I had the pleasure of enjoyed their rum cakes at Bacon Fest in Long Island, NY. It was THE best rum cake, THE best cake I ever had. The residence of Troy and the surrounding towns are so lucky to have this bakery. Whoever hasn’t eaten their rum cake is missing out.
It is a family run business and they are the nicest people. Go to Goodway Gourmet!

I haven’t been inside the Troy bakery but I bought one of Goodway’s rum cakes when they came down to a market in Manhattan and I had no idea that just a few ingredients could be made to taste so amazing. Nothing artificial-​tasting at all — real rum, real cream, all the good stuff. The banana in particular is just mind-​blowing. They were generous with samples and a $ 10 cake feeds several people because it’s so rich. Love it. If they had a shop in New York City I’d eat this every day.

One the best rum cakes I’ve tasted. I encountered Goodway Gourmet at the 2014 Boston Jerkfest. They were giving out samples and I had to taste. They had a ripe banana rum cake, Caribbean rum cake and a Malibu rum cake. I tasted all three and it was really hard for me to just choose one to buy. In the end I chose the Caribbean rum cake it was just perfect. I also found out that I could buy them online and they will ship it. I can’t wait to order my next cake.

Encountered Goodway bakery goods at the Atlantic City Wine and Food festival.
Although they serve a variety of baked goods I tried their rum cake and instantly fell in love!
Super big hit at the AC food and wine— kudos to Goodway Gourmet, a family owned business that has been around for quite some time.
I definitely recommend their cakes, especially because it was always served with a smile.
