The workers arrived on time. They were organized and prepared to handle the furniture and mirrors we had. They were friendly. We needed to have the furniture moved right away and they were able to accommodate us.

First of all, I wrote a review for them as part of their follow-up. Apparently, they didn’t appreciate the constructive review so they had someone call me twice to get me to do a favorable review. I asked the guy how doing a second review changed my experience? He said, well I’m sure there were some positives. I said, yes and I mentioned those in my review however, there are things I wish I knew BEFORE I did business with you so I’m writing a review to tell people those things. Here it is: The young men were nice.(1) They threw things in the truck so that it filled quickly. For example, we had old flooring stacked neatly in the garage so that it took up minimal space. They took the neat stacks and chunked them in the truck so that the stack expanded and took up much more room than if they’d placed the stack in tack. Before we knew it, the truck was«full» but not from the amount of trash but because of the way it was put in the truck. Once the young men declared the truck was FULL I had one of my men get in the truck to organize things so we could continue to fill it for another 15 mins.(2) The $ 115 surcharge to drape the top is the biggest rip off of all time. That cover should used all the time for safety so items are not flying out during transport. So what is the first thing they put in the truck? A sofa vertically so that it sticks up above the top of the truck(when items are above or near the top then they HAVE to drape the cover). But I can see how you would use that as a «gotcha» to ensure an additional $ 115 from blind-sided customers.(3) I was paying 2 adults(plus myself) to help load the truck which probably cut your labor costs in half, if not more. However, there was no compensation on my part. So I guess I should have just sat and watched your guys work but it would have taken too long.(4) Using a credit card to pay? Well there is another surcharge for that special privilege, as well. Only, nobody tells you about it until you are handing the guy your card to pay! Thankfully the company rectified this situation after I played back the manager’s VM from the evening before which had no mention of a cc surcharge when discussing payment options.

The guys arrived on time. Before they started they went over the information which I provided when I set up the appointment to make sure that everyone was«on the same page.» The items that needed to be hauled off were removed just as carefully as the items that I needed moved from one room to the next. I will without a doubt call these guys for all of my hauling and moving needs.

We used College Hunks Hauling Junk and Moving for their hourly labor service to move heavy items within our home. They gave us a time frame of 8am and 10am. Two movers came right at 8am. We had them move two sets of couches(moving a sectional couch upstairs and two couches downstairs), a very heavy elliptical machine was moved upstairs, and they moved our Christmas tree to the attic. The guys were fast and efficient and done within the hour. When setting the appointment though, they gave us their hourly rate with a two hour minimum. An email was sent and a reminder call a day before they would come. When the movers arrived and I had to sign some paperwork I was then told about their trip charge. We were never told about the trip charge nor was it on their website. I didn’t understand considering we weren’t using their moving truck. We paid it anyway though as I needed it done. We called their office and spoke to the manager, Steve. He informed us it was a charge they do apply. Which is fine but we were never told upfront. Steve was able refund us the fee amount. He took ownership and said that their call center needs to be sure to address the fee to customers. When booking any of their services just be sure to ask about any hidden fees that you may incur. Overall though we were pleased with their services.
