Description

Specialties

Come sample our summer variety of top quality produce brought in each week direct from 60 California farms. The market features a year-round selection of California grown fruits, nuts, vegetables, eggs, honey, baked goods, fish, cut flowers and nursery stock.

History

Established in 1985.

The tuesday Market was a dream come true for Mayor Katy Geissert. 27 years later the market is still doing great. We are so thankful for the Mayor insisting that Torrance have their own Farmers’ Market. In 1992, the city of Torrance opened a second market on a saturday and we soon realized that the market was a winner. Both markets offer fresh produce from all over the state of California. We offer many different types of hot food and pre-packaged foods. Come and check us out and let us know if you agree. The market is a community meeting place with great produce, wonderful food and happy music.

Meet the Manager

Mary Lou W.

Manager

Mary Lou has managed the two markets for over 22 years. She has a great love for Farmers’ Markets and all the farmers who toil day in and day out to supply the city of Torrance Farmers’ Markets with fresh produce. Her background lends itself to her job as she grew up on a farm in Ohio. She understand the work involved and long hours to get crops to grow and then be able to sell them. Watching the farm children grow up and continue to be involved in farming is heartwarming. Working with senior vounteers at her markets keeps her young. Her assistants Renee and Ed are a tremendous help in keeping the markets running smoothly.
