What to say, what to say? I have to agree with all who have reviewed Weaves by Maryam/A+ weave Services/Grade A Weaves, etc. Who knew she also called it Infallible Styles? FIRSTTIME: Found her ad on Craig’s List in a bind. She was able to do my hair the next day. When I arrived I had to wait approximately an hour for her to finish another head. While I waited, I killed a roach, was happy I’d left my purse at home, and swiftly picked up my hair bag to sit cautiously on her sofa. I watched her do a marevlous job on the young lady in the chair and confidently went in for mine. She braids zig-zag, which is excellent(for those who know what I mean), not too tight, and styles appropriately. $ 60. Cool. I referred her to my friends. Each one of them stated she either got back to them via text only, or not at all. SECONDTIME: After a week of texting back and forth, I scheduled an appointment. She was ready and waiting. Fifteen minutes early, she was texting me to make sure I was on my way. While I was there, she played NetFlix, while working on my hair. I was almost done in under 2 hours when she got a headache. Whether it was her trying to discipline her daughter too many times, work something out with her boyfriend as he left, or just gets massive headaches in general, it incompacitated her for a bit. I couldn’t go out half-headed, so I waited and prayed for her. I even felt bad enough(from the boyfriend conversation) to tip her. $ 80. Still cool. THIRDTIME: I scheduled an appointment a week out. We confirmed via text the day prior. SHEFLAKED. I was at her house, knocking on her door, to no answer. She didn’t answer the phone, or the texts. I won’t go back, because as we know, that type of unprofessionalism can’t be tolerated. She does good hair, just doesn’t give good services.

I went to Maryam twice for weaves. She braids a bit too tight at times, she has a filthy house and her and her child’s father continually have personal conversation and sometimes arguments in front of clients. They both also loudly discipline the little girl for simply being an active child who’s stuck in the house with a ton of energy… go figure! She has never canceled on me and she was always relatively fast working. She does not cut or style your hair aside from face framing layers and curling or straightening. I asked her to please layer my hair so it was not flat in the back(willing to pay more of course) this last time I was there and she quickly said I don’t do that. She does play movies while you get your hair done or some type of lively TV. program. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. I went to her when I was in a pinch and I might recommend her with caution.

Beware! Do not, I repeat DONOT waste your time!!! I had scheduled an appointment with Maryam(Even though I shouldve learned from my first experience with her-she never answered the phone on the scheduled date) because she was cheaper than all other shop braiders in the area. I called the night before and advised her that it was pertinent that I got my hair done the next day since I would be flying out of town on a business trip. She advised me that it would not be a problem and she apologized for the first time. I showed up to her filthy apt. the following day to be greeted by a male in her home stating that she would not be able to do my hair due to being sick with a tooth ache. If you looked up UNPROFESSIONAL in the dictionary, you’d see a picture of Maryam with her raggedy apt. as a background.

I have been to Maryam twice now because she does high quality work at affordable prices. People always ask me for recommendations and I have no problem telling them that Maryam is one of the best out there for weaves!
