I have a son that has apraxia, autism and ADD that has worked with Andrea Trow for eight years. When he first started working with Andrea, he was using sign language and two word utterances; and now dare I say, he won’t quiet down:)
From the beginning, Andrea established a bond that allowed my son to trust her and he was very motivated to succeed. Using a visual program, he and Andrea created beautiful stories. Although she gave him strong guidance, he let her know he was in charge of the creative outcome. He now writes stories on his own and is learning computer animation to bring them alive.
I have seen Andrea first hand get a child with autism to talk when before he had only spoken to his parents. I was fascinated as she slowly worked her way closer and closer to him until finally they were playing a game together. She made it look so easy, yet I knew it was years of experience and true compassion at work.
One of the most important skills Andrea possesses is her ability to handle the behaviors of the autistic population. Many experts claim to target this community, and although they have training in wonderful programs, they cannot handle the behaviors autistic children present. Sadly the child is often blamed for the lack of success. Andrea does not need behavioral assistance. She is able to motivate, hold a child’s attention and reinforce positive behavior with praise and mutual appreciation for the successes along the way.
She is an excellent therapist and teacher and enjoys her students as much as they enjoy her.

Andrea is by far the best therapist we have used. Besides working on our daughters speech, she has taught our daughter to read.
Andrea knows how to get my daughter to focus, she makes sure that each session is a productive one. Andrea does not accept the status quo and has pushed my daughter to accomplish goals that others did not feel she was capable.
In addition to hearing my daughters speech & reading improve, the most gratifying improvement is my daughters self confidence. The statement «I Can’t» is no longer part of her vocabulary.
Andrea works in collaborative matter with me and my daughter’s other providers. She is not afraid to speak out and advocate. Her only interest is helping your child.
