Paesano’s Pizza

I really don’t like big pizza chains with their conveyor belt pizza, so this place is great. Classic, hand-​tossed and real oven-​baked with fresh ingredients. It’s the only pizza place I eat at when staying in Traverse City. If you are looking for a great tasting pizza, this is the place. They could update the décor but who cares, I’m here for the taste. It’s run by a family who really care about their customers. They thank you for coming in and ask about your experience on your way out. Never had a bad experience and I’ve been coming here annually for at least 12 years now. Wish I had one of these in south east Michigan. And during the summer you can eat on the back deck and watch the boats go by. It’s perfect for date night.

Went here for pizza tonight. The best pizza I’ve had like our hometown we like. The crust was very very good it was just the right thickness in my opinion and the toppings were terrific we had salami jalapenos and mushrooms on the traditional pizza very very good. Would definitely come back if ever in the area

incredible pizza. we ordered the spinach-​pesto in a deep dish. it was a little pricy, but it was a deep dish signature pizza so it was completely understandable. the hospitality was also incredibly accommodating and friendly. In all it was an awesome dining experience. the back deck also has a nice view of the river.

Tried «Traditional» style Pizza — not that good. Maybe their Chicago or «White» pizza styles are better? Anyways, I had ordered a half cheese, half sausage– ended up getting all sausage and paid for the extra topping. The pizza was messy with full sections of cheese missing, tomato sauce was bland, and the cheese was just ok. For this type of thinner crust, I’d try out a few other local shops. The Chicago looked pretty decent here, but did not try it — Paesano’s looked worth giving a second try.

Pizza was good for being local. Would recommend taking-​out. The restaurant done-​in area was super warm. We did sit on the patio outside but space is very limited and small

Well the food smelled good, was ok, but location was extremely filthy, extremely hot, and the staff looked lost unable to handle a crowd. I would definitely avoid this place at all costs, I’f I could give it 0 stars I would. You have been warned

Caked for delivery on a Sunday night. Was advised they normally do but not tonight. Too busy.

Always like to try local pizza when we are away from home My wife and I had a different opinion on this pizza I thought it was just ok but my wife said it was a good pie. She likes papa johns pizza and that is what I thought it was most like. Since I am not a fan of papa’s johns this pizza did not impress me. The bread sticks were good and they give you way more than you would think you would get when you ask for an order of bread sticks. People are very friendly.

We ordered the Chicago special and bread sticks that were recommended by other Unilocalers. This was a late dinner after arriving from a long drive up from the metro Detroit area.
The pizza was acceptable but not anything anyone in our party thought was great. Several people thought the pizza was short of sauce. The bread sticks were good and great for carb lovers, but not quite as good as crazy bread from another chain pizza place.
All in all the food was too expensive to recommend it. While good, I will keep looking for other local pizza places to have a higher quality product or we will resort to our favorite Michigan based deep dish chain pizza spot.

Very good, local pizza place. Service was odd (cashier let someone else go in front of us because he only had one item… but we only had one pizza?) and the prices were on the high side ($ 17 for a 2 topping 14″ and $ 6 for bread sticks), but nothing too bad for this area. Ham, pepperoni, green olives and mushroom toppings were good. Would certainly come back again.

The service is good, smily faces, and very welcoming. The pizza is ok, not the best and i think the problem was the cheese which is not very tasty. Large portions and not very pricy. Family friendly atmosphere

Hands down the best lunch combo and pepperoni pizza there is in Traverse City. Trust me it has been the same great taste for over 15 years for me.

Awesome ambience, but very bad pizza. Deep dish pineapple and ham was only 60% cooked. Will never go back!

Pretty good pie… Little pricey but still solid… Bread sticks good. Deep dish on the greasy side… Salad surprisingly good… Very good dressing… Personally I still prefer the pie at the blue tractor… And the sticks too…

Excellent tasting pizza. Small dining area. For dine I, you order and pay at the counter, then seat yourself. Kind of awkward? Maybe this is handled differently in the summer? Regardless, the pizza is excellent and worth any inconvenience. :)

Amazing pizza, even MORE AMAZING bread sticks. We have been here twice and it’s a must stop when we are in TC looking for a good comforting meal. This past time we ordered the BBQ chicken pizza and an order of bread sticks. The cheese to topping to sauce ratio was perfectly delightful and made me wish that we ordered the next size up. When I looked at the menu I was glad we didn’t, because I think it was $ 6.00 more (Ouch!).
Now the bread sticks, this is where it’s at. I don’t know what amazingness they put in their dough, but these are divine. I usually do not even go for bread sticks, I am always rooting to order the stuffed cheese bread, or any cheesy bread type combo when we order pizza. These bread sticks don’t even need cheese, they are just that good. First, Paesano’s gives you loads of breadsticks, this order is very generous, yet I still don’t want to share! Second, they are just so pillowy soft, I want to put my face in them. Third, they have just the right amount of seasoning on top that is like the icing on the cake.
I can’t wait until we come back here again!

My wife and I took the reviews from Unilocal to find a great pizza well we were on vacation in Traverse City. Both of us were disappointed with this place. The Chicago style might be great, but, traditional was bad! It was lacking cheese, and the crust was lesser than Pillsbury. The sauce is what both my wife and I missed. It tasted like straight up tomato sauce with no seasoning! My wife likes a lot of sauce, and ordered a side of it, and she could not find anything good with it! Pizza Hut is a much better taste and deal compared with this

There are a few places we’ve been here in TC that got 5 star ratings and were really disappointing to us, so when I saw that paesanos had a 4 star rating with 40 reviews, we were unsure.
So pleasantly surprised! The cozy atmosphere and ambiance alone was magnificent. Our pizza was 20 minutes but worth the wait. The fresh basil was amazing! We tried the margarita pizza — it was outstanding.
The view was awesome and the place was really cozy — great, casual, unique and rustic atmosphere. We will definitely be returning! Keep up the great work paesanos!

Very very good pizza! Also very good breadsticks. Every time I have come here I have never been disappointed. The good is always very good and if you’re picking an order up it’s never cold.
The service is also always very nice with the people working quickly and also being very friendly.
The deck on the river is also very nice and a fun place to sit.
