My husband and I went into the bar and sat at the high tops and after waiting 15min with Neither of the bartenders acknowledging us, we got up and asked for a menu. 10 more minutes go by and still no one comes over. Then another couple comes in, sits at the high top next to us and over walks a bartender with menus for them and asks if they’d like something to drink(still ignoring us)!!! We were so disgusted that we got up and walked out.

I have been a big fan of Dos Amigos for years, but am just now finally getting around to writing a review. The food here is amazing and affordable. I had vegetarians in my party, and there were plenty of options for everyone to choose from! The food comes out quickly, and the service is friendly as well. We will be back soon!

Love the food here! I always get the fajitas, they come out quick and still sizzling. Great home made salsa and chips.

Service is delightfully friendly! Food comes in enormous, gut-busting portions… expect leftovers. This is great for a night out; it’s loud, bustling, always busy and full. Parking can be a problem at times, since the lot is small. Though, it’s always a good sign when the parking lot is busting from its seams… it’s a popular place! Definitely not the best Mexican restaurant around, but its atmosphere is one you can’t beat. If you’re nearby, I highly suggest it.

After slipping in food quality a while back, it seems they’ve recovered. The last time I ate here there was a definite increase in the quality of food. The salsa usually tastes different each time, but I always like it. Their servers change often, but they seem to have them trained well enough that I’ve always experienced consistent attentive service.

While staying outside of Winsted we visited this place to get our Mexican fix. We liked it so much, we came twice during the week we were in town. My only complaint with this place is that both the salsa(free) and the queso dip(not free) lacked much flavor… I wish they could spice these up a bit. Our lunches, however, were very good. Portions are big, although the prices are a little on the high side. Pro Tip: Ask for a lunch menu with the a la carte items. The first time we didn’t get the menu and our bill was twice as high as the second time when we could order lunch-sized portions.

Been to MANY Mexican restaurants and this place holds up pretty good! Guacamole was very good and seasoned just right. Salsa is just right with a nice kick. Enchilada and tamale combo was fresh, hot and tasty. My husband enjoyed his steak tacos… only complaint? No fish tacos :(. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous. Overall a good experience and a great value if you’re looking for no frills and good food.

Dos’ dining room was busy when we arrived, but we were seated promptly. Service was great, despite the crowd. Salsa was excellent. The cheese dip was yellow queso and a little too spicy for me. Chips weren’t the house made kind that I usually enjoy at Mexican joints, but they were an okay way to get the stuff into your mouth. Been hearing rave reviews of the shrimp quesadilla grande, and it came out to my friend looking tasty, so I’ll have to head back and give it a shot sometime. The remaining two of us got fajita combos — steak and pork for me, steak and chicken for him. Fajitas come with your choice of three of the following: rice, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce topped with pico de gallo. I had the rice, beans and sour cream. The rice was generic and lackluster, which is one of the things that brings this review down to 3 instead of 4 stars. The beans were beans, nothing special there. Sour cream actually had what I think was white pepper in it, crema fresca style I guess? For the price($ 15.95) I think they could include all of the above sides with the fajitas, like most other restaurants. The meat and veg in the fajita platters were excellent, and the sauce they were cooked in was incredibly delicious. Happy hour specials looked enticing, so we’ll probably check out the bar next time. I read in the drink menu that they make their margaritas by the gallon to keep up with«demand». I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not.

Some of the worst Mexican i have had. Ordered the enchilada roja. Was awful. The tortia was soaked in grease from the really spicy, greasy beef, that was the only thing wrapped in there btw. Refried beans were dull tasting, just like the guacamole. Returned that dish and ordered the sampler dish that was the same contents rearranged. No signs of any vegetable anywhere! Seems like there Is only four ingredients in the dishes, meat, tortia/chips, and refried beans w Cheese. Service sucked, no one checked in on me, always had to ask for service. Also runners did not know who to bring the food to.

Another disgusting mexican restaurant in ttown. The bars gotta be the only thing keeping them in business. food was oily, just sucked. table and silverware were dirty. I wouldn’t sit in the bar and get hammered knowing there’s nasty ass food like that close by! NOTHANKS!

It’s a Mexican restaurant in Torrington, CT. What do you expect? It all tastes the same, oily, greasy, bland. The chips and salsa were good but that’s about it, food-wise. I do have to say, our waitress was incredible. She was really nice and attentive even though she was the ONLY waitress in the entire restaurant for Sunday evening service. Kind of shocked on that. Anyway, she was terrific.

My husband and I decided to try this place out since I have a ridiculous love for Mexican food and because they were just opened. We live around the corner so why not! I ordered a margarita and guacamole to start and while neither were anything to write home about there was nothing wrong with them. I had their beef and cheese enchilada plate for the main and while the beef was good the cheese was just a bit rubbery and too much(even coming from someone who loves cheese on everything) and I couldn’t finish that one. The sides were standard Mexican restaurant food, again, good but not amazing. The service was a bit dodgy but they have just opened so that might just be them getting into the swing of things. I will certainly give it one more try in the future.

Everything said in my last review still stands — but I have been going more frequently as of late for drinking rather than dining — and the margaritas here are awesome. Plus they have really cheap Patron shots.

Been here several times. Food is always hot. More like commercial Mexican, but if you need a Mexican fix this place should do the trick. May not have rated as high if in a city like Vegas, but for the area, this place is definitely a 4 star for food quality and service. The service… awesome. They are friendly, fast, and know the locals by name. Margaritas are awesome here, so if you drink give them a try. Will also combine the flavors if you request… we tried mango banana and liked them a lot. Also, the clams appetizer is very good. Do yourself a favor, and order one per person… you more than likely won’t want to share. My husband’s had the tacos twice and will probably continue to order them when we eat up that way. I like the pulled chix chimi… and it’s enough to share so bring a friend! I’ve also seen the taco salad which I was told was good(and a huge portion) and all other food looked good and were generous portions.
