They looked out for one of my clients that needed a helping hand with billing. We really appreciate their work at Amstar!

I used Amstar for approximately two years because a suite mate used them. They routinely failed to timely file documents. In addition, the billing practices were fraudulent. We agreed to a monthly retainer, and then they surprised me with a bill in excess of $ 1,000, largely for items not properly handled. When I refused to pay the fraudulent bill, the owner challenged my professional integrity in a negative comment on Unilocal.
If you make the mistake of using this company, examine every bill immediately.

I was having trouble effecting service on a defendant in a restraining order case. This guy was savvy, and was evading service. We finally found him home one day and I called Doug to let hymn know. He came out immediately and got the guy served! Great job. I highly recommend him and his team.

These guys are amazing! I knew my service of court papers was NOT going to be easy. My ex knew they were looking — so she dodged them like crazy! They were relentless and stuck with it to the end. It took them 6 attempts and they finally were able to serve her. Best yet — their pricing did not change from the original quote that they gave me. I tried to serve my neighbor a restraining order for over a month. He was successfully ducking me and the Sheriff’s who were trying to arrest him. One day at roughly 11:30 in the morning I spotted him talking to some workers in the back yard and did a quick internet search for process servers. I came up with the contact for Amstar Express and called.
The owner –Doug MacDonald picked up the phone and I asked if he could come right away — I was looking right at the guy I wanted to serve. He said he didn’t have any of his guys in the office right then but would come himself and indeed within 15 minutes was in my driveway. When he went to serve my neighbor he had apparently gone to the store.
Doug hung around for about 20 minutes and then said he would have to come back another time. What could I say; I didn’t expect he would hang out all day. To my surprise 10 minutes later he called to say he had just served my neighbor. He explained that after talking to me and also knowing the guy had just gone to the store he thought he had a great chance to catch him if he waited. He went up the street and kept a visual on the property and sure enough shortly thereafter my neighbor pulled into his driveway.
Doug successfully served him and the rest was finally history. I paid extra to have him file it with the county and that was as easy as it could be. I would never go stand in line again after having Doug do it.
As an after note — Yesterday I finished at the courthouse and successfully got the 3 year restraining order issued. I didn’t give it a second thought. The first stop on the way home was at Doug’s office where I gave him a copy of the order and my credit card information and told him to simply serve, file, charge and let me know when it was complete.
I highly recommend Doug and his team.

These guys are great. I’ve been using them for years for service of process and messengering for my law practice. They have never let me down. The owner, Doug McDonald, watches over all aspects very carefully. Prices are good, and they offer personalized attention. Highly recommend.

They did a good job for me. They served the papers quickly (before the deadline) and charged my card what they said they would.

Don’t use these jerks. They screwed up my service paperwork, and I think they ripped off my credit card to buy crap at Best Buy and fill up their gas tanks.
