Magic on the Rocks

I have seen magician Ben Whiting’s shows three times around town — the New Year’s Eve show at the City Opera House and Magic on the Rocks twice at The Parlor. The shows are truly amazing. Whether it’s an up close card trick, a stunt involving sharp objects, or mind reading, Ben’s work continues to amaze me every time. The shows tend to be geared towards adults, but are also perfectly appropriate for kids. Beware: The mind reading part of the show is super creepy — HOW DOES HE DO IT? I’ve seen some other high-​end magicians in Chicago, and what seems to set Ben Whiting apart is his ability to draw in his audience and to make you feel like you are a part of the show. His shows are super fun, and the drinks at The Parlor are great. I highly recommend this show for a fun and intriguing night out!
