Shabby, underdog shop. With so many businesses closing this past decade,(your neighbor floral shop) Im just honestly glad you are still alive lol. From what I recall, Cookies & Cream, along with strawberry banana were legit. Dont know if they changed it but they had a cool wall of polaroid pictures of customers, which I thought was pretty neato. In regards to just boba, I am sure you can find better places, but Boba Zone is one of the older established boba shops in the area, and that speaks testament to something. For anyone that has never had boba or asian tea, this is not a bad place to start.

If i’d read these reviews prior to going, I would’ve missed out on some good boba! True the person working there(owner?) wasn’t overly friendly but she’s the only one operating this place and with what I can only imagine as unpredictable fluctuations in patrons going in and out, she was pretty occupied filling drink orders, that would’ve had me flustered and sweating! This place is an easy 3 blocks away from our place so we walked with our toddler. Hubby had lychee snow with boba and I had a papaya snow with boba. On point. Boba texture was perfect. Flavor wasn’t overly sweet, just right. True prices are a bit high, but she dominates our neighborhood so why not, from her pov? Got a punch card — We’ll be back!

My go to boba place. Is there a bathroom? No. Is it cash only? Yes. Is the boba consistently good? Check check!!! I normally get honey green tea with boba and have not had a problem. I like fast service and a sure thing. I was a boba addict a couple months ago and was coming here 3 – 4 times a week. Was definitely not disappointed.

I’ve taken Garden Grove boba shops for granted. After a day at the beach I needed a clean restroom. The ocean is beautiful and all but public restrooms aren’t. I found this place nearby and figured it’d be a safe choice. As I proceed to pay for my drink I asked for the restroom key, to which I found out the restroom was for employees only! To own a drink shop and not allow your customers to use the restroom is absolutely ridiculous! I was about to cancel my order until the employee said I could use the restroom just this time. Overall average drinks for a steep price. I’m guessing they get away with it since there aren’t many other boba shops nearby?

Heads up this place is cash only! Went in and ordered and didn’t see the tiny post-it sign on the register that’s says cash only until she started making my drink. Once I saw the post it I informed her I didn’t have cash. She seemed bothered and annoyed. I apologized as I didn’t know their cash only policy and that it was my first time there. She never said anything, just a continued look of annoyance. I wanted to try this place as it’s the closest boba place to where I live. I’ll drive further to boba loca and honey Boba where 1) they take debit cards(I don’t think everyone carries cash nowadays) and 2) they have better customer service and actually speak to you when you come in. Probably won’t try to go to this place again. I get it if you don’t want to take cards as a form of payment. But there’s no need to NOT be nice and NOT speak to your customers. Yikes :(

I have tried at least half a dozen places for boba and this place nails it. Not a fancy atmosphere but the quality and texture is perfect and that’s all that matters to me!

I used to frequent this location through my middle school and high school days. The lady running the place is very nice and may not smile or anything, but she gets the job done. They have a very wide variety of drinks and other desserts here. The shaved ice in a cup seems very intimidating but I’ve heard that it’s delicious. I used to frequent this place when I lived nearby and literally walk a block to this place just to get boba and go back home and enjoy my boba while doing homework. The boba balls themselves are okay. It’s not super flavorful but it’s very chewy and might freeze a little bit at the bottom. I love that, by the way. I like that they have a «popular» menu so that it makes it easy if I want to try something new. I came to discover the luxury of taro slush when I decided to try it from the popular menu. Didn’t disappoint and bought a large size of that about ten more times afterwards! They don’t have good seating indoors but that’s okay, wouldn’t want to stay in this neighborhood too much anyway. The prices are very good! Cheap and lots of flavor for the price. I’d love to visit this location again if I were in the area.

My friend and i were cravin for a boba drink. And because this was the closer boba place to where we were at, we gave it a shot. Ok. Really we didnt have a choice. We walked in and got 2 large bobas. To our surprise, the lady literally just used a dirty mug to scoop the tea inside the cooler right in front of us. That was so gross!!! ULK! The place was very untidy too. Im giving this place 2 stars because the lady was actually very nice. We both ended up getting diarrhea! We were bobazoned! Boom boom boom in the bathroom! Ugh!

Not good. Boba in our drinks was mushy and had to be sitting out for days. She got our drinks wrong too, I had ordered boba milk tea w/half sugar and extra ice, and my boyfriend got green tea boba with no modifications; somehow he ended up with unsweetened green tea and I got almost no ice in my drink. For $ 10 for the two drinks, not a good value and not good overall…

Ehhhhhh with more boba places in the south bay why waste your time somewhere where it isn’t good. The drinks are powder based so stick with Thai tea ahha. And their boba is flavorless. And cash only?! The only time I would come here is if they were the last boba place in the area…

It’s important to have a wide and experienced palette when discussing Boba or Tapioca drinks. Most Taiwanese & Chinese have a lot if background here in 626 area, but not back in Taipei or Taichung. So like any Boba house, it’s got to be fresh made, quality ingredients and authentic flavorings; tea, syrup, mixtures. –bottom line: BobaZone is a great price, good variety, and best to get there early. Otherwise, they do shut down, it’s not a social scene like Honey Boba, BUT it’s good, quick, cute, and nice people working there. That’s the honest truth, go there and don’t expect a hangout or high prices. Just very good Tapioca and friendly service

Yick! the boba is INDEED bad/subpar(I mean the actual tapioca balls) It tastes old and doesn’t have the right texture. Flavor of the lychee drink was pretty good. Cash only Prices are way too high for such crappy quality. Drink was filled with ice so there was not much of it.

Pros: +Cheap +Close to my location Cons: –Quality of the drink is proportionate to its cost(mostly) –Cash only(Just a little pet peeve of mine) -/+Quality of Boba is not my cup of tea It has been about 2 years since my last visit to Boba Zone. I have indulged in the very same drink for the past 10 years(give or take a few experimental deviations here and there). Coffee Milk Tea w/Boba. Give me a blind taste test and I’ll easily identify it. Try me. Sadly, it’s not the same. The taste is just not there! Next time I hope there is some improvement.

The South Bay seems to be seriously lacking in good boba places, what do I have to do get a boba milk tea around here? The drinks here are great, but the service is seriously lacking. To start off with they just open and close whenever they want, on 5+ occasions I have stopped by here durning their posted business hours and they’ve been closed. How do you run a business when you’re never open? I don’t understand that. The employees don’t seem to have people skills and whether it’s busy or you’re the only one in there, you’re going to wait forever for your boba. I want to like this place and I’ve given it many chances, but I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

I voted this place two stars because: 1) I don’t know if I got a bad batch of boba… but the boba was very hard and not chewy at all. It tasted chalky because it was old. 2) It was cash only. However, there is a bank near by so you can get some cash. 3) The milk tea was ok, however I don’t see anything special about it. My experience at Boba Zone was bad but most of the reviews said that the boba was sweet and chewy. The boba I tasted was the opposite. We ended up throwing our drinks away and going to a different boba place. It was a waste of money and time.

Wow… what a hidden gem. I’m a fan now. I got the passion fruit green tea with boba, like usual. The small size was pretty small, smaller than most boba places I thought. But the drink was delicious. The drink itself was not too sweet, which a lot of boba drinks tend to be. The boba was chewy, soft, and a bit sweeter than most places, which I thought complimented the drink really well since the drink wasn’t too sweet. The price was ok($ 3.75 for a small drink with boba). The place was small. I think they only had 2 tables. This is more like a place where you order your drinks and take it to go. Very small seating area. I would definitely come back here again and next time I’ll make sure I order the large drink.

I would have to say that this is a best boba I’ve had here in the South Bay. It’s a very tiny shop that’s pretty hidden, but also is in a great location(right by West High). My top flavors for this shop would be, Thai Ice Tea, Boba Milk tea, Coffee Milk, Taro snow, and HoneyDew snow. They have so many options you can choose from! The staff is friendly and will even do phone orders and have them ready before you get there. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars would be because they only accept cash. Other than that, it’s a great place to stop by if you’re craving a refreshing cold drink. :)

My Boba Zone experiences have been pretty good. We forgot to bring our stamp card so then we got our stamps on another card. There was a sign or something that said that stamps couldn’t be transferred onto other cards, but the lady made an exception for us: D I almost always order something strawberry from boba places. I’ve tried the strawberry slush, strawberry snow, and strawberry milk tea at Boba Zone. The strawberry slush tasted nice. Sweet, icy, and full of strawberry goodness like any slush should be. The strawberry snow was great too! It was nice and creamy. The strawberry milk tea, however… it tasted… interesting. I probably wouldn’t recommend it to anybody. 50 cents for extra boba!@!@!@! But apparently they charge for boba now?!? :() The boba is always sweet and chewy. The prices aren’t as high as I’ve seen at some higher quality boba places, but I’ve heard that they’ve gone up since I was last at Boba Zone. Not the best boba around, but still really good! :D

Tried this for the first time. I’ve been meaning to a while back, always passing by when I’m scouring the area for food during my lunch break. And now. I get to try. Saweet. The first thing that caught my eye was the Strawberry Oreo. Oooh, I thinks to myself, that sounds as exotic I’ll ever get in the Zone… Overall, drink was good. It did remind me of slurping down a Chocolate Covered Strawberry concoction from another Boba place(I’m not sure which, I’ve been to too many). The boba was softer than your typical boba, but I was kinda digging it. The consistency: watery. AKA, it won’t last for a long time, so slurp that sucka up. Place was on the small side, so I’m thinking it’s a place where you order, take random pics of their random décor while they make your order, and then bounce. No credit cards ALLOWED! NOOOOOOO… ooh. I found a 5 dolla bill. Here you go.
