Office Depot

Never again. I needed an inexpensive computer monitor, and saw that this store offered one at $ 89.00. When I went to purchase it, I was told that they did not have any in stock and hadn’t for quite some time. A typical, bait-​and-​switch tactic, in which advertised inventory is purposely under-​ordered, so that the customer is left with only pricier options. Needless to say, I did not buy their more expensive product, and will not be patronizing this retailer again.

What a poor experience I found in shopping today! First a clerk asked if he could help me find something then he proceeded to make odd comments and wound up by saying that he hated retail. Felt extremely uncomfortable! Then I took a product that I have purchased there before in a different size to the register to see if they carried it in
my normal size. The clerk obviously didn’t have a clue but informed me that she didn’t think so — I could just look on line. I guess customer service is dead and gone. I long for the neighborhood stores where the workers were courteous, knew what they carried (or how to quickly find out) and went out of their way to be helpful!

Worse place ever! Waaaaaay Over priced and they won’t accept returns on Office Depot labeled merchandise! So much for customer service. Lesson learned, next time I’ll just buy supplies at Costco or on-​line. This is exactly why people use Amazon and Office Depots keep closing!

The WORST customer service! Needed to send a 1 page fax and waited 10 min for anyone to acknowledge me even though I was the only one waiting. Then someone faxed it, went on a break and I had to ask someone else to see if my fax sent. It didn’t, machine was sleeping. Ended up taking my own fax off the machine and going somewhere else

The sales consultant Martin was super rude, he clearly hates his job and let’s everyone around him know with his terrible attitude. I wouldn’t recommend having him help you with any sort of printing, he complains the whole time.

I have an annual printing project done in Office Depot. Every year without failing, their incompetence and poor customer service has bought me more frustration then any other store — takes forever to place an order, slow workers, unable to do the job right the first time, unable to keep the deadline… this is a consistent experience over a few years. I went there because of convenience of location to where I live. I can’t imagine that they are still in business with the kind of low quality work provided. Will NOT ever use them again. Strongly urge you NOT to use their services.

I like this Office Depot location. It seems a little larger than the one in Simi Valley, although still on the smaller side. It is always well stocked and I never have any trouble finding what I need. The employees are friendly and helpful, and they will help you find what you are looking for. Sometimes check out can be slow but they are usually good about noticing when the line is getting long and opening up a new register. The parking lot is on the small side and it is shared with The Habit and other places, so it does get pretty busy around lunch time. This is a great place for me to run in and get what I need when I do not have time to order online and wait for it to be delivered.

Stopped in here today to look for a sliding keyboard tray to install under my desk. I was on my way to find an associate in the middle of the store when I got distracted by other cool looking products. I wandered around, browsing, and one of the ladies at the cash registers yelled out, «Can I help you, Ma’am?» I said no. I didn’t mind her wanting to help, but I was embarrassed to be called out to, and hate being called ma’am. :(
I went over to the two employees I’d originally been aiming for and they asked if they could help me. I explained the product I was looking for and the first young man told me they didn’t carry them. The second young man corrected him, saying that they did carry the item I wanted. The first man asked the second where they were located and the second man walked us both over to them. «Huh. I never knew we had those,» the first said.
A customer had their shopping cart diagonal in the walkway to get to the register and I was called up to a register past this customer. I tripped on the shopping cart, carelessly sticking out every which way into the isle. The woman at the register (the same one who had called out to me before) loudly encouraged me to be more careful. As I walked out (where there were no shopping carts at all), she loudly advised again that I be careful and not trip. I know she meant well, but it was uncomfortable and embarrassing. I felt like she was treating me like I was a clutz even in wide open spaces without any obstacles. I’m glad I got the thing I wanted, but was disappointed the first employee hadn’t known they even carried them. What if the second guy hadn’t been there? I would have walked out empty handed.

Local office supply — most everything you need. Services are ok buy not great — you however get what you pay for at good prices. Very handy and as a franchise you can find in most towns. Copying is pretty marginal as very self service — know what you are doing. I’m happy with them as seem to be reliable over long time.

Unfortunately I have to frequent this store because our corporation has an account here. The staff is friendly and attentive but their method of identifying customers as they walk in is super creepy (guy eyes me and DOES NOT whisper into head piece «blonde woman, short hair, blue shirt, heading to printers, stopping at calendars…»). The problem is no one knows what they are doing. They clearly are not trained, don’t take the time to get to know the store or products (but at least they get a paycheck!) and sadly I rely on their copy center heavily at least one time a year which is staffed with people who don’t know how to run any of the machines properly and literally tell me they are out of certain colors of paper (but what about the hundreds of reams on the sales floor?). Today I was told «Chris» used to be the only one to «do this stuff» and now that he’s gone — «I’ll play with it awhile and see if I can figure it out». Awesome — tons of confidence I will meet my mailing deadline.

Worst customer service ever!!! I always try to give them another chance but they ALWAYS screw something up! I waited over 1 hour for 12 copies on cardstock! And today I called before I went there and asked for the price and then when I went therethey told me that was not the price for a copy. I will never ever go back!

There is an employee there, didn’t catch her name but she is older where’s glasses and has half a bowl cut in the front. We went in for a simple task (print a business card) and she was completely incompetent and on top of that was sassy enough to say it can’t be done and critiquing the card as being the wrong size when all major online references stated the size as being 1.75×3.25 with about .25 play. Anyway, besides the point, she first off took the image and used copy paste as a technique to print it and of course it doesn’t work, this is not the stone age. When finally enlightening her on the use of a template, she proceed to place the image anywhere but right and when finally showing her how, she proceeded to say actually no you can’t do that, no that doesn’t work, while foolishly getting proven wrong. In the end, I walked out due to the lack of ability of this one employee and would ask that management see to it that she gets fired so I can shop there again.

The folks working at Office Depot are truly helpful and fun. They don’t have the product line of Staples, but fair prices and good return policy. I’ve been shopping here for years.

The staff is always very helpful and friendly. We recently purchased a new printer and the guy who helped me was very courteous and professional. Regardless of what area I browse, I’m always asked if I need assistance. The prices are pretty reasonable for office products and equipment. I like the self serve copying area for when you just need a copy or two.

Attempted to send a fax-​the male employee behind the counter kept telling me that it «wasn’t connecting». Very indifferent attitude toward assisting me. I phoned my receiving party and was told that their machine was hooked up properly and receiving faxes.
Went up the street to the UPS Store (formerly Kinkos) and sent it there-​the fax went right thru without problems. Called the Office Depot store and informed them of my success at UPS and was told by the manager that my receiving party was to blame and that it wasn’t Office Depot’s fax with a problem not working.
Even though I have to drive further, I will now be going to the UPS Store.

Was asked during a purchase if I was in member rewards and then when tried to join was told could sign up from home and enter receipt for points afterward. Found out couldn’t so then complained to corp. office. They replied almost immediately that they could fix issue… and then emailed week later that «oops can’t — but appreciate my being a member now». Inept all the way up the chain so member no longer. Staples

Tends to be either crowded or deserted, depending on what the local schools are up to. When this office depot is crowded, my gosh is it CROWDED. They don’t tend to have sales that are as good as some other places (Staples, Office Max) a few miles up or down TO Blvd. In general, I find it to be more expensive than usual.
Also, they’ve run out of composition books on two separate occasions, and only stocked one variety of orange book cover for back to school last August :’(

I would give this place 0 stars worst group of people ever … I have worked here and been treated as bad as they treated customers this is why staples and other places make Office Depot look silly … Another thing they never have anything in stock. Nathan the manager most two faced guy I have ever seen.

Perhaps things have changed in the last year or so, because I had a great experience.
I ordered ink cartridges from Office Depot online. One of the items was correct, but the multipack with three colors of ink that cost over $ 50 was completely wrong. I was sent only a yellow ink cartridge.
I came into this store to ask for an exchange and I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly and nicely my problem was handled. I was immediately approached by an employee that directed me to customer service. One employee looked at my paperwork, and talked to the manager. He looked over my order and immediately went and got me the right ink cartridge package. No hassle, no doubting my integrity. I also noticed that an elderly man had come in and the store employees dealt with him in a kind and friendly manner.
