Tigard Triangle Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics

First off, going to the dentist can be the worst thing ever. But like Breezy R. this is the best dental office ever. My first visit two years ago was an emergency visit as I woke up with an absess tooth that had made my face so swollen. They took care of me and got me the help I needed and fix that darn tooth I had neglected. They are my go to dentist and honestly I won’t go to another dental office. I have seen a few dentists at this office and have been impressed with their care and knowledge. Would totally recommend them to all.

I swear to all that is good and holy I did not know going to the dentist could be ENJOYABLE.
Starting with the fact that me and husband showed up a full week early — they still managed to get us in, clean our oft-​neglected grills, extract one and cap another on him and give me a filling. All while being kind, gentle, respectful (of us, time, budget, etc), fun and funny.
I should have known it would be all good when Dr. Sasse shook my hand. Yes, Doctor Sasse, and she *is* sassy! I love how she explained everything really clearly and took the time to make sure all was understood properly.
All in all, the best time that could be had, was.
And — piña colada mouth rinse.

I was very anxious about the gum graft surgery that my dentist had recommended! At first I met with the periodontist in Lake Oswego that my dentist referred me to. I wanted to meet one other for a comparison and second opinion. I did some more research and decided to meet Dr. Olivares. I decided to go with her and I’m very glad in did. She explained everything that I needed to know. She prescribed an anti anxiety med pre-​procedure (a blessing) and was sensitive to my comfort through the entire process (I had three teeth grafted). She sent me home with good instructions and even called me that evening to follow up. Everyone in the office was soooo nice and helpful, the facility was immaculate and comfortable, and the location and parking made our coming and going very easy. If you need gum care, be sure and meet Dr. Olivares before you decide!

I have final found my dental office! It is well run, clean, technological, and with a fantastic staff. I very impressed by the receptionist, the billing specialist, the dentist (Dr. Kim), the technician, and the hygienist. They were all very friendly, super efficient, and answered all my questions. I could have not asked for more. Highly, highly recommend.

Will be recommending this office to my friends. Glad to have started treatment there.

Very professional and friendly environment. I’ve always been afraid of the dentist but the team at Tigard Triangle Smiles makes you feel welcome and very comfortable. Explains every single step so that you’re aware of all the treatment/​costs that you are dealing with. The doctors actually listen to your problems/​concerns and gives different options to fulfill your needs.
I have many visits ahead of me, an extensive work to be done for I’ve ignored my problems too long. I look forward to future visits. I hope they are as great as it was at my first visit.

Terrible customer service. I called and scheduled an appointment for my son. I asked for a Monday after 3pm. On the agreed date 6÷3÷2013 I had not received a confirmation call yet, so I called to confirm. The representative stated she did not see my name in the books until Thursday??? No apology from the representative, she did look to see if they Dentist could fit me in, with no avail. I only have Mondays off and would never have scheduled an appointment on a different day. They could not fit me in again until the end of the month. The unprofessional representative said that the dentist is going on vacation for a couple weeks??? Maybe its easier for the staff for clients NOT to come in the office??? Very disappointed and will NEVER be rescheduling the appointment. Also will tell everyone I know about the terrible service at Tigard Smile Dental! Unhappy!

OK, we have just returned from an actual appointment on their $ 59 initial exam special offer. The office IS NOT CLOSED as I speculated earlier. I did however, leave up my earlier first impressions posted below. And have upgraded my earlier low grade up to four stars from my earlier low grade. Possibly higher after any actual dental work is performed.
Unlike my previous dentist, Dr. Nehring appears to schedule ONE patient at a time which is a major plus for me. But then I had no actual work done… just an exam, x rays, and treatment plan proposal. And it now appears I need some major work… but that’s not the dentist’s fault, but mine.
One really cool thing is the digital X rays and regular photos which makes it far easier for the patient to SEE and understand WHY complicated procedures are suggested. When was the last time YOUR dentist sent you home with copies of your x rays, actual photos of problem areas, and alternative treatment cost estimates?
Oh… and clearly the office manager had read my earlier (way too harsh) review since they now have both office hours and a «WILL RETURN at…» clock for the door.
Dr. Nehring seems as nice and conscientious as can be. While fairly new to his practice, I would have all the confidence in his skills. Now I just wish he had better news for me. I have a feeling this is going to be longer than desired running review… unfortunately.

Yesterday, I tried each of the four phone numbers found online, left voice messages and completed a «contact us» page with full explanation of my problem. My initial impression was they have changed their office hours or have closed up shop. No one has called or e mailed back yet so I tried some of the phone listings when I got an answer at (503) 620‑2319 today. Beth assures me the office was closed only one day due to illness. Nice as can be and apologies for the confusion. Besides, who wants to visit a dentist with the flu?
Unfortunately, my case as detailed in the «contact us» form was not available to Beth who took it all my information down again. And we agreed on an appointment in 5 days.
More to follow. Up one star to two for answering their phone. I suspect this will work out much better than the first impression. And I sure don’t want to make my future dentist mad. But I am leaving my earlier post to show what a first impression can look like.

This is a review about TRYING to see the dentist at Tigard Triangle Smiles… unsuccessfully. Their website indicates they opened five months ago but do not appear permanently closed.
The office was closed and door locked on Thursday, 1÷31÷13 from 1:30 pm to 2:15 pm with no posted office (or lunch) hours on the door but during the «open office hours» posted on line. The advertised (503) 620‑2319 number on the door & on line gets no answer but eventually left a recorded message which as of 4 pm was not answered. So I looked up Dr. Richard Nehring on line and got several other phone numbers, all apparently incorrect.
It must be tough trying to open a new dental clinic. Probably worse when none of the associated FOUR phone numbers are answered, Not very reassuring but my best experience with a dentist was one fresh out of dental school.
One star (so far) might be a little harsh so far, but if my experience improves, I’ll be glad to upgrade later… if they aren’t actually closed.
It is possible they only open for confirmed appointments but there are no notes to that effect on the door or on line.

One of the best dental visits I have ever had. The staff was really friendly and explained everything, including costs, to me before hand. I felt like they really were happy that I was their customer. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.
