Love this shop! Although, I am having very deep guilt, I found out the store is closing down. I feel like I haven’t spent enough over the years (although I’ve spent PLENTY!) to keep them open.
Their motto is, «If we don’t have it, you don’t need it!». And, it couldn’t be more true. I have never failed to find what I’m looking for. Cookin’ Stuff has saved me many miles of shoe leather AND gasoline whenever I’ve been searching for obscure cooking or baking supplies. Plus, I always manage to find all kinds of gadgets that I didn’t even know I needed!
They used to be in a HUGE location on Sepulveda, and then downsized to a smaller spot, farther away, but still on Sepulveda. I still shopped there, and even brought my family to browse when they were visiting from the Midwest. They loved it too, and bought some really cool items…
I hope their website stays open.

Sad that this store is closing. 15% off almost everything. Thanks Cookin Stuff team for 40 plus years of service. I got the «cookin» fever because of their store on PV Blvd, I’d comb the shop for gadgets and bowls and special knives. Always loved their selection of pastry boxes, paper doilies, parchment. And I can’t count the number of gifts I purchased for friends and family. Farewell CS.

I moved in across the street, and was so excited to check out Cookin Stuff. SUCH A GREAT STORE! Great selection of cool gadgets. I love to support local businesses and Cookin Stuff has quality items, vs’ big box stores.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. My mom and I (African American) stopped in on a whim because we love kitchen gadgets. However, upon entering we weren’t greeted but attributed it to the fact that the woman was ringing up a customer. As we looked around for at least 10 minutes she and I observed that we still hadn’t been greeted even though the new customer that walked in (who happened to be the same ethnicity as the woman working there/​owner) received a very enthusiastic greeting. Upon bringing it to the woman’s attention I was told «Thank you for telling me.» Not an apology or anything to make amends. Hate to make it about race but… if it looks like a duck and talks like a duck. Not happy that we still live in a society where this occurs.

Well, I’ve shopped at cooking stuff for some time. I started at their old location. I’ve been to the new location and every time I go in there I spend money! Well, these last 2 times I must say I have been super disappointed with the customer service. The cashier behind the counter made us feel unwelcome. We stopped by to get measuring spoons… While my husband looked at that stuff I went to the restroom then continued to look around. I picked up a bread pan as well during my wandering of the aisles (not what I went in for) my son then needed to use the restroom. I told him where it was he came back and said its locked. I thought sure enough someone must be inside, nope apparently the cashier thought we were just using the restroom not actual paying customers. Oblivious as I was my husband went to check out but prior to that the cashier looked over at us standing waiting by the restroom and said «you need help with something!» My husband said no, do we check out here… She was not friendly or nice. I asked if the bathrooms were being used or cleaned since they were locked she said «no! Bathrooms are for customers only!» Lucky for her my husband had already paid otherwise we could’ve taken our business else where. Not the first time lack of customer service exists which is why I’m posting this. I am a local girl that enjoys supporting local small business but when one gets this kind of service or is made to feel unwelcome as this cashier did us then is no wonder people don’t return. I will not be returning here there’s other stores that offer the same stuff for comparable pricing. Thanks but no thanks! It’s truly too bad.

Love this place. So many gadgets will get you wanting to cook/​bake.
The ladies who work here are very helpful in making sure you take home what you need for your cooking/​baking. The ladies are so pleasent to talk to and are very patient and hear you out on what you are trying to make.
I bake cakes and come here for the boxes. They have amazing prices on all boxes and boards. And are always stocked on all the food coloring I need.
I’ve also bought a few other items and gadgets I use in my kitchen.
Get on their email list!!! They will send you a list of current classes to sign up for. As well as discount days or coupons. Totally recommend this place to shop!

A very cute kitchen store filled with neat gizmos and gadgets to make the kitchen less work and more play. They have all your basic kitchen essentials plus new inventive tools and adorable kitchen décor. The staff is extremely pleasant and they greet you with little treats made that morning with ingredients from their own gardens. They have a full kitchen in the store and even hold cooking classes on weekends. Prices are a little higher than most stores, but their products look and feel like higher quality so perhaps in the long run you end up saving more money with this store and, not to mention, also have an adorable kitchen for your friends and family to fawn over.

Excellent selection of a variety of baking and cooking needs. Reasonable prices (not discount, but not inflated, either).

I’ve come here a couple times to buy some baking supplies but most recently I came here because the zester/​grater I bought was too fine to zest any grapefruit just ended up squeezing out the juice of the peel. So out of laziness I came here instead of going back to target and glad I did. First, greater selection and options. Second, cheaper. And lastly, they’re currently having a dice sale? Basically go to pay, you roll the dice and have a chance of rolling up to 12% off. Lucky me I got the 12% off! But also its about supporting the smaller local stores :)

I love this store! They have a great selections of all kinds of great gadgets. The staff is knowledgable and helps me find what I’m looking for or helps answer my questions regarding whatever my most recent project is. I love shopping locally.

Such a great little local business. This store pretty much has everything you could ever need to cook, bake or bbq. Very helpful staff. If you’re into Christmas cookies, they have soooooo many cookie cutters its unreal! A perfect alternative to shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond or Target… And prices are comparable.

I have driven by this store so many times. Recently I finally checked it out. It’s like a candy store for a baking newbie like me. I was greeted when I walked in and offered if I needed help to find anything. Their staff was friendly. I felt much more welcomed compared to my experience at Sur La Table. This is going to be my go to place!

I wasn’t impressed with Cookin Stuff. I guess I was expecting products that more experienced or serious chefs and bakers use… you know the secret tools that turns your regular ho hum food into impressive works of art. Honestly, I think almost everything in the store can be found at BBB. The prices are not a reason to come here over BBB either.

They have a wide selection of items and have shopped here on occasion. I thought I’d give their knife sharpening service a try. I saw very little difference from when I brought them in. I took one knife back a few weeks later. (My fault for not taking it back right away but I didn’t have the time.) I no longer had the receipt but mentioned I had brought it in a few weeks earlier. I wasn’t offered a free sharpening (nor did I ask for one). All she asked was who sharpened it the first time. Needless to say, I won’t be going back for their knife sharpening. The second time wasn’t much better than the first.
I agree with some other reviewers on their customer service. I’ve never felt welcome shopping there. … And yes, forget it if you have any type of coupon! You’re a second class citizen.

This store you must visit if you love to cook. A foodie paradise. So many pots, pans, juicers, timers, mixers… everything you need to free your inner chef. l bought a chocolate design kit as a gift and the recipient loved it. They have specialty items that you did not even know existed. Great candy making and cake decorating supplies. Well chosen cook books are full of inspiration. The staff is 100% Foodie, they know so much and freely share their knowledge. A store for people passionate about food. Be sure to check out the classes. Each class is taught by peope who are enthusiastic about the topic. Expand your knowledge and have fun.

Amazing place!!! Felt super at home. I love it how Betsy was straight to the point and asked what we wanted. She didn’t try to sell as something else more. Can’t wait to come back for more!

This is a nice specialty store with lots of random cooking gear. The only minus is the price. I think they have to inflate the prices to pay the rent because I can’t imagine this place is crowded ²⁴⁄₇. I was looking for a deep fryer that wasn’t too big. They had two or three different models but they were all way too expensive. I did take a quick look around and it looks like they have a lot of nice cookware. I’ll come back to browse a bit more.

Looking for ice cube trays. Seem easy but no. None at Target, or Walmart, had some at K mart if I wanted to spend $ 11.99 each.
Found some nice ones here for a real good price. Could of save me a lot of time if I just came here first.

I love Cookin Stuff! I’ve been shopping here for about three years now. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed them yet!
I want to start baking my own bread. I needed a scale, bread lame, loaf pans, etc. Their prices were pretty average. I bought an Oxo digital scale and it was the same price at Target. They carry a good variety of cake/​candy molds and always have seasonal shapes along with sprinkles and other decorations to go with them!
I love Cookin Stuff because it’s nicely organized and the staff is experienced. I couldn’t find a lame (two-​sided razor you use to slash dough just before baking) so I asked one of the employees. She knew exactly what I was talking about, but they no longer had them on display. Another employee overheard us and ran over to the knife area. He explained that they only had a few left and knew exactly where they had been stored.
Their prices are pretty average and are mostly comparable to Target or Michael’s. Sure, other stores offer coupons, but I’d rather support an independent store. Shop local!
