History

Established in 1968.

Dr. Wertheimer has been in practice in the South Bay community since 1968. He is a Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Surgery and also a Diplomate, American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.

Having been in practice over 40 years means Dr. Wertheimer uses both experience and, with continuous attendance at educational meetings, assures his patients of receiving the best and most modern treatments available for their foot and ankle problems. Ingrown nails, fungus, digital deformities, bunions, heel pain, plantar fascitis and other foot ailments are all commonly treated problems. Dr. Wertheimer has developed his own method using Bleomycin in the treatment of warts. Patients that have been treated and have not responded to laser, excision, Silver Nitrate, curettage, etc. seem to respond to his technique and use of this amazing medication. His office goal is to offer evaluations and give the same treatment to his patients as he would to his own family member

Medical Education

Dr. Wertheimer took his undergraduate studies at Wilkes University in Wilkes-​Barre, Pennsylvania. He attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated in 1964. Following a one year residency at St. Luke’s Medical and Children’s Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he spent three years as a Captain and a Podiatrist in the U.S. Army from 1965 – 1968. After completing his military obligation, he opened his private office in 1968 in the Torrance community and has been here since.
