These guys are fantastic. I’ve taken two calamities to them and they’ve been effective, offered options, and been priced reasonably. As the owner of my own business, it’s encouraging to see.

Perfect. Very friendly, great communication, reasonably priced, finished by date promised, everything I hoped for. I brought in my Macbook Air because I had spilled juice on the keyboard and it wasnt functionly correctly — they not only fixed the keyboard and motherboard they did some other cleanup and maintenance for me. Highly recommend!

So happy that I found Portland Computer works on Unilocal.I was seriously going to take my Mac Book Pro to Apple. Trevor saved me over $ 500 alone on the screen replacement. Trevor repaired my cracked screen, did a tune up and added 2 more gb to my laptop that was running slow for under $ 200. He is very friendly, professional and had my computer repaired quickly. For several weeks, our lenovo laptop cannot connect internet either through an Ethernet cable or just via wireless. I called Portland Computerworks. After listening to my problem, Trevor offered to take a look at my laptop’s issue. I brought my laptop to their office. After some testing, he offered for a detailed diagnostic testing for $ 25. He suspected that the problem might be malwares blocking our internet access. If that is the case, they charge somewhere between $ 65 to $ 95 to fix it, including the initial diagnostic fee.
I left my laptop there yesterday. He was able to remove the malwares and also performed extensive computer maintenances such as cleaned drives, window update installation, file optimization, etc. He also helped us install an anti-​malware program to prevent future similar problems. I paid total less than $ 80 and brought my laptop home with instant internet connections today. I really appreciate their expertise and resolve our problems fast and charge fair and affordable rates.
I highly recommend them to anyone who has a computer problem and know myself where my family goes to for our future computer issues.

I was advised to seek out Joseph at Portland Computerworks which oddly is not in Portland at all. Unable to find, «TIGARD Computerworks» I stumbled into the workshop just two blocks North of Pacific Highway on Greenburg. Joseph was nowhere to be found.
There are TWO businesses here and as luck would have it, I also needed the services of Dustin at PROX WIRELESS (see review dtd 4÷13÷15). Short version: Cell phone battery issues & wireless internet hardware problem… BAM… fixed.
Cell phone wizard, Dustin advises Joseph is a brand new Dad and will soon have serious sleep issues but «Trevor» will get my laptop unlocked from my impatient, self inflicted blue screen of death. OK, if Dustin says, «Trevor is a laptop wizard»…good enough for me. For Dustin has proven he is THE MAN for cell phone stuff.
I should add I am a tech Dinosaur. My frozen laptop is now a dated HP windows 7 machine, but is also my comfortable shoe and I’ve always been able to fly it fast and with few interruptions. But THIS time, I was stuck in the mud up to the windows and barely able to get out without drowning.
The long version takes at least two beers (available on request) but the short version is Trevor saved my data, my favorites, my pics, my real estate documents, and prevented me from having to learn yet another version of Windows. And he did so at a fair price. I can only imagine how important this would be if I had a business with a similar problem… and if that’s YOU… well, you need that data and your functioning equipment back… pronto.
He only charged me $ 9 to hit it my old laptop with his special laptop hammer, $ 50 to know WHERE to hit it, and $ 10 for not lecturing me about the porn on the hard drive. A bargain at $ 69 total. And while he was perfecting his HP hammering, I was shopping in vain for a USED similar windows 7 machine. And those are HARD to find… and much more than $ 69 IF you can find one.
So if you want your laptop overhauled, new timing belt, plugs and wires, tire rotation, new fuel injectors, transmission fluid changed, don’t want to buy a new laptop (with an entirely different OS), and don’t want to be lectured about your craigslist surfing habits… Trevor is your man. (I was just looking for FIREwood… honestly…that darn auto complete).
Now, anyone want to buy me a couple of beers and hear the LONG version?

I am so glad I found Portland Computerworks!

I recently took my laptop to Portland Computerworks for a new battery and to have the screen replaced after reading good reviews on Unilocal and found them to be as good as advertised. Good communication, fair prices, and even though their supplier sent the wrong screen the first time around still got it back to me in a week.
Before I went to them I got a quote for the battery at Interstate Batteries and they wanted $ 99 and Portland Computerworks charged me less than half of that.
Computer repair is like car repair, you want someone you can trust who is going to give you what you need at a fair price and get it done quickly without trying to sell you a bunch of stuff you don’t need. For me, Portland Computerworks is that place.

Brought an older laptop in for a repair of the power cable connection. They diagnosed the problem, were clear about the time frame for ordering the part and I really like that we set a cap on the amount I was willing to pay for the repair. That gave me the option to just replace the computer if it ended up being too expensive. On schedule, I received their call that the computer was fixed. They did a great job and were complete professionals.
Very glad to have found these guys and very worth the drive down from Beaverton for any repair needs. Thanks!

Portland Computerworks were very helpful, efficient, and quick. I took my mac in to be wiped, updated, and cleaned. I was very happy with how my computer was running and they helped me with downloading new software information. I loved that they had a little pug who welcomed me and I loved that it was hassle free. I’m not sure why I keep going to the «Genius Bar» before having Joseph & Trevor actually fix «the unfixable»!
This was my 2^nd Mac that I was told by the Apple Store that there was nothing they could do, except to send it to California for replacement.
Unilocal needs to add a 6^th star for Portland Computer Works! I’d use it!
Issue was more than resolved by a new drive, and I got a great deal on some refurbished gear while there!

I legit cannot say enough good things about this place. They’re fast, inexpensive, and so nice. They’ve fixed my desktop when my graphics card stopped working, replaced the screen on my old laptop, and helped my husband with some of his own display issues.
I have a little bit of knowledge so tend to fiddle and identify problems but I’ll always make the drive when I’m stumped and I’m in Vancouver.

I’ve used their services twice now and both times they were spectacular. After relying on Best Buy’s Geek Squad to service my laptop I purchased a little over a year ago to service my computer I am so happy I found Portland Computerworks.
My first visit had a myriad of issues to address including my internet access being denied and finding as well as accessing some critical files that seemed to be lost and/​or damaged. I scheduled an appointment online met with Trevor and we discussed the issues I was having as he did a basic overview of my laptop. Two days later my system was ready for pick-​up and when I began using it I was thrilled to find it functioned again like it was brand new! The internet was accessible and my files were recovered and restored to my computer.
My second visit (a couple months later) was due to an internet access issue again due to malware. I run Trend Micro on my system for virus and malware protection and I have it update everyday but the malware bug still hit my system and wouldn’t let me access a browser (of any kind) on my system. I stopped by at 4:30 P.M. without an appointment and Joseph jumped right in to do a checkup. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find the issue with the quick review so we checked my laptop in for a more thorough review and repair job. My computer was fixed by the end of the next business day! Once again, I picked it up to have it running super sweet!
Trevor checked me out and explained I was getting hit with malware. He then showed me the likely culprit was accepting a software update from Adobe or Java. His explanation made sense as I have a tendency to accept the Adobe Flash update when it pops up (that are actually posers… stupid creeps!). Oops, my bad! The point is Trevor took the time to help me identify what was causing the issue so I could prevent it vs. having to keep bringing my computer back to them for repairs.
I then received some great tips on internet service (since I recently moved from Colorado to Oregon) because I complained about my current provider to them. Joseph took the time to share some referrals and give a testimonial on what he uses and why. I love that these guys are so personable and willing to share tips on how to get the best performance from your machine.

Joseph and Trevor were super helpful and patient in answering all my questions before I even decided to bring my computer in. They even gave up some free advice on what parts to buy and didn’t freak out when I had ordered them through a third party instead of them. Communication and service were excellent and the work done was great. I felt what they charged was a steal for the level of service and work provided. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and I will be back if I ever need to!

Great service! My husband had his Mac mini repaired. Done in less than 24hrs and great customer service he must have been dealing with the manager because we were so well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for any computer related needs. Happy!

I liked that the person who worked on my computer actually greeted me and talked about the problem on the spot. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and fixed the problem at a reasonable price in less than 24 hours. Can’t ask for more.

Joseph and Portland Computerworks were fantastic!
I came to them because my 2 year old decided to hit my MacBook Pro with his toy car. He cracked the LCD screen and Joseph was very helpful in getting me a quote to fix. He also recommended that I check with the Apple store to see if it may end up a better deal because his original estimate was lower than it turned out to be mostly due to the fact that it is a very new Macbook and the replacement screen parts were not very economical on ebay yet. Although I got the screen fixed via the Apple store, Joseph and I continued discussing my computers and I shared with him that I had another MacBook (circa 2009) that had a glass of water spilled on it about 3 years ago and has been sitting on my desk ever since (Apple quoted me $ 850 to fix and it was nearly as much for a new unit). Joseph encouraged me to bring it in and so I did.
Much to my surprise and pleasure, Joseph informed me that it simply needed some corrosion removal and a new hard drive. After parts and labor, it ended up costing around $ 200. In addition to that, Joseph was able to salvage ALL of my previous documents, photos, etc. My wife and I had accepted we would never see that info again, much of which included photos of our wedding and our collegiate senior thesis’.
What a great experience with Portland Computerworks! I can’t say I look forward to having additional broken computers, but when I do, I know where I’m going! Thank you Joseph!

I think I found a new computer service person! I used to have a guy that I’d have to drive and meet somewhere. It is nice to have a nearby location to go to. I tried them out from a Living Social deal. IT was good timing, because my hard drive was failing. I realized that that wouldn’t be part of the deal, and so in the end I paid more for the hard drive. Joseph was very professional and customer service oriented. The price was right as well. I will be back and do highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Portland Computer works for anyone having an issue with their computer. As a first time customer, I was happy with the customer service of Portland Computer works. I dealt with Trevor, who was very polite, and addressed all issues with my laptop in a very professional and timely manner. My laptop came back clean, shiny, and running like new… and for that, I plan to patron this business whenever another issue arises.

Just a note to let you know that I am in love with my new hard drive. I’m not sure how ((I’m sure you do) but it seems as if I have a new computer. The speed is magnificent, that I expected but the visuals seem sharper and the colors more accurate.

I have used their services twice and highly recommend them. On both occasions they have exceeded my expectations. The first trip involved an impending HDD failure the day before an important presentation. They were able to replace my HD and restore all my programs and my computer came back looking better and running faster than when I dropped it off. I had a similar experience with a family member’s laptop a few weeks later.
The shop is clean, bright and inviting. The staff is knowledgeable, professional and welcoming. The service is prompt, thorough and reasonably priced. They went out of their way for me twice to meet a fast turnaround requirement. I would never go anywhere else.
