Culver’s commitment to using only the highest quality ingredients is owed to Craig’s father and Culver’s co-founder George Culver whose words still ring true today: «Never cheapen the product.» Since 1984, Culver’s has lived by that mantra, sourcing the best ingredients and preparing every item fresh to order for each of our guests.
History
Established in 1984.
In 1984 Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver’s in the family’s beloved hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin.
In a sense it was destiny.
The son of a cheesemaker and grandson of a Wisconsin farmer, George Culver spent the early part of his career inspecting and grading dairy farms for the Wisconsin Dairies Cooperative. While George was out calling on area dairy farms, Ruth Culver was home joyfully raising their three children, instilling in them the small-town, Midwest values she herself had come to know growing up in Sauk City.
In 1961, George and Ruth seized an opportunity to buy their first restaurant. With no formal training, only Ruth’s warm and gracious hospitality and George’s natural command of the kitchen, the two proved a great team. Culver’s of Troy was opened in 2004 by the Potts Family who continue to operate the local restaurant on a daily basis! We have learned a lot about customer service and the connections that we have made with our customers over the years have made lasting impressions on our lives! We look forward to our continual service to the Troy community and greatly appreciate our many guest who travel several miles to visit our restaurant each week! Culver’s Franchise has created a great opportunity for us to build on, but in the end, its the connections we make with each guest that brings us great satisfaction!
