I worked with Cynthia in the internet sales department when I bought my new 2016 MX-​5 Sport. It was without a doubt the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. I sent Cynthia an e-​mail asking for a quote and she got me a great price on the car.
I am very particular when I buy a new car, and she was totally accommodating with all of my needs. I asked that she verify the odometer reading and that the car had not been test driven before, and specifically requested that the car not be washed so I could hand it directly over to my detailing guy. None of those things were an issue — she verified the odometer for me and secured the keys to the car in her office. I hopped in the car and drove over two hours to Neftin Mazda to pick up my new car. Absolutely worth the drive!
I’d test driven the new MX-​5s at a few dealerships so I didn’t feel the need to drive the car I’d be buying, but I inspected everything carefully and the car was perfect. I met Cynthia when I arrived and she’s by far the most friendly and humorous sales person I’ve ever dealt with. We sat down and filled out the paperwork (which was a breeze!), took care of the financing side, and Cynthia even followed me to the gas station as I had requested to be the one that drives the car off the lot. I drove off with the biggest smile on my face in my new MX-​5!
Let’s review. Cynthia responded immediately to my calls and e-​mails, is a Mazda enthusiast herself and is extremely passionate about the cars she sells, has encyclopedic knowledge of every new Mazda vehicle, has a fantastic sense of humor, and was completely straightforward and forthcoming throughout the entire purchase process. I might have to buy another Mazda just so I can work with her again!
It’s not just her either. All of the other staff at Neftin Mazda were an absolute pleasure to work with, and the dealership itself is very nice. Everything is kept very clean and organized inside and the premises look great too.
All in all, I’d give far more than five stars if I could. If you’re in the market for a new or used Mazda, send Cynthia an e-​mail or give her a call and you’ll never be disappointed. Hands down the best Mazda dealer in Southern California.

I went to several car dealers to compare brands and models before choosing Neftin Westlake Mazda. The experience there was great and everyone was very friendly. I worked with Cynthia Votava and MJ Robinson and they were both terrific. I went through Costco and MJ responded to my request immediately and was willing to work around my schedule. He asked me what I was looking for in a car and showed me exactly what I wanted. There was no pressure; he handed me the keys and let me and my husband test drive it ourselves. He made us feel very comfortable.
We then worked with his teammate, Cynthia, and she was fabulous to work with. She has a great personality. She made us feel at ease and worked very hard to give us a good deal. We never once felt pressured to buy upgrades. She explained the choices and the associated price and it was up to us. I appreciated her honesty. She was very friendly and straight forward and made the whole experience of purchasing a car fun.
Cynthia spent as much time as we needed to explain the navigation/​infotainment system and all of the other great features of this beautiful car. She even goes above and beyond and gives classes during the week to help out those less technologically skilled to help make their driving experience even better. Cynthia even gave me that extra touch of making a personalized decal for my car window. I would definitely recommend both Cynthia and MJ.

We went for a few test drives before getting to Neftin, where they were more than happy to help us. I looked for MJ specifically as we met him a couple of weeks before at an event near our house. He approached us and gave us his card in case we wanted to see anything at the dealership.
Once we were ready we got to the dealership and he helped us zoom in on the exact car we wanted, got us the one we wanted, and helped us figure out between buying and leasing, going back and forth to get us the best numbers for us.
His approach is very non-​game and laid-​back. He does not pressure you, as opposed to many other salesmen we’ve encountered at other dealerships.
We traded in our old Mazda for a new one and are now cruising happily and safely in style.

Neftin Mazda feels like a family run business from the moment you walk in. We were given all the information that we requested and were given the opportunity to buy a car. We never felt as if we were being sold. When you are dealing with mature buyers, this is a must. There are still some professional sales people out there, they are with the Neftin group.
I would give 6 stars if i could.

Had a major disaster with my Jetta recently, and broke down close to Neftin. After an initial diagnosis it was deemed that the turbo on my car had exploded and shattered through different parts of the engine and filter systems. The cost was close to 6k parts and labor. John Garcia, the service manager, suggested i call VW corporate as they maybe able to help with the cost. Long story short, VW ended up footing the bill for all the parts (around 4k), and left me with a much more manageable amount to pay. VW still have a long way to go to fix the mess they made, but from a personal prospective they definitely went above and beyond in helping me. As for Neftin, John Garcia did and excellent job from start to finish in managing my case. Helpful, empathetic and did everything he could to keep the price down. If youre going to breakdown, try and breakdown near Neftin :)

My wife and I had one of the worst experiences a car buying consumer could have dealing with Cynthia Votava of Neftin Westlake Mazda. I wish I could give a rating less than zero stars as one star is way too generous.
My wife’s car was totaled in an accident so we were in the market for a new car. Due to my wife’s desire to have a manual transmission with certain options, she decided on the 2016 Mazda6 i Touring Edition. My wife contacted Neftin Mazda and spoke with Cynthia Votava over the phone about the car she wanted and the color she preferred. Cynthia did not have the car that fit my wife’s desires on their lot but said she had located one at another lot and could have it transferred to Neftin’s lot so that we could make the purchase.
My wife was very specific about what she wanted in a car and verified the car Cynthia had located really had the features she wanted and the color she desires. Cynthia also stressed that the car she located had recently been delivered at the other dealer’s lot and had not been driven by anyone, not even a test drive. My wife and I performed an Internet search for the vehicle on Mazda’s website to review the specifications and discovered the car was listed as having only 4 miles on it.
After having verified everything was in order, my wife worked out the financing numbers with Cynthia, and let her know we were going to put $ 10,000 down. Cynthia told my wife that they would have the car transferred from the other dealer so it would be there that day for us to take home. Well, the other dealer was located 115 miles from their dealership and they wanted to send a driver to the other dealership and have him drive it back to Neftin. She needed my wife to give her the go ahead to send her driver to get the car.
As mentioned earlier, one of the things Cynthia had stressed to my wife was the fact that the car had not been driven by anyone and it only had 4 miles on it. I talked to Cynthia and mentioned how it is 115 miles between dealerships and could they transport the vehicle on a flatbed instead of have it driven. At this point she got major attitude and started going on about how she couldn’t do that. Well, I let her know that I didn’t want the car driven that far before we took delivery and, if she feel it must be driven the 115 miles, I would rather go to the other dealer and get the car in order to prevent so many miles being placed on it. I asked her if there is any way she could still get some credit for the sale if we just go to the other dealer ourselves and get the car in order to keep additional miles from being placed on the car by anyone but me or my wife. Oh, she got major attitude at that point and I had to end the conversation with her. After my conversation with Cynthia, she called my wife and my wife let her know that we did not want to buy the car from her, to forget about the sale and don’t worry about doing the vehicle transfer, she DID NOT need to send her driver to get the car as there is no longer a buyer for it.
Given the distance between dealerships and the distance from Neftin Mazda to our house, the car would have had about 175 miles on it by the time we got it home. If we were to go get it from the other dealer ourselves the car would have 84 miles on it when we got it home, of which 80 would have been driven by my wife and not someone else. One of the huge pluses with buying this particular new car was that it only had 4 miles on it! We couldn’t get any newer than that unless we had driven it out of the Mazda factory. That is an excellent new car purchase in our book.
After the unpleasant exchange with Cynthia, I called the other dealer myself to verify if the car was at their lot. They did have it and sure enough it only had 4 miles on it. We let them know we wanted the car, that we had an unpleasant experience with Cynthia and that we were on our way to buy it with a $ 10,000 check in hand for down payment.
While on our way out the door we received a call from the salesperson at the new dealership that there had been a dealer transfer initiated for the car. We asked for details and it turns out Cynthia had gone ahead and initiated a transfer for the car although she no longer had a buyer. It seems that she wanted to transfer the car to Neftin in order to keep us from purchasing the car from the other dealer even though she did not have a buyer. Even the new dealer was surprised when they found out my wife and I were the people with whom she was supposedly doing the transfer.
After a lot of work to make the sale with the new dealer and a lot of updates from them on their efforts to retain the car so we could come buy it, it turns out Cynthia had gone the 115 miles herself instead of sending a driver to get the car and make sure it was not at the lot of the new dealer to sell to us. There is no other way to explain the situation. Now, my wife and I have to start over with our new car search and not only would we ever want to deal with Neftin Mazda

I always bring my Mazda here for service because I had good experience at Neftin Volkswagon before I had a Mazda. The service department goes above and beyond to make sure you feel appreciated.

First off, I have to say that the employees in the service department are fun people and great to work with. Particularly, Julian was fantastic! He’s just a good guy, who does an excellent job, to make sure you have the best customer experience possible.
Pros: great service department (I called in for servicing, and they happily did it same day); servicing is fast, well-​done, car wash included; great service staff (particularly Julian): responsive, understanding, and communicative.
Cons: pricey, can get better deals elsewhere, sales department feels hierarchical and old fashioned, with low enthusiasm
Overall: good experience; get your regular car servicing here; when purchasing a car, find a better deal elsewhere and try to price match; find a less expensive place to get new tires, rudders, brake pads, windshields, windows, etc. (I recommend Hank’s Tire in Woodland Hills); lastly, it’s amazing how far a smile goes (give them a smile and they’ll smile back).

Bought a 2016 Mazda 5 from Erik Venegas. He was great to work with, very knowledgeable, patient, and we really appreciated his no pressure approach. We went in late on a weeknight when they happened to be closing up the dealership. Erik stayed and let us take a car out for a test drive. After looking around for a few days, we went back and bought the car. The entire process was faster than it took to get a price from other dealerships, no drama or stress. I would recommend this dealership and Erik for a hassle free buying experience.

The day I started looking for a car, I called all the dealership around the area in search of a car that I wanted. The next day I bought my car from Neftin with the help of Internet Manager Cynthia Votava. She is very honest, very helpful, very accommodating and very punctual. Cynthia and Erik (sales rep) made my decision easy to get it from Neftin. (They also have the BEST DEALS around). THANKS Cynthia & Erik!
I also bring my other cars here for service, Joe & Dan are super helpful and friendly.
The parts department however is another story, they sold me the wrong parts on more than 2 occasions. I don’t live nearby so the hassle of returning the parts is a big inconvenience and waste of my time and gas money.

Quite a horrible experience. Did not end up buying a car. I conversed via email with Cynthia, an Internet Manager, to inquire whether or not they would match a great deal that I received from Browning Mazda of Cerritos. She asked me to forward the offer and then proceeded to trash talk the other dealer. I called her out on something that she said that was wrong, and she replied, «Your recent reply was rude and unwarranted.» «If you would like to purchase a 2016 Mazda6 Touring I am happy to assist you with that transaction. If not, please refrain from further inappropriate communications.»
She was rude. 100%. I would never buy spend $ 28,000 at a place like this.

I had such a good experience leasing my Mazda 3 from Neftin Mazda. This was my first time leasing a car and I didn’t know exactly what I wanted when I came to the lot. Everyone working there was very patient with me, showed me all of the different combinations (color/​technology package/​sedan vs hatchback) and walked me through the pricing differences. When I finally found the exact car I wanted the actually leasing process was very quick. After the paper work was done I got a tutorial on all the different features of the car and left knowing exactly how to use it. I would definitely lease from Neftin Mazda again!

A week ago my wife and I bought a certified used Mazda CX-​9. The process went very smoothly and the service was great. Everything was very fair, which many time exceeds expectations coming in. I enjoyed working with John Weeks. He took care of us well.

They are a blast to drive. Peppy, good MPG with amazing steering and handling on the entire line. Features that ya have to pay thousands more for on other brands of cars.

I had what might be the typical unpleasant car buying experience here.
We walked in and right off the bat, the man who greeted seemed like he couldn’t care less whether we were there. We were meeting with John Weeks, who was nice enough to meet us on his day off.
We waited for a while and John came in, and said that he didn’t have any cars, but they could do a dealer trade tomorrow. Okay… why did I bother coming today? I had told them I would be back in town on Monday, and they had known it for a week or two, so why hadn’t they done a dealer trade earlier? I thought it was Car Dealer 101 to have a car there so that your customer can get emotionally attached! Guess not, here.
Either way, I decided to stay and talk about the potential sale. He became very preoccupied with getting me to choose a color. I told him that color didn’t really matter to me, but he seemed very fixated on it. The three colors he was having me choose between, I hadn’t ever seen in person! I told him this and he still wanted me to choose one, so I decided to humor him. He was happy to provide information about Mazda’s college discount, but acted odd when I asked for a photocopy of the information – he shuffled his papers a bunch, and eventually came back with a photocopy of only the very last page of the requirements, not even the full document. Okay… I was pretty much over it at this point.
Finally, the real kicker. He wanted me to draft up and sign paperwork to buy a car that same day… for a car I had never seen! I don’t know if that’s standard practice but that seems totally backwards to me. I said no, obviously, and he got huffy. Seems like they’re desperate to close deals here, but I’m not going to draft up paperwork for ANYTHING that I haven’t ever seen before, and if you think I will then you must think I’m some kind of idiot. I don’t deal well with incompetence or being treated like I’m a fool.
Walked out of there, drove up to Ventura to buy my car, and never looked back. Avoid!

Coming from out of state I’m always leery about over spending on car services. Joe is just an overall honest guy, and great at his job. I would recommend coming here and seeing him if you need your car taken car of correctly. Thanks again!

I highly recommend the service department at Neftin Mazda. I completely trust Joe and know he wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t need. He is upfront with what is needed and when. He explains why it is needed and wants his customer to understand and feel comfortable with their decision. No one wants to spend money on their car but good upkeep makes the car last longer. Joe truly is giving his best advice and since he has been in this business for over 20 years, I’m comfortable knowing he knows his stuff.
