot. I went up to the closest grocery store and grabbed every flyer at the entrance. I then went back and put covered her windshield with them. She thought that was pretty funny…
This hardware store seems kinda pricey, but there are friendly people working there that are eager to help you and answer any questions you have. They probably have a proper answer.
So I guess you can go and get a better deal at home depot, or you can find an adolescent thrill and good quick easy advice at this place.

Great full-​service, neighborhood hardware store. Like Libby, I like the fact that it’s independently owned, and I’ve always found the folks here extremely helpful.
I’ve got a number of hardware stories closer to me, but I’ll often make the trip on out to Trevarrow because they seem to be far more likely to have what I need (specific furnace filters, cleaning supplies, grilling supplies). I use Trevarrow when I need to have keys copied, and I’ve also had excellent service from them when I’ve done things like had them make me replacement screens for my screen doors.

Remember the commercial where the logo was (or maybe still is) «Ace is the place with your helpful hardware man»? Well, it is certainly true at this Ace location.
The service people are very friendly and helpful here and you don’t need to wander all over looking for someone to help you find some gadget or another. I always happen to make a trip here when visiting town. It’s great to have a hardware store nearby to pick up something small instead of heading to the big chain stores. My mom needed pool shock and it was half the price (on sale) of others places. I also picked up some small items like all purpose sponges for washing my car for $ 0.99 each.
My mom also uses Trevarrow’s plumbing services. She has always been happy with their work and they show up when they say they are going to show up.
This independently owned store is the kind you want to support. They know the meaning of customer service.
