Now, taking this into consideration, South Moon Under is *not* a discount store. At all. It’s actually quite pricey. I’d equate it to the top floor of Nordstroms. I just happen to be particularly good at trolling the sale section early and often… and I almost never leave empty handed.
South Moon Under is constantly on trend and caries quality clothes from great brands you already love (Free People, Tracey Reese, Ella Moss), but you can also find more offbeat labels in the mix. The style always seems to revolve around that «rich hippie» look… you know – patchwork bags and faux-​fur vests at prices no self-​respecting ‘bohemian’ would ever actually pay… but what can I say besides… fashion!
Besides the clothes, SMU has a fantastic jewelry selection which ranges from very affordable to very not, a small housewares selection, and a minimal mens corner. These parts of the store are great for gifts, I always find something… Mom and Sis have both received funky crystal and leather bracelets from here this year.
Lastly, the staff has always been *very* helpful, energetic and attentive. On my most recent trip, the sales girls helped me with an overly obsessive pro-​con list about which Marc Jacobs bag to get: small black chain-​ridden motorcycle or large practical lavender lovely lady tote.

Trendy clothes, shoes, swimsuits, and accessories for women and men. This is my least favorite of the South Moon Under locations, but it is the closest/​most convenient for me. Try the Downtown Baltimore, Annapolis, or Harbor East stores if you’re in those areas!
What I LOVE:
— Great swimsuit selection, I always buy bikinis here!
— Recently renovated interior, the store seems much bigger than it used to be.
— Convenience: if I’m looking for a last-​minute outfit for a night out I can usually find something here… and I’m picky!
What I LOATHE:
— This obviously doesn’t apply to everyone who works here, but the sales assistants can be very snotty at the Kenilworth location (they’re much friendlier at the other stores). Some will eye you down like you’re about to shoplift, others will totally ignore you. That is until you drop a wad of cash. I know South Moon tries to push itself as a high-​end designer boutique but it really just sells what are mainly overpriced mid-​grade clothes, so please get over yourselves.
— The jewelry breaks. I’ve never had a problem returning it though.
