Torrance City Farmers Market

Definitely one of the smallest farmer’s markets I’ve been to but I think it’s a great source of fresh vegetables for locals so why the heck not! They have some great food vendors come out too so it’s a great place to enjoy lunch!

Since moving back to LA, I’ve been on the hunt for a good farmers market. After all the rave reviews, I’m decided to check this place out and I’m glad I did!
This place is one of the bigger farmers markets I’ve been too. There’s so much variety– from produce and fruit to baked goodies. Some things that caught my interest: raw milk, a really really really long line for eggs, «gourmet» korean food, nut butters, nuts, dried fruit… you can find fresh herbs to plant, flowers, milk, fruit, veggies, dessert (bundt cake, apple crumble, pie, kettle corn), freshly squeezed juices, and cooked food :) In fact, there’s a food court type thing in the back. You can easily spend a couple of hours here– it’s that big and there’s that much stuff!
In terms of food in the back, they had thai, hawaiian, mexican (tacos), potato twisters, japanese rice balls, bbq, and more.
I think i’m going to come out here a couple of times a month :)

I would totally cheer and support our local farmer’s market:
If the lines moved quicker to buy eggs. instead of one or two how about 3 ppl serving a line of 10 ppl. Just saying. I’m afraid to roll my eyes or show my frustrations. what if they refused to sell me eggs like the soup nazi did to Elaine?
If they would stop hiding the bad strawberries on bottom of the baskets.
If the pupusa lady would be a lil’ more generous with giving out more than just 1 fork, and 1 ply of napkins. when I order 3 or more pupusas,.every week. I’m tired of asking for sauces and utencils. every week.

Save a trip to Fullerton by coming down to the Torrance Farmers Market aka Wilson Park to get some cakes from Dolce Monachelli’s.
Chris the owner uses his grandmother’s recipe and the cakes are super moist. He also ships out cakes if you want to send someone a yummy cake.
Parking is plentiful and they have additional parking at the church next to the park.
Bring plenty of cash because you will see something you will want. You don’t want to come me home empty handed.

I’m happy to say that since I medically registered my pug Iz I received no hassle from anybody here at the famers market. I was questioned by several administration personal but showed my medical dog registration which I have on my phone and was cleared immediately. Parking is painless and admission is free.
I heart the selection of fresh organic certified veggies such as bell peppers, asparagus, persimmons, tomatoes, whole wheat crackers, almond butter and the variety of baked pastries and even bundt cakes.
I plan on visiting additional farmer markets in So Cal. in the future but would recommend this market highly. I heart hiking at Central park which is steps away — shop, cool down and browse in the open air market.

2015 is Certified Torrance Farmer’s Market 30^th year and is located in the Wilson Park parking lot which is off of Crenshaw Blvd between Carson and Sepulveda. When I moved to Torrance from Santa Monica 15 years ago I really missed the 2^nd street market so I started going to the Torrance Market. Back then there was just one limited organic stand, but now there are about half a dozen.
In addition to produce, there are booths that sell fresh seafood, Bison, eggs, cheese, raw milk, chicken and baked goods. So the Torrance Farmers Market is like your one stop shop so you really don’t need to go to the supermarket and buy that GMO produce. I like to shop the market since it is close by and I know the veggies were just picked the day before rather than being shipped in from Arizona or Northern California, and it makes me feel good about supporting local farmers.
So two thirds of the Market is farmed goods and then there are prepared food vendors on one side where you can get Thai, Mexican, Peruvian, Salvadorean, and Indian food as well as BBQ, Sausages, and big ass breakfast burritos, that you can enjoy under tents while listening to buskers playing live music. I like the Elvis impersonator.
You can also get fresh cut flowers that are nicer and cheaper than at Trader Joes and way better than at the supermarket.
This is a great place to bring your kids, but you are not allowed to bring your doggies into the market as it is subject to LA County Health Department rules.
I recommend getting there early since the parking is shared with the Wilson Park community center and when softball and volleyball seasons are going off you might have to park a few blocks away.

I shop here all the time! Excellent place to get good quality food that’s real! Need I say more?

I used to work across the street and loved to come to this farmers market. They were open on Tuesdays and Saturdays not sure if they still are on Tuesdays. The food is very good the teriyaki, BBQ, kettle corn, and my absolute favorite and the only thing I purchased today was the tamales, muy delicioso! They have ample parking and a nice amount of vendors of fruits, vegetables, and lots of sweets. However the customer service of some of their particular vegetable vendors has brought me back to the realization of why I am glad I do not work in Torrance anymore. In addition to their fruits and veggies being overpriced I will stick to the Hollywood and The Grove’s farmers market, always a smiling face and always people that appreciate your business.

My family and I love this farmer’s market. This farmer’s market is open every Saturday and it is HUGE. There is a large offering of fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, flowers, nuts, baked goods, ethnic goods, etc… There is also a large section for food services that make and sell food right on the spot — from hot dogs to crepes, there is a lot of variety. I have tried the bbq corn, the potato sticks and the crepes. They have all been tasty, though probably not super healthy. There are tables and chairs set up under a tenant to enjoy the yummy food.
The setting of the farmer’s market is also very nice. It is in Wilson park and there is a lot of shade provided by the trees. It does get crowded but it’s never unbearable. The sellers are very friendly and the samples are super generous. My kids and husband always leave stuffed and with lots of good products.
Another good thing about this farmer’s market (especially if you have kids) is that there is a huge grassy area for them to run in, a pond feature to visit, two playground equipment and on the 3^rd Saturday of the month, free train rides through So Cal Live Steamers (located at the opposite end of the park).

This past weekend I went to the Torrance farmers market for the first time. I’ve lived in Torrance for about a year now and have never made it here until now for some reason. I went around 11 and it was super crowded but I was able to find parking quickly. They have a few signs pointing at different parking options.
We walked in and it was so amazing! There were so many vendors all selling all different types of beautiful, fresh fruits and vegetables. Almost all booths let you sample their produce so you know what you’re buying. Everything was so yummy! I came away with my haul of pluots, Asian pears, Fuji apples, peaches and strawberries. There were a few specialty vendors selling fish, organic peanut butter, super buttery cake, and so much more.
There was also a good sized hot food area where I had a pork and cheese pupusa and my friend got a homemade beef tamale. The food was tasty but my favorite thing was the peach juice from the pupusa vendor. It wasn’t too sweet but still had a lot of different flavors going on. We were looking for the poke booth and sadly by the time we found them they sold out! :(just gotta go earlier this week: D The sitting area was really crowded so we stood to eat while listening to the live music.

I love this farmers market! It’s not as big as some but there is enough variety to get what you need. Lately I’ve been obsessed with stone fruits and figs! The last batch I picked up were fresh and so sweet. Aside from farmed fresh fruits and vegetables, they also have food vendors, flowers and other dessert/​condiment vendors.
Okay, so what puts the organic cherry on top of the Torrance Farmers Market? It’s location. I like how it sits on the Wilson Park parking lot because then you can fit a quick run session or just stroll around the park a couple times. Eating healthy and living and active life go hand in hand :)

Open only on Saturday. A lot of local farmers and eateries set up stands here. I got a huge cocktail fruit drink for only 3 bucks, and the chicken on skew for another 3 bucks, and it was pretty good. Also tried the Poke bowl for 10 bucks, it was alright, mainly because we had better Poke. (Ono Seafood at Oahu)
Overall this place is fun to check out if you want to walk around.

My wallet is in danger of losing all my money at this terrific Farmer’s Market. There’s lots of variety of goods and you can pretty much eat your day’s worth of fresh fruits serving here since a majority of the stands provide free and plentiful samples. Bring cash and a recyclable grocery bag to carry all your goods. Some vendors do take CC. Don’t be afraid to ask for samples! Hanging out here is almost better than going to Costco for their samples :)

Our haul: hummus & pita chips from Mom’s (3 for $ 12 + $ 4 for a bag of pita chips — I highly recommend the tomato and garlic dip), awesome orange/​pomegranate fresh juice and juicy peaches for $ 3/​lb.
Parking: Easy… if you are willing to walk. We parked towards the end of Wilson Park and there was plenty of parking around 10am. I would even recommend avoiding the main entrance and enter through Washington/​Plaza Del Amo/​Arlington instead. If you still would prefer to enter via Jefferson/​Crenshaw, you can also park in the church lot across the park.

Amazing farmers market! While they have a lot of prepared meals at food stands on the east side of the market, my favorite stands are the flowering, vegetable and herb plants! I can’t wait to buy some planter boxes and start my garden off with these wonderful plants.
There are a wide variety of vendors– I tried a Mediterranean tent that had incredible feta cheese, olives and other delicious ingredients. From balsamics and olive oils to fresh fruits and veggies, this place is a mecca for foodies and those wishing to support small businesses.
FYI– parking is difficult — do yourself a favor and take an early morning run to the farmers market like I do.

I have been coming to this farmers for years and am always drawn in by the aroma of the food and kettle corn! They have a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers (that I think are sometimes even cheaper than flower shops or grocery stores), baked goods (delicious quiche and pastries), cheeses, fresh goat milk, honey, and other random organic goodies that you can enjoy! I also love that we can sample everything before purchasing, so I’ll try a lot of places before buying anything. Price wise they are all very similar in comparison, so you aren’t going to find one place that is much cheaper than the next. I know this farmer’s market isn’t as big as others, but it has everything you need. I love the convenience of it and how we can drop by on a Tuesday or Saturday morning with the family or friends to start your morning off right!

I like this one around as much as the one in Hollywood. Key differences = smaller (although still a large farmers market), less people, better parking, way closer to home. Plus, you eventually reach the point of diminishing returns with repetitive stands in a sprawling farmers market.
Along with some excellent produce, there are also restaurant stands, bakery stands, and some form of live music.
Parking is not difficult and FREE! It will take less than a few minutes to find a spot.
This is definitely the best farmers market choice around the South Bay.

First time going to this farmer’s market and was impressed with variety of vendors (fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, pastries, etc…) and food stands. Thought most vendors had good price for their produce but few were asking too much (a cup of squeezed blood orange juice for $ 6.00?!).
* Fruits and vegetables were fresh as many reviewers mentioned. Definitely enjoyed fruit samples! Yum~
* Food was delicious: I had a savory crêpe and husband had tacos. We shared fresh lemonade juice.
* It was crowded around 10am on a Saturday but nothing that we couldn’t manage.
* Parking was not as bad as some reviewers have mentioned.
* Would I go back? Oh yes, and can’t wait to go back to try other food!

While farmers markets in the midwest host great corn, and fall veggies, it cannot match the fruit selection in Southern California. There are dozens of vendors here, all selling amazing looking fruits and veggies. The best part is that they all offer many many samples. You can fill up just browsing the different tents and their fruit is ten fold better than anything I can get in Omaha. One vendor was sampling whole strawberries and my sister and I each took one to try. She stated it was «ok» while I thought it was amazing. She told me, «you get spoiled when you live here». Thats no joke. The gold nuggets and all the citrus fruits are a must. Californians-​appreciate the fruit you have. We out of staters are very jealous.
I love the mexican influence here for the prepared foods, I can never leave the farmers market without a jumbo sized mexican lemonade/​drink and some snacks like tamales or tacos.
Overall an amazing year round farmers market. Worth a stop if you’re a visitor, or if you live around there and haven’t been, you need to get there!

I have not been to this Farmer’s Market in about a year. Manhattan Beach FM is my usual go to place. We had a blast today!
There were so many samples. My 2 year old was going crazy with delight. The vendors were so kind to him and handed him samples directly.
I bought a bunch of veggies, Korean food, and fruits. When I went to purchase a single orange, the lady running the stand insisted I take it as a gift =). I was so impressed with how kind everyone is.
Highlights for us: beets, strawberries, Korean food, Afghani bread and spread place, the nut butter stand, orange lady, the orange juice stand, and the toffee place.
This is definitely worth a bit of a drive, especially if you make it a point to enjoy Wilson Park. We spent the entire morning here, and my son was crying when we had to leave.

This Farmer’s market has it all. Located at Wilson Park this place is definitely the place to be on a Saturday morning. They have vendor from all parts of Southern California.

— Located at a very large parking with many activities (Softball fields, basketball courts, Roller hockey rink, tennis courts, BBQ areas, batting cage and more)
