Our first Christmas in Colorado was last year. It was our first Christmas away from our families so we were doing as much community/local holiday stuff as possible. We attended the Thornton Winterfest and happened upon Winnie’s Minis Donut Truck. It was love at first nibble! We got a small chocolate glazed to share last year without really expecting too much but were definitely pleasantly surprised. They make the donuts right in front of you, which is pretty cool. What you get is 6 – 10 light and fluffy donuts with a crispy-ish outside and chocolate syrup all over the top. Last year we didn’t know the name of the truck, but knew that if we went to Winterfest this year, we would write it down — order a large — and do whatever it took to get our mitts on some mini donuts. Anyway, they were there. We waited in line for 20+ minutes and they were totally worth it(a large chocolate glazed with a hot cocoa this time!) and we have now officially become roadies. Apparently they show up at pretty much every city event for Thornton, plus others in the area. So keep your eyes out for Winnie’s Minis Donut Truck. It may not look like much, but, holy crap, are they ever tasty!

Delicious. There’s nothing more to say really. Good prices, excellent food, friendly employees. And you get to watch the little donuts being made, which is badass.
