History
Established in 1967.
The Bead Experience began in 1967 when two sisters and their mother began selling handmade jewelry on Read Street in Baltimore. They soon expanded their business to include bell bottom jeans and became a mecca of hippie fashion on Park avenue and later moved to the Rotunda Mall in Hampden. In 2005 The Bead moved to the Shops at Kenilworth in Towson and added a third generation of customers. The Bead now sells contemporary clothing to a younger, trendier customer in addition to the looser timeless clothing they were known for.
